My company has been using this tape exclusively for years - tens of thousands of packages shipped - and loved the small size, ease of use and quality of what this tape USED to be. Over the past few months, the tape changed - it now says "40 times stronger" and feels very different (thinner and slicker), which would be fine except that when the "new" tape is used on standard kraft shipping boxes it doesn't stay stuck!!! Really 3M? What the heck good is shipping tape that comes untaped on its own from shipping boxes??? Extremely disappointed in the changes to this product and that we are going to have to switch to another type of tape.

Scotch Heavy Duty does the job in one strip! I am impressed with the gauge thickness and hold, very good job Scotch.

I ship virtually every day of the week, hence, I go through a lot of tape. I've been using Scotch brand tape for years without ever having any issues. In the last few months, I've noticed a huge different in the quality of the product. My first issue is that occasionally the cardboard center of the tape roll is distorted....my only recourse is to not use the tape dispenser and manually cut by hand....a major inconvience. Second, the quality of the tape itself seems to be substandard....it can easily be peeled off any package it's used on. My packing cartons look pristine....no glue residue, no cardboard is removed with the tape. I don't know what has changed in recent months. My description of this product if someone asked would be to say it was "removable tape." I rely on shipping tape to secure packages...the fact that it can be so easily peeled off is completely unsatisfactory. I purchase multipacks....this issue is now present consistently with each roll....poor adhesion to say the least.

My husband sends many packages & has a tendency to overdue it with packing tape. It's always been a joke in the house how much he uses. Your tape both enables my husband to feel secure that his package will reach its destination in one piece while I don't have to worry about the expense of him using just about a roll on every package. Scotch heavy Duty Packaging Tape seals seams with just one strip of tape- even on bulky surfaces. The tape is easy to dispense and apply. The dispenser cuts cleanly - a bonus! The other quality I like about this tape is that it is clear so it can easily be used over labels without fear of covering important shipping information. The strong adhesive quality of this tape along with the ease of dispensing and application make this an economical and reliable tape to use for packages.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the tape to purchase when you need to be absolutely sure the tape will secure those boxes & packages you either put in the mail or use for moving. And it stays in place much longer than other tape, irregardless of weather conditions.

There is a silver tape which you would think would lift up to immediately start the roll but not so. You have to cut through the tape and lose some of the first part of the roll due to that. What is the point of having a starter section when it doesn't?
