[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this rice. Cooks up perfectly. Grains separate nicely and gives an aromatic taste and smell to all dishes without being overpowering. I use this rice in Asian, Indian and American dishes. It is very versatile. Highly recommend.

This has been a staple in our home for years but this last order missed the mark in a big way. When cooked, the texture was more like broken rice and it did not cook evenly. Some grains came out undercooked while others overcooked. It was uncharacteristically starchy which makes me think what was packaged as basmati was either not basmati at all or an extremely old batch. I'm not sure I will ever buy from Sam's, or this brand again, and would probably spend the extra money to buy something from our local Asian grocery store that is guaranteed to meet our very simple expectation of what basmati rice ought to be.

It has that authentic, rich fragrance that fills the kitchen while cooking. The flavor is clean, slightly nutty, and pairs perfectly with curries, biryani, or even simple dal. The texture after cooking was outstanding — light, fluffy, and each grain stayed separate without becoming sticky. It cooked evenly on the stove top and was very easy to prepare with clear instructions. I didn’t have any issues with overcooking or mushiness. It made the meal feel special and satisfying. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time trying Authentic Basmati Stove Top Rice. I had a good experience! It was very easy to prepare this rice. There are easy to follow directions on the package that make cooking a breeze. And the clean up afterwards was easy. The rice itself was good. It had a nice consistency, was soft but not too soft, and cooked well. It's taste was good, nothing too crazy, just a solid base rice for meals. Overall I thought it was great as a part of a wider meal. I think it's too plain to stand on its own but that's ok with me!

You gotta do what you gotta do as a hedge against inflation! Rice prices have gone through the roof in the last year or so and 20 pounds of rice will last me a loooooooong time! But at this price, after rebagging it in FoodSaver vacuumed bags, it won't go stale and I will have top quality rice whenever I want it. Even with the cost of repackaging, it's a real bargain at this price. That, plus the burlap bag with a red plastic zipper across the top makes a great book bag! What could be better than that?
