2 years development , are we sure?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gear S3 is the latest generation of smart watch to come from the tech giant Samsung. So, its been 2 years since the gear S was released and 3 since the Galaxy gear. What has this time allowed the developers to introduce? Lets compare: The Gear S has a 2" AMOLED touchscreen The Gear S3 has a 1.3" Amoled touchscreen The Gear S has GSM and HSPA Cellular WIFI

Excellent but expensive

Outstanding watch but pretty pricey for its functions. The limited set of applications and such was a bit disappointing however, the overall style and functionality of the watch makes it a very attractive product. The price was a bit steep as I feel the competitors products were not far behind in a lesser expense bracket. I would recommend this product if the applications were to improve. As of right now they seem more like novelty instead of usefulness. The fitness tracker was very useful and accurate. Works great with GO365.

Very important to have on the go

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tbis device is perfect for for anyone on the go! It is great for workouts if you want to track your exercise and ditch your phone because you can put music on it. This is a must have to go with any mobile device.

A smartwatch fit for the elderly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The s3 is a quality, timepiece. It is well designed, bigger than the s2 and the wide screen is superb; quite ideal for those with failing eyesight. The bezel itself enhances its classic appearance. Old folk will find it so easy to control. The s3 feels robust but certainly not heavy and the leather strap is comfortable albeit mundane. A vast array of alternatives is available. Similarly, hundreds of watch faces are available to suit all tastes. The s3 battery can lasts nearly three days, even when on constantly. The built-in GPS is great and older people will find it very useful when combined with ‘Here We Go’ for finding your way around. The various flash lights apps are a real help when fumbling with a key in the dark. Improvements to the microphone and speaker mean that both sound and voice quality have improved over the s2. Streaming music via the watch and receiving notifications on the wrist almost seems to make the phone redundant and it can remain more often in your pocket or handbag. Phoning directly via the s3 is good and calls are clear at both ends. As an OAP, I do find the s3 indispensable and wholeheartedly recommend it although it is expensive. It is very responsive and operating it does not involve a steep learning-curve. Until recently, the app choice was limited but has been substantially extended although key gaps remain. Older people may well find some apps extremely valuable. The S Health is most useful for me because it prompts me to keep moving! It automatically monitors walking, sleeping, hear-rate and now floor tracking. I can also keep up to date with weather and news and being forgetful, I frequently use the excellent voice recognition to add a reminder. Easy Peasy!

Inaccurate Fitness tracking

This device looks awesome on my wrist but its fitness tracking is highly in accurate, specially its auto sleeping feature which logs my train commute as sleeping lol. I would only recommend this to someone who's just looking for a watch to show notifications and text's etc.. This is not for gym goers. This watch gets crazy HR measurements when you sweat and highly inaccurate steps and millage when you run. I'm on the latest software! BTW there's a lack of apps available for this device.

Good for first-time smartwatch owners, hold off if upgrading from a Gear S2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coming from a Gear S2 (Verizon/3G), this watch is more of an evolutionary upgrade than a revolutionary one. The Gear S3 Classic has a 5+ day battery life, Samsung Pay (both MST & NFC), and a bigger screen. Comparatively, the Gear S2 had only a 1-day battery life, Samsung Pay (only NFC), and a smaller screen. On paper, these sound like worthwhile upgrades. But to get these upgrades, you’ll have to accept the fact that this watch is bulky and slightly uncomfortable. Samsung did it’s best to make the watch look slimmer by blacking-out the lower half of the watch body. But there’s no hiding its bulk. It’s like moving up from a ladies’ watch size to a men’s ginormous “Fossil” type watch. And for those with smaller wrists, this can limit hand/wrist mobility. The only feature that makes the Gear S3 stand out is the Samsung Pay MST technology. In a nutshell, Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) mimics the signal that a magnetic stripe on a credit card sends to the credit card terminal when swiped. That means the MST-equipped watch can be used to pay for items in 90%+ credit card terminals in the US (except for gas pumps and ATM’s, where the reader is embedded too far into the machine). Compare that to NFC technology (which powers Apple Pay and Android Pay), which requires an NFC reader at the credit card terminal. A somewhat rarity, even today. Bottom line, there’s a few ways to look at this watch: 1) If you’re upgrading from another Gear watch and really want the Samsung Pay MST technology or you need a better battery life at any cost, consider upgrading to this watch. 2) If you’ve never had a smartwatch before but are looking to jump on the bandwagon, you can’t go wrong with a Gear S3 watch. But I’d recommend the Gear S3 Frontier, which offers cellular connectivity over the Bluetooth-only Gear S3 Classic. 3) If you’re coming from another smartwatch, you’re getting one of the best watches on the market with a far more functional and versatile platform than Android Wear and WatchOS. If you don’t fall into any of these categories, I would recommend waiting until October 2017 when the Gear S4 is rumored to be released.

First Time Smartphone Owner

incoming emails, look up scores through ESPN, operate the music on my phone, make payments with samsung pay and even make phone calls. The speaker on the watch is amazing and makes it so easy to take a call and have a conversation. If you need to be hands free or want to look at something on your phone while having a call the watch is the best way to do that. The speaker is loud, it never has connectivity issues and the other side of the line has no idea your using the watch vs being on the phone (unlike how you can tell when someone uses speaker phone). Also it is very simple (one button) to switch a call from your phone to your watch and vice versa. Another great feature about the watch is S health. I already have S health set up on my phone so that synced right away and its great all the things you can do with the watch. You can keep track of your steps, floors climbed, water drank, coffee drank, and your inactivity time. For anyone who is into fitness this watch is awesome. Samsung pay on the watch is the last feature that had a big impact on my opinion. Once you load the cards on your watch, just like on your phone, you can use them almost anywhere (as long as they have a card swipe function) to pay for stuff. The awesome thing is you dont even need to have your phone to make the purchase, max of 5 in this scenario. The only negative is that the phone app isn't fully synced with the watch and you will need to add cards to the watch even if you already have them on the phone.

Fantastic watch bit disappointed with its lifespan

I was thrilled when I got this watch from Amazon last year November. Worked like a charm and I used it every day and everywhere I went. A pity though, that the module didn't last more than a few days after the manufacturer's warranty with the prescribed usage. Not very economical to repair the module I've found, so it's back to the drawing board. Great watch while it worked though!

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first smartwatch and so far really enjoying the features. It is a little large for women to wear but unless you are a petite person, the look is quite nice. The watch can be dressed up by changing the watch face as well as the band making it very versatile. Love the design and overall functionality of this device!

What a great watch

This is my first smart watch. I have had this less than a week and can not get over how great it looks and feels on my wrist. There is a learning curve to get going. The quick start guide is great. Downloading the user manual was a little frustrating but after that the setup went quickly. The sound quality of phone calls is excellent . I thought reading messages would be a little difficult , but I was wrong it is very easy. All in all this isva great product with two exception . 1. The band could be a little bigger can only go to the third slot. 2. I wish it was supported on Verizon . I would definitely recommend this to everyone .
