Although the lighter box is a huge plus for older folks who may not be as strong, the draw-back for me was that my cat was always kicking it out of the box all over the floor as she was covering her waste. Perhaps it would work well with a covered litter box (?)

I have tried several cat litters, including several from TidyCat. The low dust does a very good job, and I would give 5 stars, however, because I cannot carry the 16 lb jug, I have to pay so much more for the 8.5 b jug. Doesn't seem fair. I have several cats, so it's pretty expensive.......

I like that the litter is very lightweight. This is all I like about it. We have multiple cats and this litter did not seem to absorb like a regular cat litter would. It caused a lot of mess when my cat would walk out of the litter box. The litter would stick to her paws and be strewn about the house. The item was a nice concept and idea, maybe just for a home with a single cat or two. Doesn't work well with a multi cat household.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been a long time user of the multi cat clumping and i wanted to try lightweight to take some of the weight off carrying the boxes in and out. Bought this product and noticed the urine was staying wet and the litter was not clumping. Would love to see a better light weight with better clumping.

I have tried many brands of cat litter. This light weight and almost, dust free litter is in my mind, without doubt the best . It is clean smelling and very easy to take out soiled litter in clumps. Thankyou Purina for making it so much easier and cleaner to have indoor cats !

Pros: It isn’t dusty. The scent control is really good, and the scent isn’t overpowering like other litters. It clumps great and is extremely easy to scoop out of the box. The weight is the main reason I keep purchasing it, I can buy more than a months supply without struggling to carry it to my car and up the stairs to my apartment. My cat doesn’t hate it and had no trouble taking to it and there’s no issues like getting clumped to his hind area or feet. The con: this stuff tracks and it’s so small it gets pretty much everywhere. Luckily it’s easy to clean but my cat tracks this littler every time he uses the box. The pros outweigh the cons so I keep purchasing it.

this litter is lightweight, but does an excellent job of clumping the wet stuff. Its also low on dust. it has a pleasant smell, but not real strong. most of all, my cats love it!. I personally think it's too expensive. would like to see it a few bucks cheaper...

I have nothing good to say about this cat litter...oh well, it is lightweight. I purchased this 17 lb pail in the store when the other Tidy Cats pail that I usually buy was out of stock, not once but twice (thanks Walmart). First, note that it costs about $6 more than the regular weight Tidy Cats. Second, with the cost in mind, you use it a lot more because it expands like a sponge. I have one 8 pound cat and I used this bucket in about 3 weeks after topping off the litter every 5-6 days or so. The regular weight pail of Tidy Cat litter easily lasted 6 weeks or more, so you are using twice as much with the lightweight litter. If you didn't do the math: 2 pails of lightweight Tidy Cats litter at $20.98 ($41.96 total) versus 1 pail of regular clumping Tidy Cats Litter at $14.64. That's a $27.32 savings for a 6 week period. Third, the litter is super sticky. The litter becomes very moist (think cooked oatmeal left in a pot overnight) and almost always sticks to the sides or bottom of the cat box, which takes a lot of scraping to remove. Also, stray bits of litter stick to my floor and I have to scrape it up because it won't come up with a broom or vacuum. I had to go over the floor with a mop twice with much effort to get the floor clean. I have a 3 x 5 rug under the litter box and I still get stray bits on the floor. Then, to top it off, when my cat was laying next to me on the bed, I saw large clumps of this litter stuck between the pads of his feet and claws. He must have been so uncomfortable, not to mention, yuck on my bed and furniture. Fourth, it doesn't control odor well. I could be in another room and smell cat urine even though I cleaned out the cat box a few hours before and added fresh litter. Unfortunately, I am working from home and sharing a room with the cat box for 8 hours a day. I thought sharing a room with a cat box would be unbearable, but I've switched to Fresh Step, and sitting 10 ft away I don't smell anything offensive. Fifth, when using the lightweight litter my cat stopped burying his poop. I couldn't figure out why, but I am thinking it could be because of the odors inside the litter box even after scooping and wiping down the sides and stuck on bits with a baby wipe each day, sometimes twice a day. Before I switched to this lightweight litter, he never did that. Now that I am using Fresh Step, he seems to be burying his poop again, so I can't help but think the lightweight litter had something to do with it. I cannot in good conscience recommend this litter as it has no redeeming qualities. Sorry, Tidy Cats. This is a disaster. I will try Tidy Cats again, the regular weight clumping kind, but Walmart has a problem with keeping it in stock.

This litter doesn’t work well at keeping down the odor. You have to clean the litter box 2-3 times a day at a minimum. Not worth the trade between weight and effectiveness. If you work long hours or are out for long periods, this isn’t the litter for you.

so much easier to handle than regular litter! and the scent is amazing without being too much, in my opinion. really cuts down on the litter box smell. the one drawback is that the cats track it EVERYWHERE because it is so lightweight. so i am constantly sweeping.
