This camera is a high quality camera. I had used other 360 cameras but have to say the Gear 360 surpasses many in this range. The video quality (which I predominantly use it for) is up there with the best. The photo quality is amazing to and once paired to my S7 edge, it provides great controls and monitoring.

I am writing this review after receiving the camera from the Insiders for review #insidersgear360 the camera has a good quality feel to it but you do have to be careful while handling it not to touch the lenses or you could leave a mark, it does come with a cleaning cloth though. The initial settings on the camera need some adjustment to maximise the quality, first I had to make sure the setting for video was set for 4k video and I limited the ISO to 400 as after testing the default 1600 ISO gave too much noise in the picture. The F2 lens is fast enough for the relatively small sensors to work in low light conditions but I did find the best results were in well-lit or outdoor situations. The camera is very easy to use with its own built in display but to get the best user experience it's best paired with a compatible Samsung phone (I use the S6 edge), with the phone app you can preview the image and set the camera to start/stop recording. Two flashing LEDs indicate you are in record mode (useful if you don't use a phone and press record on the camera. One an image/video has been captured it can be stitched into a 360° video using the phone and previewed and shared online from there. I did find it better and in fact you must use a computer if you want to save video content at the maximum quality and software is provided to stitch the video and do some simple editing. The captured image quality is very good for such a small camera and given the price tag it is very good value for money. I would recommend the camera to anyone wishing to produce 360° content but don't expect the best results by using only a phone to stitch and share the content, you really need to use a PC or Mac to get the best out of this camera.

Meet the future ... HAL 9000 Over 10 days with this little ball of glass, plastic and magic and i really do like it. It has a sort of golf ball meets techno Japanese cartoon character look to it. Very nice tactile feel to the whole unit and an expensive weighty joy about it. The tripod has a satisfying click, led lights glow to indicate power, camera direction and also Bluetooth activity. A small LCD screen gives you an indication, a sort of glimpse into what is going on and what its ready to do. Connect to your latest Samsung Phone (S7 etc) and you take any mystic wonder away and control the little HAL 9000 looking beauty completely, even able to stitch 360 photo and video. In fact its so cleaver that if you also invest in a VR headset you will complete the whole point of the gear 360. Connectivity is simple and can be done without reading the pages of war an peace that usually accompany these little jewels of tech. Overall a great effort by Samsung and no doubt its going to be a BIG seller #insidersgear360

Samsung's Gear 360 is one of the best consumer 360 cameras for Galaxy owners you can get right now. The camera itself is very easy to use. With only three buttons on the camera and its small screen you are able to change the settings and shooting modes, which there are four: Video, Photo, Time-lapse Video and Looping Video. Switch to the mode you want, press the record button on top and the camera does the rest, instantaneously catching the view from the front and rear cameras and merging them into one MP4 video or JPEG photo. It comes with the Action Director software to edit your shots (could be better – needs improvement). All the stitching is complete as you transfer the video and photos from your microSD card onto your computer via the software. The longer your videos are, the LONGER it will take to stitch them together. Limited handset compatibility (I wish it to be compatible with more devices) and ordinary VR video quality It's an exciting addition to mine and my husband's photographic collection and to be able to add a 360 image to my gallery helps set the scene for my other shots.

I believe Samsung has done well with an excellent camera giving you a chance to make your own 360/VR pictures and videos. It is very easy to setup and use. The quality is very good. The only thing that let's it down is the performance between the camera and your phone. Even with the S7 it takes ages to view the live view, transfer videos to the phone etc. I understand the large file sizes, but it's enough to put people off. The software you can use on the computer (which you are given a serial code to use) takes a long time to process the videos. Because you film two videos, the software then joins them. It is not the most user friendly I'm afraid. I'm sure the software side will improve, but Samsung needs to find a faster way to get the live view on your phone and to transfer the files.

This camera is really, really good. The image quality is excellent and the stitching is quick. I've not had any problems with the battery life, comfortably managing a day turning it off and on shooting. My only little annoyance is that once you un-pair the device from the phone, it sometimes doesn't find it again until you close and reopen the app. Uploads to Google are superb quality, Facebook massively compresses them. Sound quality is pretty decent too. For a 1st Gen device, this has really set the bar for 360 photography.

Set-up The Gear 360 arrived nicely packaged and was easy to get started, just insert an SD card, battery and install the Samsung Gear 360 Manager app. (Supports Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Note 5, Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S6, S6 Edge, s6 Edge+) Build The Gear 360 is a bit like a snooker ball, nice and solid and easy to carry around in a pocket, just be careful not to scratch the two lenses. Ease of Use I like that the supplied 3-leg stand can also double as a handle, plus you can easily fit the 360 to any tripod as it uses a standard tripod mount. Photos or video can be taken using the 360 as a stand-alone device, selecting the mode and taking photos by pressing the buttons on the Gear 360 itself (it also has a timer). But if you have a supported Samsung phone, the app allows pictures/video to be taken remotely via Bluetooth from the phone. I found this worked well on the whole, with the occasional delay when trying to connect. The photo/video can be transferred to a PC via a USB cable (make sure the 360 is turned on). Quality Picture quality looked fine when viewing via my VR headset, photos seem to be higher quality than videos. I found the 360 photo quality was much better when using the Oculus 360 photo viewer rather than other VR 360 viewers I tried. On my PC I used the supplied Gear 360 ActionDirector although it would be nice to have native Windows support for the format. App The app does a good job but I found two issues with it: • It would not show photos saved to my phone on the "mobile device" tab. • You can't save to the phone's SD card, which is a shame considering how much space the video takes up! Summary Overall I have found the Gear 360 to be a solid device, that is easy to use. I am not sure I would use it on a regular basis like my phone, but can see it being great for holiday photos or for taking photos inside a house prior to selling it. The phone app does need the ability to save to an SD card though. If a future phone has 360 photo capability, I could see it really taking off.

It's a quality product, built very well and feels solid. The Camera setup was very easy with my S7 edge, Quick app download and I was up and running in minutes. I took a few test videos straight away; it's very easy to use. Even without the app it's very simple using the buttons on the camera. The cam beeps to let you know you have pressed record and it has bright LED's on both sides to let you know what lens you are recording on. The video quality is very good. Camera has 4 operation modes Video, Photo, Time lapse and video looping. You can also switch between using front, rear or both lenses. Samsung opted to use standard screw size for the mounting giving you lots of options. overall I'm very happy with it.

The gear 360 camera is a well made device. It has got a sturdy construction whilst still being beautiful. The colors and overal design is luxurious and pretty. The camera is very easy to use, with a few menu options which are not confusing. Operating it using a Samsung phone is very easy and staryightfoward. The photos and videos are awesome. The only downside is that I would have wanted a longer battery life on this camera. A few hours is not enough. I want to be able to go outdoors for the whole day, and be able to capture videos until the sun comes down. However, I understand that the easiest solution would be to carry a few spare batteries.

Before I received the GEAR360, I always wondered how it would look in person. In pictures it ‎looked rather impossibly small for such a high quality device. Once I received it though I was ‎astonished to find out it looked better than I thought it'll be – small and pocketable, even coming ‎in a lovely pouch to help you carry it around. I was impressed by its small, simple yet strong and ‎beautiful design.‎ After unboxing, using the camera itself was pretty straightforward. With three buttons, I was easily ‎able to navigate different moods, take pictures and record content on the go. The photo quality of ‎the Gear 360 was beautiful, 2x15MP to provide a stunning 30MP 360 still image. Video quality and ‎stitching made an amateur like me feel like a pro. Longer videos needed more time to compress ‎and transfer, however, after the wait, I was excited to share and impress. Too long of a video will ‎cut the videos into smaller 8 minute chunks. ‎ Owning a Galaxy smartphone proves to be useful to its spherical companion with a dedicated app ‎from the App store. I found the app to be both useful and efficient alongside the Gear360. The app ‎is full-featured – allowing you to live record, take 360 stills and playback content on the Gear VR. ‎ Sharing 360 content from the Gear360 is easily achievable by the app. However, if you have the ‎images and videos stored on the SD card, I was glad to discover a lot of social networks have added ‎support for 360 content.‎ To conclude, the Gear 360 is a dazzling device that's ready for any consumer that's willing to ‎explore the 360 market, or simply wants to create dream-like captures. I loved the camera thanks ‎to the quality of the dual cameras, solid portable build and features. ‎
