Fatty

Filet should not that this much fat. I only had a small portion of edible meat.

Excellent steaks

With steaks a room temperature, we coated them with kosher salt and let them sit for 45 minutes before grilling to medium rare. They were flavorful and tender. Will definitely buy again.

Beef filets

I usually buy choice but they were sold out so I bought Prime filet mignons which I don't like to do because they're even more expensive and I don't see the difference. The steaks are always so delicious and my family loves them.

Buyer Beware

The price and taste of this is excellent. What was not excellent was out of the four steaks in the package 2 turned out to be end pieces but were in the middle of the four so I did not notice that until I was home. The ends should have been used for stew beef or ground beef, not presented as steaks. So the price I paid ended up basically doubling. But my dogs ate well that night.

Only three out of four were edible.

I was disappointed to find the steak under the price tag was a thick triangular end piece full of gristle and fat. This is not the first time this has happened. This prime steak is very expensive and should be sold with four beautiful pieces not three with a reject.

Prime filet mignon for a bargain!

I use to buy a pair of prime filet mignons from a local butcher for a whopping ~$70 for the set. To be fair, they were about 2" thick. Now that I know Sam's sell prime filet mignons between $40~$50, depending on total weight, in a pack of 4, I've ditched the butcher and always get them from Sam's. Tastes great and pairs well with a smooth, full-bodied cab like Caymus.

Rancid meat

I got them home to marinate. Was having company and very excited to cook them a special dinner. When I opened the package I nearly got sick from the smell. It was awful. One of the worst things I have ever smelled. I called the Moore store and spoke with someone in the meat department and told them what happened. They apologized and wanted to go check the meat refrigerator to make sure there was nothing else in there spoiled. I would say they were rancid. I took them back to the Norman store and picked up some other steaks. I will never buy meat at the Moore store again.
