Air compressor failed after 3rd tire.

The compressor stopped working after the 3rd tire. I was adding about 5 psi to each tire. It was working great until it stopped working on the 4th tire. I thought it was low on battery so I charged it up and it still didn't work. I only got to use it twice since having it. The first time was to help a co-worker jumped start his vehicle and the second time was adding 5 psi each to three tires on my vehicle.

Bad battery has very low output Don't buy

I charged as per instruction. IT only has only 200 amp it is new right out of the box. Will not jump a car. It is only good for charging a cell phone. Customer service would not help. I was told o ship it to Florida and they will fix it in 2 month's. Shipping would cost almost what I paid for it. [So I HAVE A BIG PHONE CHARGER] No more Stanley for me

A fantastic unit with fine battery life.

This is an excellent jump starter, despite the numerous complaints about battery life and charge woes--I have a great and automatic solution for this, which I found online. The battery complaints all result from the same two issues: 1. Over charging the battery by leaving plugged in for too long, or 2. Under charging the battery by leaving it unplugged for too long. If you follow the manufacturer's charge specifications, which for this unit is 40 hours of charge every 30 days, the unit is extremely reliable. Of course, no one can possibly keep up a charging routine this rigorous by memory or habit. Inevitably we forget to plug it in or to unplug it and then the internal battery sustains irreversible damage. To fix this problem forever, I purchased a Charge-o-matic device online. This inexpensive device plugs in between the wall outlet and your jumpstart box. Set the hours knob to 40 hours and the days knob to 30 days. Press START. You're done with battery maintenance forever! It even picks up where it left of if there is a power outage. It's so easy, it's stupid. Stanley's made a great unit here, it's just that folks aren't following the directions. Trust me, with the 1200 peak amps and alternator check feature, it's actually a very good value.

Junk

I bought one for myself and used it once for a tire and thought it was so great I bought all 3 of my kids one. Mine won't charge, one the compressor never worked and one shuts off when you use it. Can't say the last one works or doesn't work since my daughter hasn't used hers. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Saved my bacon

I have had the same unit but was the previous design and I bought at Sams about 3+ years ago, this thing has been so helpful. My son was away at school out of state in Ohio and I gave to him to take while there, in the winter, sure enough he could not get his truck started and with this was able to jump start his truck and drive to a parts store and buy a battery to avoid having to hire someone to come start him or transport him to buy a battery, I have use it to charge my cell phone, and have aired up tires on my truck, car and motorcycle as have helped friends and neighbors and co-workers get vehicles started, it's a little big to carry in a car everyday and I have a small portable jump box I have since purchased but this is the best $70 I ever spent. Someone complained it did not have the extension cord to use as a charge cable, it uses a standard extension cord so not a big deal as I have several around the house already but yes you need a regular extension plug, one with a single female plug to plug into the unit to recharge, my unit is going on 4 years old.

Worthless

Bought two of these. Both had the same problem after about 6 months. Electronics are total crap. The display screen and buttons on one went out, so you couldn't tell if it was charged or pick a feature. It couldn't be recharged because the electronic screen wouldn't show anything. The other one had the little light kept coming on at random, and display screen wouldn't work, and the control buttons wouldn't work, so you couldn't turn off the light. Battery kept dying because I couldn't turn off the light. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Total cheap piece of crap. Worthless as a gift unless you want to buy for someone you hate!

Not bad but not great

This unit has gotten me out of a jam on a few occasions. The compressor works great and even has a feature where you can set the desired pressure and start the compressor and it will shut off when it reaches the set pressure. Now the downside. The box is roughly over a year old and it seems the battery is getting weak. I have tried to use it recently to jump off a ram 1500 and it didn't have enough power. The unit showed full charge before I started and instantly went all the way down to low battery after the first try. I like the product just feel it could use some improvements. Would be awesome to see a version that can be operated off of a drill battery. Also not much info can be found online about the tool.

Save your money, buy something else

I bought this a few years ago (mine is a 1000). Air compressor is very slow, but at least it works, kind of. At least I can get an emergency jump when needed, it'll still be worth the price. Today I tried to use the jump start feature. NOPE. No go. Battery gauge says full charge, but it will not jump start my pickup... just a few clicks, not even close to the power needed. I'm just thankful that I tried the jump feature with my truck parked in front my house. I bought this for Jeeping. Thankfully I didn't need it when there was no option b. Now I own an expensive cell phone charger.

Power station

I'm a Stanley Tool Box customer, I buy Fatmax and regular tools of all kinds, but when Menards sold their products I bought a new battery charging station that never worked, I was so angry I threw it away! Now I'm afraid to buy a new one and have it break down soon after. I think the brand has lost its reputation for electrical products based on all the comments I've seen.

Really Disappointed customer

I purchased a unit and used it a few times. Worked fine. Now the unit doesn't hold a charge and the air compressor fails to Work. Shame on the seller of this product. It's should be advertised as operial for only a few times. Shame on you!!!
