Consistently my favorite steak!!

This is really the BEST precut tenderloin steaks short of a 4 star restaurant and at a quarter of the price. There definitely is a difference between choice (grocery store) and prime! We've had these over a dozen different times and haven't had a bad one yet. Remember to sear them first, then finish cooking them at a very low temp. - 250 degrees or so. Use a meat thermometer and remove them at 125 degrees. Let them rest for 5 minutes and they will be about 135 degrees or a perfect medium rare. The only down side is to remember to trim the silver skin off before cooking. Sadly, they don't do that.

I am not a big steak person. In fact, I typically eat maybe 3 or 4 steaks in a year's time. This cut of prime filet was so tender that i have already cooked two of the steaks in one month.i highly recommend if you're a steak lover or eat steaks sparingly as I do!

If possible would give negative stars. Need to train and allow Meat Staff to trim-off the waste properly and discard - way too much gristle/fat left not trimmed off. Looked over the packages in the meat case and reluctantly purchased a 2.11 pound package - got home and trimmed off 0.4 pounds of waste. For “Prime” quality at nearly $24 per pound, do the math and hitting $9 waste. Take a look at the picture of this item on the Sam’s website and in-store and you can see they are not properly trimming - and they put fatty part under so cannot be seen when looking at packages - this is somewhat common, but not for “Prime” cut at $24/lb. Also when to two Sam’s clubs and this “prime” looked the same at both. I returned and spoke with the manager to communicate that this was unacceptable. Got a refund and purchased at another store. FYI I don’t do reviews but feel you should know what you’re buying.

I got them home to marinate. Was having company and very excited to cook them a special dinner. When I opened the package I nearly got sick from the smell. It was awful. One of the worst things I have ever smelled. I called the Moore store and spoke with someone in the meat department and told them what happened. They apologized and wanted to go check the meat refrigerator to make sure there was nothing else in there spoiled. I would say they were rancid. I took them back to the Norman store and picked up some other steaks. I will never buy meat at the Moore store again.

These prime filet steaks were absolutely amazing! They were tender and very flavorful. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Best steak around. My husband swore by these steaks. Especially for the price-no better filet mignon in KC.

Steaks were great with good marbling and were very delicious. We find all the Sam’s prime meats to be exceptional.
