[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After being diagnosed with high cholesterol, I was prescribed several different medications, all statin drugs, to "help" bring down my numbers. Within a few weeks, I started noticing pain in my hands and knees. I talked to my doctor about this and all he would say is "You're doing great, keep it up. " After several months, the pain got worse and I noticed that I was losing weight too. Again, my doctor said that I was doing just fine and then he not only changed the statin drug that I was on but also doubled the dose! All this time going by and all I get is how much better my numbers are doing yet I'm still losing weight and the pain in my joints has increased greatly from my hips to my feet, my hands, wrists, etc. Well, after too many years of this I had a friend tell me to Google "The dangers of statins ". I was shocked at what I found out! I was a perfectly healthy man, for my age and life experiences, who had dropped from 175 - 180 down to almost 125lbs and felt like mtmy body was falling apart. Per several articles I discovered what CoQ10 was and it's affect on healthy muscles and joints. I had stopped taking the statins months earlier but the damage was already done. I researched types of Coq10 and found that Qunol Mega Coq10 was the best on the market. I started out taking 200mg a day for the first year and now take 100mg a day and although I've been told that 100% of the damage alreadydone is irreversible I do have a noticeable improvement in the fact that my weight has improved and leveled off around 165lbs and my joints and muscles don't hurt or cramp like they used to. I've learned to control my cholesterol with dietary changes and have told everyone I know what to expect and watch for when they are prescribed any statin drugs. If it helps just one person from going through the pain that I have, it's worth it. I tell them all that statins are poison and if they have to take them to always also take Qunol Mega Red Coq10. This advice has helped many.

I wasn't sure at first, but when I began to feel the difference, I never stopped taking the pills. These days, I take care of my old father who frequently wakes up in the middle of night.
