I received Philips Sonicare Protective Clean 6100 Sonic electric toothbrush two months ago as a gift and I love it. I have traveled with it several times now. I love the travel case and the battery life is great. I used it for a week without having to charge it. At first when I started using it, it seemed very intense even on the lowest setting, but now I have become a custom to the vibration. My teeth are smother and seem to be whiter. I have tried the whiting button and the gum button once each but stay with the general setting to brush my teeth. As I was told, don't turn it on unless it is in your mouth, it can splatter. It is a little messier than a traditional tooth brush, but worth the time and effort to use the Philips Sonicare Protective Clean 6100 Sonic electric toothbrush. I like this model. It keeps my teeth clean and I feel it works really well. However, I bought the same model last year from a "competitor site". It lasted almost exactly one year before it just quit. Once I had this replacement from Walmart, I experimented with the original charger. This new toothbrush worked with the old charger just fine. Obviously, the lithium battery in the previous toothbrush had just died out, after only one year. So, all I can say in honesty is to be aware of the built-in lithium battery life. How can a customer know how long the item has been sitting, prior to purchase? How long will the built-in battery life last? If you research changing the battery, quite frankly, it is a complicated process and not worth the effort!

My dentist recommended this model plus there are thousands of positive reviews. It's easy to operate, the battery lasts a long time between charges, is waterproof and can be washed off after each use. It does a noticeably good job. Better than brushing by manually. After my dentist visit the other day, they noticed much less tarter and I said I bought the Sonicare brush. It's doing a great job and I highly recommend it!

This new sonicare model is much better than the older one I had. My teeth feel dentist-clean after every brushing. The 2 minute timer in it is very helpful, too, so all of my teeth get brushed the same length of time. My only complaint is that I found the instructions to be confusing as to the 3 different settings and which brush head to use. It sounds like each setting must use a different kind of brush head, but I need to call customer service and ask someone about this.

I purchased the option that included the whitening head. After just few weeks my teeth were noticeably whiter. I have since purchased a head to improve gum health. This model immediately choose the correct mode of operation. Great product!

Definitely prefer this over my Oral B. There's more power to it with options to clean, whiten, or gum emphasis. I'd recommend this (and have done so). Good buy.

I had a Sonicare many years ago but didn't like it because it was heavy and the bristles hurt my teeth. This toothbrush however is very light and has three settings to control how powerful the bristles are. The charge lasts a long time and I love the light pink color. Love this brush!

I love the way it leaves my teeth shiny smooth I love that it has timers enabling me to change sides and spend the right amount of time needed for healthy teeth and gums. I have sensitive gums taking care of my gums is very very important. The toothbrush acts like my personal coach. Thank you

this 6100 toothbrush definitely provides superior cleaning to my previous sonicare but needs to be charged more frequently-- annoyingly so in my opinion. before purchasing believe i read a product description that promised a 3 week charge with regular use, i am finding that i need to charge every week!?

This is the second Sonicare toothbrush for me. Love the feeling of a clean mouth! No complaints about effectiveness. The handle has been redesigned and is smooth around the entire circumference making it somewhat difficult to hold and control. A different texture on the back of the handle would make it nearly perfect. The rfid chip to track use is interesting but makes for expensive replacement brush heads.
