Coffee beans

I love getting my own beans to grind and love it and gotta find the amount to put in to make because it can get too strong and give it a bitter taste and i found my sweet spot

Always in my house

I like a good dark roast, which the Espresso is. I drink a couple of other Starbuck's Dark Roast, but the Espresso is my go to coffee. Whether in the press, the stove-top espresso maker, or the drip pot, it is excellent coffee. I usually have a bag of both regular and decaf beans, depending on my needs.

Forgettable.

Blatantly, this coffee is not good. Compared to other coffees you can get in the same price range, this one misses the mark and carries the price tag because of the Starbucks name. After cupping this coffee I can verify it is one of my least favorite coffees I've had in a while. I'm not a fan of dark roasts usually, with a couple exceptions, but this is the reason why. Starbucks has roasted this coffee beyond recognition, ruining the hard work of their farmers and suppliers by burning their coffee so harshly that the taste us unrecognizable. This is the reason the beans are so oily, by the way. Nevertheless, my theory for such a disgustingly dark roast is that they believe the long roast time will cover any inconsistencies while growing the coffee. i.e. complexities in altitude, reliable processing, excessive fermentation, etc. could cause different flavors in the coffee, therefore roasting it so hard that there is no flavor will fix it right up. It's pretty shocking how dark this coffee is, but compared to the raw shoe rubber flavor of their Italian roast, at least this one is bearable.

Rich

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tend to enjoy my espresso when it’s rich and dark. This espresso roast is exactly what I look for in flavor. The coffee is rich and indulgent, with a nutty dark chocolate flavor. I like my morning espresso with three shots and a dash of almond milk. The almond milk takes just the right amount of acidity out of it. I also love that it comes pre ground because it takes a step out of the mix for me. #ad

New pods a bit smaller

I have to agree with the people saying these espresso pods taste like an espresso made from a high end espresso machine. My husband use to go to SB everyday even when I would brew SB at home. After I started using the Verisimo and espresso pods ( strong yet not bitter) he drinks his coffee at home. I did notice a small change in taste with the repackaging of the pods now in the darker box. I compared them to an old box and they do have a smaller amount of coffee than previously. Maybe the change was due to the new machine and I don't have that new machine.

cappuccinno or "brewed" cup

I use the pods either for espresso longo-based cappuccino (with Nespresso frother) or 6-7 ounce taller brew to which I add a half ounce of half-and-half. The flavor and body is so much better than any Keurig coffee. I like that I can control the amount of coffee and brew according to what I'm in the mood for.

BEST EVER

Having recently moved to an area that does not have a Starbuck''s store was devestating! The opportunity to order it online and have it delivered has been a lifesaver! Espresso Roast is our favorite blend and it arrived fresh and as wonderful tasting as ever.

Of course I would buy this product again

I have been buying this product for many years. Time to time again I can see a defect on pods like it got bursted. But my last purchase one had more happened any other times. It made me frustrated in the morning when I'm ready for work. I ended up making another one again.

Love my verisimo! Beware of subscription!

I make a white mocha peppermint latte or white mocha latte. I put 1 1/2 cups of organic milk in measuring cup, microwave for 2 mins and use a good whipping wand to make a good amount of froth. But 2 shots of espresso in w syrups. Use spoon to hold back froth. Stir mild in w other ingredients, stir, add the froth on top. This latte to me is better than buying it.

Excellent coffee

At times I will try other coffees, however, nothing is as good as Starbucks espresso roast. Only Illy comes a close second. The espresso roast makes fantastic latte's on my Jura machine. Drinking a nice cup of coffee is one of the best parts of my morning.
