Awful

My son bought 2 bags of the pecan halves. I did not see them or would not have bought them. They are old and taste rancid. I'm like others, what happened to the young pecans you use to carry in the produce section. Very disappointed in Sam's.

Did not receive twice.

I ordered with three other items, received them not the nuts. I called and customer service was very nice and sent a replacement. Tracking shows it came to my home - it did not. I am disabled and the first time i was sitting in my living room when the first order came. My nephew immediately got up to get, so no chance someone stole it. Very aggravating!!!

Don't Waste Your Money !

Why, oh why didn't i read the reviews on this product before buying these pecans ! They are soft and tasteless - taking them back for refund today. I have ordered from Atwell Pecan Co for years but have run out and thought these would be good since I have always been happy with Sams Club but I cannot justify spending $15.98 on a product I cannot use.

Mine Are Good

Reading the other reviews, I can only assume I have been lucky? I have always had good tasting, and fresh tasting pecans. The price is roughly half of what the grocery stores charge. I eat 2 ounces per day for what some people say will improve your health.

Dreadful - last two bags returned!

Since Sam's Club begin selling the pecans under their own "Member's Mark" brand, these pecans have become far worse and we have had to return the last two bags we purchased (one was rancid and the other had a flat, stale taste). I did receive a refund for both bags after two chat sessions, but felt that I deserved a little extra compensation, after all of my time and trouble with two bags in a row. The last chat agent claimed that he could not offer anything extra, though. Makes me question why I am paying a membership fee to shop here. We will have to purchase our pecans at another store, evidently. Sam's has let us down on this item! If Sam's happens to again sell the pecans under a name brand, we might try them again.

All dried up

i bought these 3 weeks ago - i wish i had returned them. So many were broken up, but the worst was most of them were dried out and flat. Just at terrible batch. I thought purchasing in the fall / winter would assure freshness, but I was wrong. So disappointing Sam's and whoever their supplier is.

More bad pieces than good

These pecans used to be so good. The last two bags I got were terrible. More bad black pecans that tasted disgusting than the good ones. You pay $14 a bag and only half are edible...this makes for a very expensive bag of pecans. You must weed through the bad ones and look at everyone before putting into your mouth or you get a nasty surprise. These would be a nightmare to cook with. I definitely do not recommend buying these and I won't ever again. .

worth the price

Look at the expiration date! It is about a year from the date they were packaged. If it is close, be vigilant. Look at the pecans in the package. If there any moldy ones, don’t buy them. We have seen lots of bad Pecans here, but we only buy the good ones. Fresh pecans aren’t crisp. You have to crisp them. This is a great deal. We buy many bags of these pecans every year and have never been disappointed.

Not too bad for us

Like some others who have left good reviews seems it is surprising that these pecans are ever good but we go through about 1 bag a month and have not had a problem. They are nothing extraordinary but definitely tasty and not dry at all. We store ours in the freezer to keep fresh and usually roast or use them in baking stuff. These are half the price elsewhere so the value is very good. I would recommend you give them a shot and see for yourself if they are good or not. Sams is very good about refunds if they turn out not to your liking.

Many more defects than usual, hence a low price

These pecans have a lot more rotted out, black, rancid-tasting pieces than usual. I've bought several bags of this brand at different times; they're always the same. I have to pick through them to remove the off-tasting, slightly blackened, softened pecans, which effectively cancels out the cost savings. From now on I'm will stick with other brands, even if they cost more.
