Best rawhide chew!

These are the only rawhide chews my dog will use. Yes, they are a bit easier to chew apart than others, but they don’t have the chemicals that the others have. These are easy to digest and they have been keeping my dog’s teeth clean for 5 years now. My dog is absolutely addicted to these, but won’t touch another brand.

grateful

I usually buy the Pork Chomps brand from Chewy, but they were out of stock for a long time and I had to get my dogs something. I’m grateful Sam’s had these. They are cheaper too. My dogs will eat them, but I can tell they liked the Pork Chomps better.

Warning ...Dangerous Hazard to your pet!!

These new bones have a core of several scraps of rawhide wrapped up into a roll. It breaks apart into sharp shards and splinters that could easily puncture you pets throat or stomach etc. I returned mine to SAMs for a refund... no problem. WARNING ... DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!

Giant breed dog

Our 110-pound aggressive chewer eats one of these almost daily. I worry about tummy issues, but the vet said that as long as he's not swallowing big chunks, he's fine. It takes him an average of 40 minutes to get through an entire hide, and it does leave a residue where he lays and on his front paws. But no loose stools or upset tummy from what we can tell. Great product at a reasonable price.

Probably needs supervision

I want to get them for my dog because he loves them, but I'm not altogether sure these are safe. I've seen him try to chew pieces that come off and end up swallowing them before they are completely broken down. He doesn't throw them up, but he gets sick and won't eat for a day or more until hopefully it passes through his body. I'm concerned about him having those large indigestible pieces inside his stomach and intestines and hoping that they don't tear anything while they're in there.

My American Bullboxer LOVES these

When my dog was teething, he would go through these in a few minutes, but now he takes a little more time with them. The bits that break off while they're dry are not really a problem, as he'll go back and vacuum them up himself when he finishes the main event. After he's slobbered on these for a few minutes, bits don't really break off anymore. Anything that may be left over is easy to suck up with a vacuum cleaner. I'd rather have him eating these than the old unbreakable rawhides that could clog up his digestive system. It would be nice if they were less expensive, but they are a quality product.

My dog wasn't a fan

I bought these with high hopes for my harrier that loves chewing any plastic he finds and he just carries it around but won't chew it. Frustrating since I read such good reviews but I guess it is hit or miss if your dog will chew it. He obviously values it but I had to cover in peanut butter and soak in broth just so he would try to chew it.

Premium beef hides

My dogs absolutely love these. I would have given the rating a 5 star but am disappointed with the Lexington store since they apparently have quit selling them. So now I have to drive to the next town or order online. Either way, it will cost me more money.

not as good as in the past

used to buy these a few years ago but the dogs got older so I stopped. They passed away and now I have younger dogs that are in the chewing stage of life. Bought these. They seem much more brittle and broke into small pieces as they were chewing them. I threw them out because I was afraid that a bigger piece would break off and choke them. Certainly a value as to price but not sure of the safety factor.

Broken teeth

My dogs loved these things, so I just kept getting them. But, after taking the corgi in for broken teeth, I checked my giant mutt dog, and he also has a slab fracture on his canine. This sucks man. One dog is 2 years old, and the other is 6, yet it broke teeth on both of them. They don't have any hard toys, and these are the only things they chew on. I feel so bad. Please don't get these for your dog. Do better than I did.

While we are certainly sorry to hear about your dog's teeth, the chances of this being due to rawhide is extremely low. Rawhide naturally softens as dogs chew on it, making it one of the safest longest-lasting chews on the market. Unlike formulated treats that do not rehydrate, rawhide naturally rehydrates through the chewing process and would almost certainly not have caused the broken teeth. We would be glad to discuss this situation if you would kindly call the number on the back of the bag.
