[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These particular joint health supplements are for small dogs, mine is a 4-year-old 12 pound Chihuahua mix. She has had arthritis since she was about two. In the cold weather she is in a lot of pain. She quite literally won't move unless she has to. I started her on these about a week ago, and they seem to be helping her. She isn't too reluctant to go out and doesn't seem to hold up her back leg (she swaps out from one to the other) as much. It's a little early to tell if this is really going to overcome her problems, but so far so good. I do have to say these chews stink to me and she won't eat them unless I cut one up into about 6-8 pieces and hide them in her wet dog food. But there have been other chews I've tried that she wouldn't eat even if I chopped them up in her wet food, so at least she is eating them and they have a chance to help her. I plan to continue these as the weather gets colder. I hope the longer she takes them, the better she feels. I would recommend these.

I give to my small dog for help with joints and mobility. He’s had a knee issue since I’ve had him. He didn’t like them initially, but after a few days, he gladly started taking them. I can even hide medicine in them when prescribed by his Vet. I also greatly appreciate the much lower cost on walmart.com compared to pet store chains. I don’t know yet if this supplement has had a positive impact on his health and well-being. His Vet approved of my decision to feed him healthy supplements. Will re-order and continue as a preventive supplement.

At the age of 7, he was moving slower and I began adding the soft chews to his daily diet. The results were amazing! Chance has crossed over the rainbow bridge now but his pal, Rosie is now up there in years also. At seven, she is having trouble with her hind legs from a birth defect and she somedays limps with her right hind leg, so I decided to get her the Cosequin Supplement Minis (Big Support for Little Dogs). On the label, it states #1 Veterinarian Recommended Brand. Maximum Strength with MSM for mobility, cartilage, and joint support. plus Omega-3s for healthy skin and coat. The soft little chews are designed for small mouths and my little girl is part Pomeranian and part Rat Terrier. On the label, they recommend 1 chew daily for 5-10 lbs and 2 daily for 11-25 lbs. as the initial 4-6 week start. After that, 1 every other day for the 5-10 lbs and 1 a day for 11-25 lbs. So Rosie is taking 2 a day for the start. They smell very fishy and the fish oil is preserved with green tea extract and rosemary, as well as other ingredients, I like that. At first, Rosie spit it out, took it back, spit it out and then chewed it. The second one she took immediately. Now she loves them. Her comfort and well being is very important to me and because of that, I only give her the Cosequin Supplement for her joint health.

He is getting up there in age, 13 years old, and we decided to give these a try to help him maintain some good joints. When we got these in the mail we opened them up and was surprised to find that they are the same shape and size as the adult person chews we have. The only difference is these are brown and not multi-color like the ones we take. We decided to see what they smelt like and were disappointed to find that they didn’t have much of any smell to them. We were hoping that they would smell like bacon or something to get the dog excited. We took out two of them and had the dog hold them on his nose for a few seconds for his picture and then told him to get them. The dog sniffed them and put them in his mouth and then dropped them out. Sniffed them again and was not sure what to do with them. He picked them up again in his mouth and took them to his bed. He dropped them and continued to sniff them. I had to tell him to eat and then he picked them up and tried to eat them. Dropped them and then picked them up again and chewed them up. It seemed like he was just not sure if they were food or not. The next day we gave him a couple more and this time he knew what to do with them. He seems to enjoy them and we will see how they help him with his joints.

He had to have surgery with a metal plate placed in that leg. The vet told me after the surgery to keep him on a joint health supplement to keep him from having arthritis or problems later on. I saw these and decided to give them a try. He is a bit picky with snacks so I wasn't so sure he would like these. He loved them! I give him 1 a day. The mini ones for small dogs have a fish oil in them and I think that's why my dog loved them so much. They are just the right size. The texture is squishy but they stay together without crumbling. The ingredients are very healthy and from a reputable company. It takes months and months to see the health benefits of these type products so health wise I can't speak to how they will work. As far as taste and quality, my doggy approves :)

So with preventative measures in mind I got the Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength with MSM Plus Omega-3's Mini Joint Health Supplement for Small Dogs, 45 Soft Chews to try and keep her joints in good shape. The supplements are toted to keep her joints in good condition as she grows older. We have stairs in our house so the likelihood that she will develop joint issues over time is probably more, than if we did not have stairs. My dog is a small Maltese Shih Tzu mix and I don’t think they are prone to have issues with their joints, but as they say, a little prevention goes a long way. This relatively small expense versus the cost of veterinary medical doctors is worth the cost. No doubt. The supplement tablets are small and she seems to like them and that’s good because she is really stubborn and picky about what she eats. I don’t expect to see any results but I am hoping over the long term she will not have any issues with her joints and will be healthy and happy for years to come.

The older one of course needs the joint health shown here. One problem I have is these chews are not at all liked by my pets. They give the chews the initial sniff and choose not to lick or chew them.If they would be more tasty to them,I am sure they would be good for the dogs. But they won't eat them.
