The butchers label this cut of meat as "Filet mignon". Beef tenderloin is not filet mignon. Marbled beef tenderloin is full of grizzle, does not cook well and is impossible to chew! Please, have your butchers visit Randall's or HEB butchers and learn how to cut the filet mignon from the tenderloin without the grizzle.

We have purchased these several times and they are usually pretty good and tender for the value you get them at. The last package we bought the other week had a lot of nice marbling and they were absolutely fantastic !!! Couldn't have asked for a better steak. My wife always cooks these in grandmas cast-iron skillet with lots of butter. YUM !!!!!!

Great value and excellent meat. I was afraid to order it online without seeing it, but steaks are nicely trimmed. My package had 3 steaks that wer between 6 and 7 oz, and one that was a bit over 11 oz. For a household of 2, this works out nicely -- grill 2 small ones and freeze the rest.

The Prime Beef labeled Filet Mignon purchased was tough and tasteless. It was very disappointing and most of it was left on the plate. It was over 4 pounds with a price over $100. A waste of money. All of our guests left hungry. I’ve had this cut from Sam’s in the past and it was very good. I hope this is not the new quality standard!!

I purchased what I thought was "Prime" beef tenderloin, which is what the sign showed, but when I got home and my wife was repackaging the meat she told me the label on the meat showed it being" Choice" not prime Now Sam's club wants me to review and rate my purchase of: guess what - Prime beef tenderloin. So what did I get??

I love these steaks but only three of the four are good cuts the fourth steak they hide under the label because it’s trash meat. I’ve bought these several times and not once has all four been equal quality. Trust me plan on only eating three of the steaks until they stop this practice.

I've had great results w/ Sams Prime filets. Sometimes I buy them packaged & sometimes I'll have an entire tenderloin cut but either way, these are so good and worth it. Meat quality is high & you will not be disappointed when serving guests this steak. Highly recommend!

Don’t waste your money paying more for prime. These steaks were practically uneatable. They were tough and grisly and only about 25% was eatable. This is not the first time we’ve had this experience. Once before I took the wrapper and remains back to Sam’s but they weren’t very interested in my problem. My advice: take your chances and buy non prime. Your odds are at least as good for a decent streak!

Outstanding steaks! Excellent cut and taste! Phenominal price to product value. Cut thickness is generous as well as the ounce weight. By far the best meat I have purchased at Sams. I opted to cut them in half thickness-wise and yielded 8 from 4 - could also cut them in half to share. Will rebuy.

Cooked these for a close friend's birthday using a sous vide cooker, and finished with a food torch. They turned out terrific and the Birthday girl was greatly pleased. We've had multiple good experiences buying Prime beef at Sam's -- it's a touch less marbled than the super marbled steaks the high-end steakhouses serve (for big $$) but really an excellent value for the money.
