Loving it so far

Used to have the Gear S2 Classic and upgraded to the S3 and so far am loving it. the speaker a couple of extra features and a nicer band is nice to have now. Only thing that I don't like is the thickness, it is thicker than the S2 but I guess the perks make up for it and I have gotten used to it now. So far I've used it with the Note 5 and Galaxy S8.

Not just a gimmick

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally a smartwatch that is and looks like a real watch. I have owned other smartwatches and it has been obvious what they are, the design and the screen blanking out makes then stand out The S3 its designed by a watchmaker so its looks and feels like a watch. Also you get the option of having the screen always on. That reduces the battery but I still get 48 hours out of it The bezel may seem outdated but it works so well. You get greater control and no failed swipes, useful for cancelling nuisance calls. The S3 is also the 1st watch I have had that is both a smartwatch and a fitness watch - most are one or other with a little of the other thrown in. It has its own gps and a built in heart rate monitor. I have a fitness watch where the monitor stuck out of the back of the watch so that irated my skin. This one is flush with the back of the watch so you dont realise its there

GEAR S3 FRONTIER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung gear S3 frontier edition is an amazing smartwatch dedicated to those interested in the smartwatch technology. The watch itself has a simplistic and efficient design and an initiative UI which is very easy to use. The bezel is one of the functions which makes the watch very easy to use and a standout feature of the watch along with its very good batter life which can be prolonged thorough power saving mode. Additionally the watch is designed to use as a strong standalone device with the ability to make calls and play music (spotify) as well as being a brilliant fitness tracker with heart rate and GPS to measure your exercise making the frontier an amazing sport watch which can also be used at social events. The customization of the watch is useful to match an individuals needs and the gear watch face designer highlights the approach made by Samsung to make a watch which is unique to the user. On day to day use of this product linked with my smartphone, the watch has made it easier to access many feature of my phone while helping fitness wise to promote a healthier lifestyle. The gear S3 is a revolutionary timepiece which provides limitless functionality and is a very effective smartwatch.

Finally

Finally, a Gear that lasts. Yes. It goes four days without need for charging. Better get the Frontier version with the rubber strap if you are a bucket-sweater like me. The sweat from your wrist skin is really bad for the leather/suede of the classic version. The only not-so-pleasant thing about the design is that the bezel is very scratchable. It can easily get scratched, so be careful when you wave your hand around or take off the watch to let your wrist skin breath!

Weak up gesture not workin

I bought Frontier S3 a week ago. I have the problem of wake up gesture.its not working. First time it worked and after a week it stopped working. I trying my best to find in this forum to make it work. All failed. Is there any way I can make it work? I had great expectations on a Samsung product. Now all gone!! I feel I never recommending Samsung to othersin future. What a shame, Samsung?

Innovative Outdoor Explorer

I've been seriously impressed by the Gear S3 frontier. It is very durable and versatile. I've worn it to work, hiking, fishing, school, diner, and parties. It really can be an everyday watch no matter the days plans. The battery will last 24hr off a full charge.

Great build quality and feature packed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stylish design and development from original gear is fabulous. The microphone supplies clear sound to any callers. The built in activity sensors offer an in depth analysis for exercise and health. Great in built speaker for music playback as well as clear calls.

A quality smart watch!

I bought this awhile ago and it has been serving me well. It keeps me motivated by tracking and reminding me of my daily exercise, walks and overall physical activity. I answer my calls and read my messages and alerts from the watch. The battery life lasted me a while day with a not overly animated watch face. It teaches my sleep patterns and with the new update automatically detects the workout type! I won't leave home without it on my wrist!

Hands down best smart watch out on the market right now

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy this product very much as it was a big upgrade from the Gear Fit 2 (Not bashing on it, but this is much cooler) The ability to use the watch for a wide variety of different occasions just makes it the best especially with the interchangeable straps. The screen is very big which made me question if this was gunna look good on my wrist since it was big. But it turns out this is a nice size and very useful. What I also appreciate is the watch can work off your home network and you can use the built in speaker to stream music easily. Don't forget about the rotating bezel, it's so genius and I'm glad Samsung was the first to do this. They're always innovating and making the greatest products. The down side I do have for this product is the lack of apps available, I see great potential on this device and what it can live up to. Lastly the coolest thing that i've been able to do with the watch is make contactless payments. It always blows the merchant away when I pay with my watch.

Do not buy this as a sports watch

I have had this watch for 10 months now and I find it frustrating as a sports watch. I am a keen sportsman regularly running and cycling, training about 5 times a week. If you want to use it for serious training you should get a garmin or similar. It basically just displays your time, current speed, heart rate, or calories. The heart rate is useless when you are running, it is accurate when relaxed or walking but regularly gives me a heartrate of 240 on my runs, my chest strap and measurements shows that my max rate is around 170, that's around 40% out. The accuracy of the GPS is pitiful. i did an out and return run 2 days ago and it recorded 11.5 km one way and 10.5 km return on exactly the same route. You cannot tell when the GPS is working and how accurate it is. It only looks to lock on to GPS when you have started your run!! You need it locked on and ready to go before you start. There is also no way to check intervals or plan workouts which should be a fairly basic thing to do. I would say that this is a good substitute for basic watches like the fitbit where you just want to get a rough guide to how many steps you have done. The GPS also seems reasonably accurate when walking so it is a good way to record all activity without having a dedicated sports watch. It's a shame really because some software updates would probably give this watch all the features a serious sportsman needs
