Out all several cat litters I have tried, I always go back to Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight Litter. The reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it is not 99% dust-free like it says on the container. It's not as dusty as other cat litter, but there is dust that makes me cough occasionally. Besides that, I love that it is light weight! Not only is it easier for me to carry, but it is easier for me to scoop. It clumps perfectly. It's very easy and light to scoop everything in the litter box, which helps get the job done in seconds! I clean daily (like you're supposed to) so I don't have any problems with it turning to a clay-like substance.

I just looked at my box and discovered that instead of just opening the spout at the perferated lines and then pouring, I now have to open the box and open a bag and either scoop or pour. I do not see this as an improvement. I am annoyed. Therefore I will remove a star. Sometimes leaving well enough alone is a good thing.

I have been using the Light Weight Tide Cats for about a month now. I have a couple of complaints. The first one is that it very dusty when pulling or scooping it out of the box. #2, it doesn't keep away the cat smell like the regular Tidy Cat. The weight it nice, but that is all. Need to make some changes. I'm going back to the regular one.

Get ready for a blow Purina: this won’t be pretty. I’ve had cats literally my entire life. I know the litter game. I understand the finicky, picky cats who only like that one type of litter or they’ll go elsewhere. I also know the kind that don’t give a hoot. This is hands down the WORST litter I have ever come into contact with. I have a Turkish Van and he doesn’t care about the litter type, as long as his princess box is clean. Yes, I clean it just about every day or so. Normally, we just go for the cheapest stuff we find at Walmart because he’s not fussy, so hey-save some money. It’s also not clumping. Well, they ran out last time, so I decided to try this lightweight clumping stuff. On a scale of 1-10 nopes, I’d give this a solid 439 nopes. I have had to literally wash out the litter from his paws because it is stuck in there. ALMOST DAILY. at first I thought eh, he just needs to learn this new litter. Nope. It always ends up between his toes-and no, there isn’t an excessive amount of hair between his toes. Another HUGE nope: the amount of litter that flings out of the box (it has a lid with a ramp-he’s 13, old man) is so ridiculous, I vacuum literally every time he goes in there. I even have a mini vac plugged in nex to the box! The “lightweight” feature of this litter is useless as well-the one time trip I’m hauling it from the store to my home isn’t worth it. The bag/jug of litter gets lighter as you use the litter, people! It’s so lightweight, that it’s absorbancy is pathetic, causing my cats urine to pool instead of clump. He is older like I said. And with age usually comes the kidney problems. Like I said before, I’ve had cats my whole life and played the “best” litter game for 30 years now. This is the biggest loser in the history of litter. I think pebbles or soil would even be a better choice than this mess. If I could deter one person from buying this monstrosity of so-called litter, the cat world would be a better place. I will never ever buy this product again.

This litter is effective, in that it is light and clumps nicely, however I will not be purchasing it anymore. It is so granular that it sticks to the backside of my cat , whenever he does his business. This, in turn, leads to excess litter being tracked around the house, not to mention the counters, chairs, bed, etc. This didn't happen when I used other Tidy Cat litter, so I"m switching back those brands.

I used it and let me cats choose between the normal Tidy Cats and the Lightweight version. My cats REFUSED to use the Lightweight Tidy Cats. They HATE it. Like all normal, healthy cats, mine enjoy digging in their litterbox before relieving themselves. The Lightweight Tidy Cats does not feel right to them and they refuse to use it. It doesn't matter that the Lightweight Tidy Cats is lighter, the old formula is the only way for me unless I feel like cleaning my carpet daily because my cats refuse the litterbox

Can't understand the bad reviews. We have 12 cats and this stuff works wonders. Easier to scoop, no dust, doesn't track everywhere and they don't sling it out of the litter box because it's easier for them to scratch and cover. It seems more expensive but those boxes last and last. A 19 pound box lasts longer than 40 pounds of regular weight litter. I should know considering I clean 8 litter boxes every single day.

I am a Tidy Cat fan. I like that lightweight is easier to carry than the regular tidy cat but it has too much dust. I buy the lightweight if I have a coupon because it is much more expensive than the heavier litter. I am not one to pay more for something just because it weighs less and does the same job. The biggest issue with the lightweight is that it puts out a lot more dust when I am pouring it into the litter boxes.

This is the worst cat litter! It's lighter and they claim you use less, but instead of leaving one big clump like it's supposed to, it left the urine "wet" and when I went to scoop it, it crumbled into a million little pieces. I ended up using WAY more than the regular cat litter. I went through it so fast using so much more, it ended up being a complete waste of money!

I have had cats for my entire life and was intrigued by the idea that there was a new light weight litter...so I bought a container to try. It totally is NOT worth the price. The litter absorbs pretty well, but the perfume was so strong and the odor was continuous...it gave me a headache! And this litter tracks terribly. I was forever trying to clean up the tracked particles. I would NOT recommend it.
