I did lots of research before buying and the ubiquinol form is the best form to take since it is absorbed more readily by the body. I'm so glad I found this. I take it everyday. A friend of my father's spent money that equals thousands of dollars on it every year. Ten years ago, my father in China had a stent installed, and my mother has always had irregular heartbeat. Besides, my mother in law also has cardio-vascular problems. Consulting the doctors, I decided to bring them Co-Q10 from the US. When I was considering product brands, Qunol was the first that came to my mind. It's a great product that is more effective and easier to be absorbed. Whenever I visit my parents or in-laws, I buy a LOT! Not only for my family, but as gifts for friends and relatives. Another great thing about it is it's not heavy at all -- highly compacted. My mother told me that her irregular heartbeat has totally disappeared and my father has just celebrated his 82nd birthday. He is still very agile and works on his financial investment every day!

There is, however, a growing belief that COQ10 may be the exception and that it does provide many benefits, especially for prescription statin users (Lipitor etc.). This particular version is Ubiquinol which is most readily absorbed by the body (water and oil soluble). Regular COQ10 must first be converted to Ubiquinol by your body. I will say that I felt a difference almost the very first day since I started taking this product. It is not cheap, but for something that works like this, I will continue to buy it.

I went to a Lipodologist who recommend natural supplements, but also counsels that I use a CoQ10 supplement to boost that enzyme in my body. The Qunol supplement has helped to sustain my body levels against the statin effect.

He also said the ubiquinol form found in Qunol was the best for absorption and that it would replace the CoQ10 that Lipitor removes. Even though I have to use medicine to lower my cholesterol, it is nice to know that my body doesn't have to suffer the negative effects of the medicine.
