Amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a free sample. I've always wanted a roomba and apparently I should have had one long ago! With 2 dogs, 2 small kids and a husband who works construction I was either vacuuming every day or looking at tumble weeds of dog hair and crumbs floating around my house. Not any more! The roomba j7 does it all for me! It navigates around obstacles easily! I was really worried it would have a hard time going over our thresholds from the kitchen slate tiles to the hardwood floors and every onto the carpets. Absolutely no worries. It climbs over everything with ease. If I don't run it every day o have to clean the bin out during the middle of cleaning. It's super easy to do though. 2 clicks and a dump! I have a dyson stick vacuum that's an absolute pain to clean the bin out so this was quite refreshing to have such an easy experience with. I love how you can easily program with your phone and it instantly sends alerts if something is wrong. I'll definitely need to purchase another one for my basement!

Such an improvement over earlier generation!

I have been really happy with my j7 after the first few weeks. It is a vast improvement over the first Roomba that I purchased back in 2017. It mapped my house quickly and I love being able to tell it which rooms to vacuum. It cleans efficiently and quietly and the self-emptying feature is great.

Avoids the pet messes

I had a Roomba before but with pets who sometimes left deposits on the floor, I got tired of taking the vacuum apart to clean it. I bought this one because it would avoid those deposits. I find it is quieter while vacuuming. I don't think it cleans as well. I find there are crumbs or dirt where the floor goes from hardwood to area carpet. Overall it does well. I have not had to take it apart except when it vacuumed up a ribbon. It takes pictures as it vacuums as proof that it did it. It is very noisy when it empties its bin but that is only a minute.

Easy set up and good performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cleaning is not so much of o big chore anymore since I got the new IRobot Roomba j robot vacuum. This little robot is a breeze to set up—simply download the Robot Home App, follow the straightforward instructions to connect it to your home network, and create a mapping of your entire house, which takes about 90 minutes. Then, within the app, set up a cleaning schedule, and you're all set. Once everything is configured, it's off to work for you. The home docking station is where the magic happens: not only does it charge the robot, but it also empties its container of dirt from vacuuming the floor. While the robot is running its course, it's impressively quiet, thanks to its thoughtful design. However, when it's docked and cleaning out the dirt into the filter inside the docking station, it does get a bit louder. It is equipped with two rubber wheels that grip well on both carpet and tile, along with sensors and cameras that detect objects, this little helper navigates seamlessly through your home, leaving your floors spotless. The J9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum is the ultimate solution for pet owners seeking a clean home without the hassle

My dogs didn't kill it

Always thought my two dogs wouldn't like it like the regular vacuum and try to attack it. I was afraid it would get destroyed the first time out. Nope... they can't even be bothered to move out of the way when it gets near them. Wish I had bought it years ago. And the best part is it does a great job cleaning also!!

Needs more space than you think.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After waiting many, many months, I finally received this product. It was very well packaged, with no space wasted in the box. Looking over the setup instructions, it seems simple, yet complicated, as it needs multiple feet of space around the charging base for it to navigate in and out. I have to rearrange my spare bedroom to provide enough space for an adequate setup.

Awesome machine!

This I'd my third Roomba. Unfortunately two were stolen from a mover. I got the one that self empties and it's great. It's very loud when emptying but it's only for a few seconds so I can live with it. My neighbor downstairs might not like it but oh well. This machine has a lot of suction and does a great job with cat hair from three cats! I set it to clean automatically twice a week and go on with other things. Well worth the money!

Good enough!

It's a good little machine, but the suction isn't stellar. Even the one of the Self-Empty base isn't very good. I have a Roomba for my Birds to pick up stray seeds that fell out, and it often misses some, and on the self empty base- most seeds stay behind inside the Roomba-Canister. I also do not like, that you can not set roomba to do criss cross vacuuming like another Brand I know. Meaning, setting it for an extra thorough clean, where it first goes the room lengthwise and a second round side to side. The only thing that made me decide for the Roomba after trying that other Brand is, the app works really well. You can set different schedules for different days and Roomba works well with Alexa, and notifies you of any issues or completed jobs. The other Brand, with a unstable, constantly crashing app, not working well with Alexa and most of all the very limited scheduling capabilities- had phenomenal mapping and exceptional cleaning capability and no vaccume bag needed (Hepa Filter with removable easy dump cannister on the charging Station. BUT not having a good app, limited scheduling capability would have made it a little less useful and more of a headache in the long run. So I decided for the Roomba. It does take amusing pictures and I still love and enjoy my little Roomba. Maybe my CON's will be PRO's down the Road when those things are improved and I will certainly opt for that newer Generation. Til then my little guy will be good enough, just not perfect yet- overall still a good little Robot to have.

Poop Detector
4 out of 5 stars review

So far so good!

As a previous Eufy fan with pets, I was desperate for the poop detection. So far, I have had no complaints. While the eufy seemed to have better suction and left less dirt and hair behind. It's lack of mapping meant areas would be missed. The smart features of this robovac are really impressive. I love how it recharges and then completes the job. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend over eufy if you have a pet.

Disappointed
2 out of 5 stars review

Could be greatly improved

The battery never lasts enough to do a total home cleaning and I live in a very modest 1600sq foot house. You also need to have the lights on in all the rooms while it works so that drives up your electricity costs because it takes very inefficient paths to get the cleaning done. its dust bin is incredibly small as well so you will have to babysit it to make sure it's still sucking up dirt and dust. You can turn the feature off to stop when its dust bin is full, but what use is that? The vacuum would just be essentially leaving dirt and dust in the carpets. I was trying to buy something that was headquartered in the USA, but sadly this has let me down compared to the other brand I had before this unit.
