I've purchased the original recipe several times. These are a great on the go snack to get more protein in each day. I buy the boxes with the 2.5oz pkgs and keep them in my desk at work. I love the flavor and the texture and that they're not full of junk ingredients.

I agree with those who were disappointed to learn that the package must be refrigerated (in small print!). Also, learning from Duke's responses, that even after refrigeration, the contents should be consumed within 5 days! As a single guy who doesn't eat so rapidly, these facts would have kept me from buying. AND, as a single guy who hates to throw out anything still good, here's the BIG question: is the white mold that has appeared, harmful? Or is it like the similar mold often seen on sausages, and ok to eat? Or maybe brush off and eat? And I concur with those who complain that the product is not prominently labelled as pork. I'd have tried it anyway, but for some, that is a real problem. Please reply to my email, re: advisability of eating the sausages, even though moldy.

I just got a bag of the original Shortys yesterday! Wow, they are delicious. They had a wonderful smoothly blended flavor!! The only problem I had with them was that they ran out(the bag was gone within an hour!!) LOL! Very good product. I like the small batch concept as well!!

I just got a bag of these sausages for the first time and when I opened the bag it smelled like an overdose of preservatives. Then I took a bite out of one and it didn't taste anything like a smoked sausage. It tasted worse than it smelled so I tried to give it to my dogs and they wouldn't even eat it that's just how bad they taste

These are so good. I love refrigerating them and eating them cold. I love looking at the ingredient list on the back and not seeing anything that I don’t know what it is. Duke, you are an artist. Thank you for this delicious and protein packed snack.

I bought this for the first time and was skeptical as I've tried many different products. Unlike other reviews I saw on your website, I found them moist and very tasteful. I enjoyed them very much and love that you are able to make them so enjoyable, yet keep the carbs and sugar very low. As a diabetic, these are perfect, thanks so much and keep it up!!!

But these sausages are delicious. If you are watching your carbs or not, these are a great go to snack. There's lots of "meat stick" snacks out there but most are greasy and full of junk. The texture and flavor of these Shorty sausages is something you would expect to find from a local small batch craft butcher. I'm really impressed and love the fact that there are no added nitrates. When I'm not watching my carbs so much they pair great with your favorite craft brew. :-) Looking forward to trying other flavors as well.

I tried this because I was looking for a no to low carb snack. Jerky has sugar added, Tastes like bland sausage. Could not taste the smoke. Put them in a smoker for a couple of hours with some hickory. Did not help (?synthetic casing?). Had 3 total. Rest to the neighbor's dog.

I like these (I'm referring to the Original Flavor Duke's Shorty Sausages). Flavor is good - not as smoky as I'd like but I can live with it. Lean, tender, nice size for helping you with portion control. I have read the all other customer reviews, some of which made mention of the presence of mold. I've been through about 7 packages so far, and have not had this problem. But it IS something to be aware of, and as such I will keep an eye out for it and be careful to hang on to my receipt if there's a problem.

First time so bought your original dukes ssusages I was impressed and remained impressed for a year or so and my grandson loved them also but lately they are not like the first ones I loved Texture of casing seems tougher and my grandson does not look forward as rd to them anymore Seems a shame but if quality continues to go down I will we hit purchasing
