A smartwatch that actually looks smart
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the first time I opened the pack I was impressed with the look of the watch - it's really stylish looking, not like other smartwatches I have been looking wise. Also it has loads of features, particularly for fitness which is a important for my new health kick! I also found it easy to use. On negative side it a bit big for someone with small wrists like mine but the positives outweigh this negative by a long way!
Not for women
Its really frustrating that this watch is so masculine. I'm not trying to walk around with a giant silver piece of metal and black band on my wrist. Making something in tan, white or just any neutral colors would be nic. I want to get an iPhone for the simple fact that at least iwatches are unisex. I'm very loyal to Samsung, 7 years have I had a Samsung phone, mostly galaxy but these watches are just a no
Perfect watch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used he samsung gear s3 classic for just over a week now ( it arrived a little late) . I have an s2 so it is pretty easy for me to see any differences and improvements. It is perfect weight and size even tho I have pretty small wrist. The battery life on everyday use seems to be better than the previous model. The display is brighter and user interface is still as good as it has been. It does everything well and the choice of different watch faces both paid and free is huge. Many different designs with and without added functions and gadgets. Overall very good watch that is well produced and thoughtfully designed. I have showed it to many friends and family members. 3 of those have purchased theirs and are extremely happy with them.
Happy
Previously had a Gear Fit 2 but lost it. Decided to upgrade to this when it was finally a price I could stomach ($189 Black Friday) and have been thrilled with it. A charge lasts about three days going from 100% to 80% after one day of moderate/average use. It did take a couple days to get used to as it at first felt somewhat big and clunky but after two days it feels natural. I love it.
Samsung pay is amazing on the gs3
Being able to pay with my watch has saved me so much time especially being able to hook up to WiFi on your watch and pay that way. The only problem I have is still voice needs to go and be replaced with another voice assistant, so voice hardly works when I talk to it. I know samsung acquired the new ai assistant company, hopefully it is updated to that assistant soon. The look of the gs3 is beautiful to say the least. It's not to big or small, fits my wrist perfectly. The speaker is loud and clear. Being able to control my phone with my watch has been very helpful. Buy it you won't be disappointed.
Watch to have
Amazing quality watch by Samsung, the belt and quality of the watch build is really good. It definitely is a step above the fitbits even the blaze model. I also work in a semi formal environment and this watch goes with everyday work environment. I also bought few new belts to start using it during formal events, the belts are easily removable with a small pull clip. The watch does need to be charged every few days(depends on the dial display you have). There are loads of dials you can download for free and even get some paid ones. If you are on the fence about the watch get it you wont regret it.
Do not buy
Over the years I have had many Samsung devices. Every single one of them has given me problems. This watch was my last attempt to give Samsung another chance and I cannot say I will be doing it again. I bought this watch last night for $300.00 and got it all set up to use. It is a very nice looking smart watch and for the time it worked I enjoyed using it. Problem is the main reason I bought this smart watch is to use the touch to pay with normal card readers. To begin getting that service set up was a pain in the butt. I had to enable unknown devices and go through a very irritating setup process. The whole setup to be able to use the service in the first place took me three hours. When I finally got to the point where I could call my bank to activate my cards my debit card activated just fine. I called to activate my credit card twice and it didn't work even once. Then when I used this to pay for my prescription I tested it twice and each time it said declined. I then pulled my card out of my wallet and used it in the card reader and it was approved first time. I was also having issues with the S voice feature. No matter what command I gave it said "I am unable to process that right now, please try again later." When I contacted 1 (800) SAMSUNG for technical support the specialist I talked to told me to try resetting the entire watch. I followed the steps and attempted to reset it. The watch reset just fine. When I connected it to my phone I would try and update the Samsung apps and it would keep telling me that the device was disconnected and it couldn't update. So I cleared the app cache and data and reset the watch again. This time when I opened the Samsung apps folder in the Samsung gear app it constantly told me "Your device is not compatible with Samsung apps. Please contact Samsung for further assistance." I knew that was untrue because the technician I was on the phone with just a few minutes prior told me my phone was in fact compatible. Finally I completely uninstalled the Samsung Gear app and all of it's extensions and reinstalled it all again resetting the watch for a third time. This time I got it all setup again and it took me three attempts to finally get Samsung pay to install. Once I finally contacted my bank and got my debit card activated again I went to try and use it at Starbucks which actually has a NFC card reader. The watch gave me the exact same issue. I called 1 (800) SAMSUNG again for technical support and after going round and round with them explaining my issue repeatedly before she finally got it she told me she would have to escalate my issue to higher tech support for further troubleshooting beyond resetting the watch. At this point I was fed up and I told her not to bother sending this to higher up tech support as I would be returning this watch. This is the last Samsung mobile device I will ever buy. When you spend so much on a device you expect it to work. I have had several Motorola and LG devices and none of them have given me the issues that Samsung has. Samsung, much like Apple, used to be the leader in tech innovation and they have fallen far from their throne. I'm not saying that if you have a Samsung phone it won't work I'm just merely saying that if you don't have one then chances are pretty good it won't. Samsung has lost a very loyal customer.
Fantastic
Great, love it. I just wish there is Samsung official black stainless steall strap and better access to widgets. Widgets are kept in the applications box which means I need to go there to see how much battery I have left. Also, the Bluetooth range could be better. This is just me being awkward, apart from that....great
Excellent Smartwatch!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am thoroughly impressed with the Gear S3 Classic. It's well-designed and stylish; somewhat chunky as many high-end watches are but it's not heavy or clunky. I like they way they hid some of the thickness of the watch with the two-tone body. The strap is also nice, if a bit stiff; it's leather, and it's softening up over time, but it was almost a little uncomfortable at first. As for functionality--this thing is great. I love the apps that came by default and have added several more that I find very useful. The activity sensing is spot on and accurate; I love how it uses the altimeter to know that I just walked up a flight of stairs. I especially like being able to make and receive phone calls on the watch using the built-in speaker and microphone; the sound quality on both ends is really good--I can talk with my arm by my side and the person I'm calling can hear me just fine. It even works better in my car than the bluetooth feature on my stereo. If there was one thing I could wish to be added would be the ability to make phone calls over wireless via my phone when I don't have my phone with me (say, where my watch is connected to the wifi at work and my phone is connected to my wifi at home); I'm not sure this is actually possible, but it would be great addition. That being said, I can find no faults with this watch, especially at the price.
What a Smartwatch!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well what can I say about this watch. Probably too much actually. When I opened the box I found it to be well packaged and it screamed quality and to be well designed. Even when you look at the watch before even turning it on, it looks sleek and stylish. The round face gives it that original feel and the fact that you can easily change the straps is great. I found that when operating the watch it was really simply and easy. The bezel that you can spin to quickly navigate through the menus is a fantastic idea. Other than the easy operating system I found features like the heart rate monitor, pressure monitor (for the weather) and the auto activity sensor to be great. Also I like that the watch reminds you when you have been sitting for too long and that you should get moving. I found the Samsung Gear S3 too be a really well designed product in both looks and the way in which it operates.
