This is a fantastic product and it is the same as found in MANY commercial environments such as Fast Food and Fine Dining Restaurants alike, and now you can have one in your home!
If you take proper care of it, this thing could last you a lifetime! And make sure folks know how to use it to dispense the hot or cold beverage properly, pushing too roughly or too hard on the pump handle could cause breakage and make the airpot useless.
Always use the entire palm of your hand and press down LIGHTLY, it doesn't take much force to dispense the beverage inside.
And pressing too hard or too fast could cause a bad burn on your hand, fingers, or arm as the beverage is dispensed. If too hard or too fast, the beverage WILL splatter out of the cup and onto you or possibly someone or a pet nearby.
So make sure children that may use this are supervised so they don't get burned!
We use one of these at my Church, been using it there for years, then I found one at Sam's and bought one for my own use at home.
Because they are great, especially when the interior is glass because it does keep the coffee hot all day, well over 10-15 hours, even had coffee from mine the next day and it was still very warm, not as hot as I like, but warm, 30 seconds in the microwave fixed that, but the point being I didn't have to brew another pot of coffee, it stayed warm enough for about 5 hours, so coffee was in mine for well over 22 hours and STILL WARM!
The cleaning instructions I agree are a bit tedious, but, honestly, I found them ridiculous, there is no reason to go through all that as suggested.
Why?
Because cleaning it is easier than how they want you to do it in the directions.
I have actually used these in restaurants as well as at our church and now at my own home, they are VERY EASY to clean, you DO NOT need to go through all that hype in the booklet, extremely hot and mild soapy water in the carafe {glass bottle/bottom} part of it, swish it around, either with a very soft, NON-ABRASIVE bottle brush{like a micro-miniature mop material} or just hold it in your hands and swirl it around, either way will work, dump out the hot, soapy water, and then run more extremely hot water in it, drain and rinse until all traces of soapy water is gone from the interior.
Cleaning the top part interior, just run hot water over it and use a soft rag and wipe down. Allow both parts to drain and air dry, within a couple hours reassemble and time for another use.
As for the Stainless Steel exterior, I just wipe it down and it cleans off very easily with a soft rag and hot water.
All in all, it only takes me about 5-10 minutes to clean my airpot. I love it, it's a great thing to have in the kitchen, especially for multiple coffee drinkers or when having guests over.
These work great for dispensing Hot Chocolate too, but takes a little more cleaning when using that beverage, especially if it contains mini-marshmallows, which I DO NOT recommend, use only Hot Chocolate mixes WITHOUT the added marshmallows mixed in the package for best results, as the mini-marshmallows CAN AND WILL clog the pump. Then you WILL have to disassemble the top to clean it and that could be an issue for some folks. Add your marshmallows in your cup if you want to add them to your Hot Chocolate, you'll be very happy you added them in this manner, then cleaning isn't as difficult. Believe me, I know and speak from experience! LOL
Again, great product, inexpensive, well worth the price and a product I can honestly recommend in good faith to everyone that could use one or have need of such a nice appliance for their kitchen.
