I have purchased Daily Chef pecans for many years from Sams. This year the bag I bought was horrible. Many of them were not ripe and had no meat. Many of them were too ripe and so hard you could not cut them in half. I haven't even gotten through the entire bag yet and have thrown out at least two cups of bad pecans.

These pecans are awful. This is the second bag of Daily Chef Fancy Pecan Halves that I've purchased recently. Both were unfit to eat. I would guess that these pecans are well over a year old. My Father-In-Law had pecan trees and the fresh pecans were delicious. These pecans are Stale, Disgusting, Rotten. I called 1-888-301-0332, the number on the back of the product. Initially the agent told me to take them back to the store but I held out for a Supervisor. I gave her the numbers on both bags and they checked my purchase history to assure I really bought these items. I am to be emailed a gift card/certificate for the value of these items. Still a waste of time and money.

It’s hit or miss with these pecans. They used to always be of good quality. I like to eat these as a snack. Out of the last three bags, only one had the quality they should have. The other two had too many that were very dry and had very little taste.

Stale Pecans

I eat pecans about five times per week and have been purchasing bags of pecans from Sam's Club for many years. Daily Chef is the only brand offered at our club (at this time) and I am extremely disappointed in quality and value. Almost half of the pecans found in this 2 LB bag are dried up, have black spots and/or bitter or rancid tasting. I have purchased 3 bags and they were all the same poor quality. I thought I just had a bad batch the first bag and gave it another try. I will be calling the toll free number and/or email using the "feedback" icon and ask for a refund. Bring back the other brand!!

I love pecans. To find such a large quantity at such a low price has made me a very happy person. Now I can put pecans in everything! I believe they used to be more just a few months ago, but at this price you can't go wrong. They are a good quality too. You may occasionally get a piece that still has a small bit of shell on it, but that's better than paying 2 or 3 times the price. I'll gladly sift through the 2 pounds! Keep it up Sam's!

Up until a year or so ago, when we bought the "Daily Chef" branded 32 oz packages of pecan halves, they were consistently excellent. Sweet, juicy, with an excellent pecan flavor. But when they switched to being branded "Member's Mark" they most certainly are NOT the same, despite what they say above. Out of three batches we've bought at our club, two have been outright rancid, and the one batch that wasn't overtly rancid is, at best, stale... borderline rancid. You can tell they've either been stored improperly for a very long time, or they were somehow bad when packaged. The rancid smell is apparent immediately upon opening the package before you even try tasting them. The last pack, which I just bought a few days ago, has a "best if used by" date that is two months SOONER than the package I got a few months ago! And, it's rancid. It, like another batch, is goung back for a refund. I'm giving up on Sams as a source for pecans. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, I must be a complete fool! Well, never again. The price is hard to beat, but the nuts are stale at best, and often rancid, at least at our club.

I bought Daily Chef 2# pecan halves on 12/14/2015 for holiday cooking. They ruined my holiday cooking! I had bought some of these pecans recently and they were great but not this bag. They tasted terrible! (old?). The best by date is 7-01-2016, SN-SS-SN Vendor 577775. The package says quality is guaranteed and comments/complaints should be directed to the toll free number or this website. I usually buy local pecans but since I had bought these earlier and they were very good I trusted using these in my holiday cooking. A very wasteful, expensive lesson. Had to give it 1 star but didn't deserve even 1!

HORRIBLE is the only way to describe these pecans. I tried them on 2 different occasions, several months apart, and they were HORRIBLE both times. I'll go without Pecans before I'd buy another bag of these Pecans. I've come to expect much more from Sam's products. I'd be ashamed to put my name on these.

I've bought these for many years but the last bag I bought is dry and half of them have black spots all over them. I'll stop buying them and just wait until next year to see if they are as good as they used to be. I've included pictures so everyone can see what I mean. They are just awful!!!
