Most stores have been totally out of Romaine lettuce for several weeks so I bought this, knowing it is not really very fresh. But it is lettuce and it is "crunch." The heads in this package began to seriously rot after a few days which is something that did not happen the other time I bought this product.

It’s A LOT of romaine, and with just two of us at home, we have to be diligent about eating it before it spoils. But it’s always fresh and perfect. I chop off the bottom and the tips rinse it like crazy and use it on everything: sandwiches, a base for chicken, tuna, and egg salads, and individual leaves layered with bacon, tomato, and mayonnaise for a BREAD-FREE BLT! YUM! And BUMPS IN A LEAF: smear a leaf with peanut butter and drop a few raisins on top. Easy, healthy, delicious!

I feel like these hearts of Romaine have been very small lately. Oftentimes I have to search and search through the boxes to get ones that don’t look old and rusty. Needless to say, I still occasionally buy these and pray that there won’t be a recall due to an outbreak like in the past.

A bag of Lettuce Heads.. who doesn't need that? We love salads and we love to add the crisp crunch of romaine hearts to our salads so for the price on convenience this is a great grab and go item that is a regularly shopped product for our household.

It seems Sams has changed their supplier for this product because it is so much better than the romaine I've gotten there in the past. It's much fresher & crisper, keeps better, and unlike the other brand, I didn't have to toss all the outer leaves. A big improvement!

This large package stays fresh for a very long time. I take out one at a time, wash and leave in the salad spinner, leaving the open package in the crisper. If they are less than crisp just soak in ice water - perfect again. Great taste, good size for big leaves for sandwiches or tearing for salads.

In most cases this is a dirty, bug infested, from no taste to bitter, tough, and in some cases starting to rot on the interior leaves. We have returned this lettuce seversl times, and are given credit. Now I just toss it out for the squirrels, rabbits, and deer. Other times it is the total reverse of the above description. So as my title says, it is HIT OR MISS. Unfourtainly there is no way to really know what is in the plastic packaging. I can not either recommend or recommend.

This is my go-to lettuce when I make my famous Caesar salad. Ok, it's Sargentos Caesar salad, but I substituted anchovy paste for anchovy fillets! Back to the heart of the Romaine... These packs are crisp, and fresh. They do vary in size depending on the season, but that's to be expected. Of course they need a good wash like any fresh produce, but they're not super muddy like some romaine can be. They're great for salad, or Asian style lettuce wrap appetizers. These are a staple on my shopping list. Highly recommend.

I’ve been buying romaine lettuce from Sam’s Club for years and have never been disappointed. It’s fresher and lasts longer in my refrigerator than lettuce I’ve got from their competitors. So I will go out of my way if need be to get it at Sam’s Club.

These romaine heads are always fresh, crunchy, and hearty! There are MANY companies that sell these, but Sams is my go to! We keep salad in the fridge as a quick snack or meal! I haven’t bought a bad pack yet! Remember to take out this bag and put in a ziplock with paper towel what you AREN’T using right away. Stays longer!
