I am using this rice for almost two years and I will continue to. It has a sharp fragrance which I don't hate but want to make a little less. So I buy a Mexican long grain rice and mix it 50:50 with that. That way the smell and the texture both become great.

This is aged basmati rice. Best way is to soak it before if you are using 20 min-rice cooker 30 min-stove top in wide pan 12 min-pressure cooker on stove top Follow rice to the ratio of water. Basmati rice need soaking like all other healthy Grains and lentils. Soaking takes out starch. This is basically for pilafs. These are not sticky rice. If you want to make Asian style then no need to soak. Add little extra the amount of water in rice cooker. Always check the guidelines.

Ive purchased this on a few occasions and am very satisfied with this rice. My wife grew up in India and I sort of did too so our expectations of basmati is a bit higher than most. These skinny long grains go perfect with chicken curry, biryani, beef and broccoli, even teriyaki if you dont have the traditional rice. Its a staple in our house and the value is as good as buying in Patel Brothers or any Indian grocery store. Bought two and got free shipping for that much weight in transit is usually very expensive. This is a no brainer for us. Come to think, might buy two more now to stock for winter in case COVID gets worse and there may be shortages.

I grew up in India as a kid and was used to eating rice almost every day. This rice is most like the rice my mother made for every occasion. I've had the rice at Chinese restaurants and South Indian restaurants. This is absolutely the best and tastes and has the aroma that I remember from ages ago.

I like basmati rice and have been eating it for years. This one is of good quality at a great Price in a big 20 lbs bag. I purchased 2 20lbs Royal. I like the fact that Im able to tell when the rice is done, by the smell it produces when cooked. I use a regular pot and not the steam pots with timer and bells sounding when rice is done. My rice smell speaks to me when its done.

I ordered this rice because I read about rice containing arsenic which is in the soil that it is grown in. I read that rice grown in India has lower arsenic which was why I bought it. This is a long grain white rice that has a great taste. I bought a rice cooker to cook it in. The 25 pound bag comes in a zippered burlap bag with a plastic bag with the rice inside. It is quite large and I am sure will last us for more than a year. I am very pleased with it and will order it again.

The rice is infested. I was wondering why after I cooked the rice i saw maggot looking rice. I did research and in fact the rice is infested and the egg larvae is in the rice all throughout. I’m throwing it away and totally disgusted. There are methods to kill the egg larvae by freezing the entire bag for 4 days but I’ll pass I can no longer eat rice. I can not submit photos because this review was made after I tossed the entire 20lb bag in my dumpster.

High quality product. It always tastes and cooks well. Hints (if your dietary needs allow): 1) add a pinch or two of salt before cooking, 2) use slightly less than 2X the amount of water to cook to get fluffy but not sticky rice, and 3) add a quarter to half a teaspoon of cooking oil to the rice and swirl to coat all the grains before cooking to make the rice less sticky and makes cleaning easier.
