Gel deep cycle batteries at great price

I replaced the Deka brand AGMs in my GEM cart with these Duracells. So far/so good. Dekas are over $200 more(each)The weight of these seems to be comparable to the Dekas. Heavier means better when it comes to batteries .

Second set. Use as house batteries in a large RV.

First set lasted 5.5 years and were heavily used (300+ days per year) in an RV we use in business. Great batteries, well made, last long.

Going On My 3rd Year

I purchased 4 of these to use as a house bank on my boat. While AGM batteries are good for being used as deep cycle batteries, it is still important not to discharge them more than 50%. The greater the discharge, the lower amount of times they can cycled. Prior to this purchase of AGM's I used flooded deep cycle batteries, group 27. I would remove those batteries during the winter to keep them in my garage and put a charger on them once a month. Theses AGM batteries are roughly 80 pounds each; about 15-20 pounds heavier than the deep cycle. AGM's do not self-discharge nearly the amount of flooded wet cell batteries. I now keep the batteries in the boat over winter and saves me a lot of grief. Come spring when I have AC power, I can use the battery charger to top them off. The first year I was surprised how very little charging they needed. Keep in mind that I am charging all 4 at once; they are connected in parallel. My remote charging panel showed 40 amps (I have a 40 amp, 3 stage charger# and within a minute or so dropped to 20 amps #roughly 5 amps per battery#. 10 to 15 minutes later the charging current was down to 10 amps #2.5 amps per battery). So letting the batteries set for 5-6 months over winter took less than 15 minutes to charge. I expect to get at least 7-10 years out of these batteries versus 4-5 years for the flooded deep cycle. Treat these batteries correctly, no more than 50% discharge, good 3 stage charger, and battery temperature sensor, and they should be trouble free for many years. The only gripe I have is the totally lack of information on the voltages for recharging them. I set my charger to the AGM mode. It would be great if the manufacture specified what the voltage should be and specified battery temperatures.

Much better than expected

I bought a pair of these 3 years ago. We do a lot of dry camping and use the batteries heavily, keeping a Dish Sat receiver on 24 hrs / day. Charge up 2 or 3 times a day with a Honda gen, can easily go 10 days w/o hookups. One other brand is better, costs $400 elsewhere. I'll buy these again if they fail before we do.

A great battery at a big savings

I use this battery to power an inverter for back up on my sump pump. Boaters and RV owners rave about the cost as it is 25% less then any AGM battery of this size, on the market. Sears offers a 24 month warranty, Sam's an 18 month. But for the savings, well worth the difference. Be prepared for a $15 - $16 core charge if you have no old battery to turn in. This is common practice for all car batteries no matter where they were purchased.

Commercial fishing vessel using 10 of these babies

Recently built a new vessel, commercially shopped around for batteries, wound up getting these from Sam's! I am using 3 sets of them linked in series for 24VDC and 2 for 12V auxiliary engine starting. Highly reccommended. Hint: These batteries need the new style battery chargers that will not overcharge them.

Great battery!

I purchased two of these for my class A motor home. I hooked them in parallel which replaced the two wet cell batteries. Now I do not worry about checking water levels. The first day I installed them I ran the motor homes ventilation fan for about 6 hours and the battery charge panel showed that they were still close to fully charged.

Not an RV battery

I bought this for a 2 week dry camping trip in the Smokies to replace a smaller size 27 Harris wet battery. Performance was generally disappointing in my 27’ RV under light loads of periodic use for 1-2 LED fixtures, water pump, and appliances that require a little DC to start the propane gas up (Fridge, Water heater). I would kill the generator at 8pm and fully charged, are above usage started until maybe 11pm. I turned off everything before bed. By morning my battery monitor was frequently reporting 40-50% remaining. This is not a true RV deep cycle battery. It’s a hybrid with both cranking and cycling design. I believe a pure deep cycle battery is a better way to go. This one will save you some money if you want an AGM to replace an older, smaller wet battery.

Did not last

I purchased two of theses batteries. One stopped excepting a charging at 25 months. The other one is still working going on 30 months. Both of my batteries are on a continuous charging system in between fishing trips. I put a lot of research in to this battery. Was hoping for better.
