I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth this roast is; strong (but not bitter) with just the right amount of acidity. If you like a full-bodied dark roast, I recommend you give this one a try.

So when can we expect Sumatra Decaf whole beans back in the stores. I have been drinking this coffee for a decade, decaf by doctor's orders. Much to my surprise I have been told the company has discontinued. I bought all that was available in my community and am now nearly out. Would really like to see it back.

This coffee not only tastes better than any other coffee I've tried - rich, smooth, full of flavor without being bitter - but it also is lower acid. Therefore, I am able to make a pot of strong coffee and drink as much as I want without any negative effects on my digestive system! Former casual coffee drinkers and even a few non-coffee drinkers who have tasted this coffee at my home are now also converts. Thank you, Starbucks, for a truly satisfying delight!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Starbucks Sumantra Coffee #freesample and it had a bold smoky flavor. I tried it plain and the smoky flavor I could tolerate but when I added powered creamer it intensified the smoky flavor which I didn't like. This Starbucks ground coffee wasn't my favorite one.

I was pleasantly surprised by this roast of coffee, I am a regular espresso drinker and was given Sumatra as a gift. It is my new favourite roast! I will buy this from now on for use in my espresso machine. The bold flavourful roast makes my espresso taste bland....it is simply amazing! If you have not tried this kind of coffee try it now!
