Great watch ..leader of the pack.
Watch is very responsive. It has outstanding battey life even when all functions are active. It can last almost three days with moderate use and wifi in the auto state. The construction is great and it is a very good looking watch. The size is perfect. It is on the large size but not to big for a man.
More than a fad
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I admit that the main thing that held me back from getting a smart watch in the past was the worry that after the novelty had worn off it would become an annoyance rather than a useful tool. I've come to find that it's actually of far more use than I thought it would be. It does all the regular smart watch things like monitoring your heart rate, steps slightly condescending words of encouragement while walking quickly to work "keep going!" It also lets you read and reply to texts, email, whatsapp etc. Answer and make calls. My only bug bear is that for example when you get an email the watch notifies you but you then have to delete the email and then the notification. Beyond that it's brilliant and I am glad I've got it now.
The One To have Samsung Gear 3 Frontier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I am impressed, it works with any android smartphone running android 4.4 and is very easy to set up, being a 70yr old this was great so anyone could do it. It is also IP68 rated so water proof 1.5m for 30mins, so you could take a shower but no swimming. You can answer phone and make calls, this saves fishing your phone out of pockets etc. Read Email, check the weather send texts by using the keyboard or just talk to it which I found works very well.. Comes ready with most apps that you would need and a great health app. Has GPS, Accelerometer, Barometer, HRM, ambient light. So, it knows how many steps, stairs, how far you have and where you have been. Can play MP3 tracks, change tracks and volume on phone. You can download tracks to it as well, change the clock face for every occasion. Good quality lovely screen nice bezel, 3 to 4-day battery life, if always on you get 2 days plus. Takes standard 22mm watch straps. Find 4Gb more than enough storage. No bad points just the price is a bit salty.
Well done Samsung!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a beauty!!! I love the Samsung Gear S3!!! The watch nearly ticks all the boxes and haven't seen any that does. So far the Gear S3 has met my expectations. It has great battery life and all the features I want from a smartwatch. Well done Samsung!! I can't wait to see what you have in store for future smartwatches!!!
Cool watch terrible battery life and support.
Battery was great when new, then 3 weeks in, an update was done and the battery life went to no more than a day before it needed recharged. Support told me i had too many features turned on, so i turned everything off. still only lasted one day. it sits in a drawer now. Worst smart watch ever. Would have been better off buying one from Wish, at least i would get what i expect.
Hey! We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about the Galaxy S3 frontier. The Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier is designed with impressive battery performance, offering up to three days of usage on a single charge. This battery life provides convenience for users who may be on the go and want to stay connected without constantly worrying about recharging. It's important to note that the battery longevity can vary based on several factors. Our measurements are taken in controlled laboratory settings, but actual usage may differ depending on individual device settings, such as screen brightness and connectivity options (like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi). Additionally, how you use the watch—such as the number of notifications received, usage of apps, or fitness tracking—can also impact overall battery performance. Environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity, can further affect battery life. It's important to ensure your watch is up to date with the latest software available. If your watch is paired with a Samsung phone you can use Samsung Members to perform a diagnostic on your watch battery. If it passes the test, you'll know the battery is in good condition. Check out the link attached for additional options that should help optimize your watch's battery life. If this continues to be your experience, please reach out to us at Samsung Support so that we can further assist you. -Kelvin https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01003232/ smsng.us/Samsung-Support smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/X-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Samsung-Care-Plus
Great looking watch still needs improvement
The watch itsself is good. Great design, i love the rotating bezel. One of the best smartwatches out there. I think its a little overpriced since Apps still l need to be developed. I wish it had an app that would notify you when you're getting away from your phone so you wouldnt forget it.
The most perfect watch ... so far.
I'm sure there are many features that still need to happen. I'm sure there are developments yet to be made. But aside from obvious pie in the sky pure sci-fi lunacy like motion capture for VR or augmented reality applications, I can't think of anything that's even remotely attainable. In the realms of what is logistically feasible, this is the best watch you're going to find today. I realized that this watch was really as good as it was after the honeymoon period ended. After I stopped being dazzled, what struck me the most was the COMFORT of it, not just in the tactile sense, but *conceptually*. Let me see if I can explain... Back when I was still using the Gear S1, I came to realize it was a chore. It was a chore accommodating its quirks, it was a chore making sure it was charged, it was a chore trying to navigate its functions and features, it was a chore making sure it had access to my phone's resources, it was a chore managing notifications... It was ESPECIALLY a chore making sure it was charged because the adapter's clasps kept SNAPPING, connectivity for the charger was spotty, I had to use rubber bands or those extra-thick document clips to hold it on. What makes the Gear S3 beautiful is that I DON'T notice it. I don't notice it until I WANT to. And then it's a joy. That is to say, there is no "friction" in its usage. It comes naturally, and Just. Fits. Every time I want to do something with it, it's responsive, intuitive, trivially easy. If I had to go without it, I'd feel a distinct lack in my life. It's integrated itself seamlessly into my routine to become an extension of my experience. The icing on this cake, and the cherry on top, is its interface with the rotating dial. Do you even KNOW how much I've longed for this to be a function of a watch? I remember those cheap digital casio watches that had a fake bezel around the face that was just a static piece with compass marks on it for no discernible reason. I always used to think, this should DO something. I should be able to turn it, to interact with the watch. But I never could... until THIS watch. I can never properly put into words just how DEEPLY SATISFYING it is to turn that bezel and feel it glide smoothly, click distinctly... the way Samsung's engineers integrated it into setting times for timers and alarms, and either dismissing or snoozing, switching between apps and notifications, scrolling... You will fall in love with this watch on first touch, It's that good. Alright, maybe there IS one thing I'd like to see more of: app support. I would like to see more utilities. I feel like the potential of this device is untapped. But there are far worse problems one could have than a wealthy abundance of growing room! I can't help but feel like this device has a bright future.
Cool Watch and more
I worked in manufacturing all my adult life and wearing watches or jewelry was out of the question and with the invention of phones that also had the time on them I felt I didn't have the need of a watch. I'm currently retired but driving a school bus in the mornings only. The bus isn't equipped with a clock. I purchased a couple different cheep stick on the dash clocks. They don't keep good time and you can't see them in the dark. This watch time is always correct plus so much more. Samsung Pay, e-mail and text message visibility without pulling out the phone. and so much more that I haven't figured out just yet. I don't make or receive many phone calls and the couple that I have made or taken I can't remember to use the phone to see how that function works. I've used Samsung Pay several times and it works great. With the otter box case on my smart phone I could never get the Samsung Pay to work so I never used it until I got the watch. I've only had the watch for about 2 to 3 weeks. I like it. The one thing I didn't like was the cheap plastic watch band. I switched it out within a few days. I do mean cheap plastic watch band. It was aggravating to try and put on each morning. Plus it was hot and caused me to sweat where I wore it. It's fall now so it's not blistering hot out and this band was hot. I would recommend Samsung improve the watch with a better band.
Samsung Gear S3 Frontier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For my first smart watch, I must admit, I've been spoilt. Friends have spoken about their devices and I feel in many regards, that the Gear S3 is far superior. The build quality, style and feel exude quality. And the interface and bezel make navigation a breeze. Having been in the market for a new watch for a while, I'm glad that I didn't settle for a bog-standard timepiece and happened upon the Gear S3. That said, when I first received the Gear S3 I was using an iPhone 6. Big mistake. So much functionality is missing when connected to iOS. It's mainly notifications and little else. I wasn't too bothered at the time - as with many iPhone users - I didn't miss what I hadn't realised possible. But, I dug out my Samsung Galaxy S4, and was pleasantly surprised with the level of integration with my texts, emails and call log. I even answered a call on the watch (whilst on the sofa at home). I won't be making a habit of that though. Being able to navigate through text messages, emails and calls using the bezel interface is so easy, and I really like the quick text response feature, and spoken responses too. Replying to other services like WhatsApp and Messenger is good, but I'm surprised there's no stock app for either one. Unless a message is received, there’s no way of navigating through messages. The lack of many mainstream apps is a disappointment, considering Samsung is such a global player. And I was more surprised to find that fundamental apps like a calculator or timer also had to be installed. What's that about?! I would expect such basic apps to be built into the OS. I’m not majorly into exercise, but - I must admit - I’ve been shamed into walking more frequently (as well as taking regular breaks from my desk). Though the reminders are annoying, they appear to have worked on me, somewhat. I quite like the overview of steps, exercise duration, sleep patterns, etc. I fear I’m unnecessarily addicted. :/ My favourite thing is listening to audio streamed from my phone, or the net. I probably won’t bother installing anything on the watch itself, but I like that the facility is provided. I mostly listen to Amazon and Spotify. The navigation is great, and I’m dangerously close to getting premium subscription (as it’s required to use the service without the phone connected). I’ve had it connected to my Bluetooth headphones or standalone speaker, and using the watch to navigate and adjust volume is nice and easy. I could go on. But buy it. You won’t regret it!
Happy but
I've had the watch for a couple of months, it's replacing a Fitbit Surge. It's easy to use and has many customizable screens and settings. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the heart rate monitor. I used my Surge to train in target heart rate zones, and the Gear will at times fluctuate wildly on the heart rate. I once saw it go as high as 210 bpm.
