Great features, small wristband
Happy with purchase except the wristband is too small. comes with a small strap and a large strap- the large one is still too small. been trying to locate a extra large strap- good luck with that. calling samsung direct tomorrow to see if they even have one available for purchase
Classic
What can I say, I don't wear watches. I had the original gear s with the big rectangle face. I paid some awful amount for it to my cell provider. Unfortunately I only wore it a few times before it was delegated to a desk drawer. Too uncomfortable. Having had this Gear S3 now for a couple weeks the size is nice. Looking fantastic on my large wrists; the problem ahain is that it's just too tight. The band that came with it is the very comfortable so I've only been wearing it off and on. It's quite nice though to be able to answer a call with your phone in your pocket. Or the best feature of all in my opinion, the Samsung pay, I can leave my phone and wallet in the truck and still run into the store and make a purchase. That alone is worth wearing this watch.
Great watch
I love the watch. Like the fact that it looks very sturdy and has performed well since I purchased it. I love the health aspects of the watch but haven't really used S Health because of a reported battery issue. The lack of Google voice and maps is the only thing that I can knock it for, other than that it's perfect.
Luv'vin my Gear S-3
ABSOLUTELY love this watch.. I have owned just about every version of the gear watches (along with a couple other brands) and I have to say that this one lives up to the hype.. It has far exceeded my wishes and I love how it interacts with S-Health to keep me motivated to keep moving.. I can't even remember the last time that I rode the elevator.. I was also impressed with the better battery life and noticed that I can actually go over a day without charging the device even in the always on display mode.. If I could change anything, I would hope that the makers would increase the on board memory as I tend to load my workout music on the watch to keep from bringing my phone to the gym's floor.. OK so I would hope that future models would allow the user to answer phone calls via bluetooth headphones.. This would keep me from removing the headphones to answer a call which interrupts my workout.. All in all, I am VERY happy that I chose this watch..
The King Of Smartwatches hands down
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros battery, HR, GPS, Samsung Pay, Spotify, premium build Cons non Summary The watch delivers on all levels! It looks very good (people react to it!), size is perfect for me (smaller then my Garmin Fenix3) , the user experience is awesome thanks to the bezel, and it is fully loaded with functionality. I use it for: daily fitness/activity tracking, running, reading emails and calendar, WhatsApp, and text messages, and... to see the time :) I've been through a number of Android Wear watches to date (sony, moto 360, huawei), and none even comes close to this Gear S3 classic. 1. Battery life: spans from two to three days (depends on the setup and usage). Which is amazing for a smartwatch and don't think any other smartwatches come close to it. 2. Heartrate monitor: was surprisingly accurate (I compared it to garmin with a chest monitor) 3. Resilience: So far (after over 2 weeks of heavy use) there are no scratches / signs of wear) 4. GPS as well worked like a charm (once again compared to Garmin Fenix 3) 5. Hundreds of watch faces available to download to suit any style and occasion. Same with bands. 6. built in speaker is surprisingly good and left many people impressed with the quality and loudness of the music coming from built in speaker. 7. Built in storage for music so you can leave my phone at home when of for a run. Love this watch a lot and think it's the best smartwatch that is available on the market at the moment. Samsung is on the winner here for sure. 3. Resilience: So far (after over 5 weeks of heavy use) there are no scratches / signs of wear)4. Totally converted
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gear S3 frontier is packed full of hidden features, unbeknown to onlookers due to its smart and traditional watch design. Everything works seamlessly, merging together to work as one. The build quality is second to none giving the watch a real quality feel, backed up with endless stylish watch faces to choose from. I initially purchased this watch with a skeptical attitude, doubting my need for a smart watch and its features. A couple of weeks in and oh was I wrong. The inbuilt microphone and speaker is an excellent feature, delivering crystal clear call quality every time to the gentle reminders to get active. Everything has been well thought out and delivered to meet the active customer’s needs. More importantly, the gear S3 has changed my perception on smartwatches all together, Well done Samsung!
Great watch so far.
I purchased this watch September of 2018. I wanted to give it a good run through before posting my review. So far, a year later, this watch has given little disappointment. Pros: GPS has been very accurate. Quality sound from the built in mic and speaker. Accurate heart rate sensor. Cons: Software seems to lag at times. I have had to do 5 hard reboots on the watch do to it freezing or locking up. Overall I have exposed this watch to all elements of weather. Rain, snow, dust/sand, and accidentally left it laying in my car on accident in the midday sun. So it proves to be durable. If you are looking for a great watch at a great price, I would recommend any of the Gear Series Watches.
Love it!
I have had other smartwatches, and this one is by far the best. I love the bright display and feel of the watch. It looks nice and is not awkward on my tiny wrist. I appreciate the round display and the smooth integration with my Galaxy Note 8. There are a lot of optional watch faces available for free which is also great.
This is what Samsung Pay was made for!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What can I say about this watch? It does everything you need from a watch, Answer calls, text messages check! Check the news, track your sleep, check the weather? it does it all. Don't like your watch face? change it up. with many apps out there you can download lots and lots of different faces....even ones that are "designer" (rolex etc) My favorite thing by far though is being able to pay with Samsung Pay. As a S6 and S7 user it was a great feature. BUT to be able to leave my phone at home and use my watch the pay, its the JACKPOT! and yes you read that right....even on the Bluetooth version...you can check out with Samsung pay up to 5 times without your phone near by. Pair it back up and you get 5 more transactions!
Nice watch
This is a very nice watch. I got the bluetooth-only version because I have little need to be disconnected from my phone and don't want the extra monthly charges on my already too high cell bill. The device itself is done very well. The build quality is good but not great. The rotating bezel is a genius design but the bezel rattles on mine when touched...meaning it is not securely fastened as a premium-priced product like this should be. The looks are excellent. Good job Samsung! It is very large though...I'm a larger than average male (6'1" and 225lbs) and I can't imagine women wearing this watch or even smaller men. It's huge! The ease of use is also done very well with a high degree of customization available. As with all mobile devices, battery life is a major concern. Samsung's stated 3-4 days is, not surprisingly, a bit of an exaggeration. My experience has been between 1-2 days. 1 day with heavy use. I have never gotten through a 2nd full day without reaching critical battery status. Keep in mid that isn't a phone where you can just plug it in anywhere you have a micro usb cable, you have to have the proprietary charger...of which you probably have only one....at home. So, I just take it off every night and put it on the charger (in the kitchen) and I'm good for the next day. But this means I can't use it as an alarm or sleep tracker. (I can't imagine what the battery life must be like on the LTE version with the cellular radio running all the time) My only strong complaint is the lack of apps. Contributing to this issue (and maybe the only significant factor) is that the device uses Samsung's proprietary Tizen OS rather than a more common and open Android Wear OS. This significantly hinders development....which in turn limits the usefulness of the device and places a ceiling on just how successful it can be in the very crowded wearable market. I don't know Samsung's reasoning for this decision (money, most likely) but, as a generally rule, I strongly disagree with proprietary solutions to most things in which third party development is depended upon for the device to be successful...and this one is no exception. Overall I am satisfied with the device with a few shortcomings. It is a very good device that could be a great device if it ran on a more common OS and they address the few items I mention above.
