Works great for a house with a ton of pets!

We have a home with a lot of pets (3 small dogs and 4-5 cats). All are indoor pets so we get a lot of shedding going on. This robot has been wonderful at helping to keep the mess down. "Rosie" runs every morning during the week and we deep clean vacuum on the weekends. I love seeing the tracks on the carpet each day and knowing that she's helping to keep up with the hair. She doesn't pick up everything and we often times have little tufts of hair left on the carpet but she works wonders on the hard floors to keep the litter mess to a minimum. If we had full hard floors upstairs, I would pair with the mop robot. Rosie also is great at avoiding obstacles (we haven't had a mishap yet). She knows each of our pets and that they are all temporary obstacles to avoid. I can't remember the last time I had to review an obstacle. We also have a dog that is not quite housebroken and Rosie has never had a poop-cident. I am very impressed with this vacuum. The only real issue we have is that she doesn't seem to stay charged as much as she used to. She used to be able to do the whole upstairs on one charge and now seems to go back to the base one or two times to complete it. Not a huge thing and she still does a great job.

Unfortunately

The iRobot got stuck for the 1st time in one of the bedrooms. It dug into and tore up the carpet and iRobot will not pay for the replacement of the carpet in that room. Told me because of the type of carpet (loop type carpet) that it's not the iRobot's fault but could not nor did not direct me to where this is written. iRobot offered to mail a new iRobot which is kinda funny since they said it shouldn't be used on loop type carpet.

The i5+ ABSOLUTELY is a piece of junk. No technical support

I own almost every vintage of iRobot robots. I have been a customer for 20 years, having owned one of their first robots. This i5+ is a piece of junk. What concerns me most is the number of times I have called and the lack of support I have received. This episode now has gone on for over 5 weeks. Daily phone calls yield nothing. Calls to corporate yield nothing. At this point in time, there is literally nothing iRobot can do which will make amends for this fiasco .

Are you looking for the p

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Are you looking for the perfect addition to your smart home? Look no further... the iRobot Romba J7 is the next smart tech you need to add to your home. Our house has the typical smart lights, cameras, thermostat, doorbell, and door lock. We decided to add a budget smart robot to clean and let me tell you it sucked and not in the way you want a vacuum to suck. The thing didn't work that well. Then we found the J7 from iRobot and let me tell you this thing SUCKS but it a good way. We have two little kids that are always dropping things on the floor, on our rugs and in the carpet. This robot vacuum could handle it all and all while avoiding the toys they left on the ground. The techology in this robot vacuum was something else. It can map your house and do cleanings without much interaction from me or my wife. It can learn where to go and where not to go over time. This is one of the coolest smart products out there. So like I said at the start, time to check out the iRobot J7. Do yourself a favor and get one NOW!

Wanted to update my review!

STILL TERRIBLE. We've had this vacuum for just about a year now. Started experiencing issues with it about a month in, contacted customer care and they would not refund us. All they did was send us brush replacements and told me that was the issue. No, that did not solve the issues. Constantly having to unplug it and factory reset to get it to work again. I posted a review on this site about two months ago and Irobot reached out to me and offered to send us a brand new vacuum which I thought was nice. We get the new vacuum, get all set up and less than a week later we are having the same exact issues as we were having with the old vacuum. This vacuum is garbage. not worth $800

Not impressed

I received this as a Christmas present. Was excited to try it as we have dogs and hair always needs to be vacuumed up. 1st it took forever to get the mapping done. 2nd it does a horrible job vacuuming up dog hair. It seems to roll it up and then leave it in clumps all over that then i have to pick up or get the vacuum out. 3rd there are areas it can't get to that you still have to get the traditional vacuum. What i like, once its mapped, is you can have vacuum just the rooms you need it to.

They messed up, shouldn't ask me for a review

At first everything was fine. I have the j7+ and brava mopping robots. That like $1000 total. Then I purchased Protect+ which adds enhanced and expedited support, free replacement. That's $200 per month unit. Skip to a year and I start having issues. They both drop from wifi requiring me to reset the units to reconnect them. Roomba has communication issues with the docking station and the brava fails to undock sometimes. I emailed support, and it took them 20 days to respond. They provided steps to complete - I already did. These are the steps the app tells you to complete when it tells you there's an error. I explained I have performed all steps and to escalate me issue to the specialist. That was 10 days ago. Mediocre products for price, support not available even if you pay. Then they asked me to review them. They screwed up.

Great vacuum

I have only had my iRobot ( we named Boo Boo.) for a couple of months. My house is definitely cleaner. I have a ranch with all LVT floors. With two cats that shed a lot, there was always cat fur and dust visible. Now with Boo Boo my floors always look good. We chose the J7+ because reviews said it was the best for pet hair. I am amazed at how he is able to clean in corners and under the beds. It's fun to track his progress on my phone. The app is user friendly and easy to use. It alerts you if there is a problem. The app tells you exactly how to fix any problems, such as things stuck in the rollers. I was skeptical because I am not very tech savvy, but I have had no problems understanding what to do. It took a little bit of effort in the beginning with mapping and labeling rooms but again not too difficult to understand. I really like that each room is defined so I can set a schedule for cleaning different rooms on certain days. You can also add a job if a room needs cleaned in between scheduled cleaning. So far my husband and I are very happy with our IRobot j7+.

This is a great vacuum, and pretty quiet too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am just loving how well this Roomba Vacuum works, it vacuums the floors well and I really like that when the vacuum is full it will go back and empty it self and then continue vacuuming my floors. This vacuum is also pretty quiet picks up everything in its path and I also like that it sweeps the edges of the rooms. It is also easy to empty out the canister once it’s filled up.

This is our second iRobot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second iRobot vacuum and this one is much better than before. The included mapping feature is great, as you can add "no go" zones to keep the robot from going over areas in your house that you don't need vacuumed. Also nice that you can add multiple maps, so you can have multiple floors mapped out. The only drawbacks is the small dirt/dust bin that seems to need emptied after every vacuum, and that you can't see on in-real time where the robot has vacuumed and hasn't vacuumed.
