If this litter lighter, and therefor easier to haul to and from the car? Yes. Is that convenience worth it? No. The Light Weight litter is more expense than Tidy Cat's traditional litters, and it doesn't clump as well. If you try to scoop it too early, the "clumps" are more like lumps of tacky clay that require lots of knocking and scraping, especially if you're using a sifter pan or similar set-up.

I've been using Tidy Cat products for 30+ years. This lightweight formula has a horrible fragrance that can be smelled throughout home; poor odor control; product is truly lightweight but that has resulted in the ease of the my cats to track litter all over the house. I will not purchase again.

My husband used to complain about the litterbox odor even after I cleaned. Not any more. Although not dust free it is better and I notice less litter tracking around the house. There is still a bunch right outside the box but at least there is less tracking. Although expensive, I feel like I am having to change less frequently. And I love the weight. It is worth it.

I bought it because it was easier for me to lift, and I had been using other Tidy Cat litters. It is the worst I have ever used. It leaves a fine powdery dust every where. I recently moved the pans upstairs because of health issues and now it is all over the furniture etc. I can even feel it on the computer desk. Me and my cats are coughing and sneezing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I switched to this after using a store brand litter for quite a while. I noticed after using this product my male cat stopped having accidents outside of the litter box and it overall masks the urine smell much better than other brands.

I thought this was a great idea until I tried it for my cats. I ended up with litter everywhere in the house, on furniture, beds, etc. and more importantly, one of my cats was so distressed, she urinated outside the box, something she has never done. I changed out the litter and everything went back to normal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried Purina Tidy Cats LightWeight, Low Dust, Clumping Cat Litter Odor Control 24/7 Performance Multi Cat Litter, hoping it would make litter maintenance easier. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.Despite claims of being low dust, I found this litter to be quite dusty. Each time I poured or scooped, a noticeable cloud of dust emerged, settling on nearby surfaces and making cleaning more burdensome. The lightweight nature of this litter led to significant tracking. I discovered particles far beyond the litter box area, requiring frequent sweeping and vacuuming. This was particularly frustrating, as it negated the convenience I was seeking. I noticed that unpleasant smells lingered despite regular scooping. The litter's scent itself was also quite strong and not particularly pleasant. The clumping performance was inconsistent. Some clumps formed adequately, while others disintegrated upon scooping.

I like the idea of lighter weight litter.  I foster for a rescue group and always have 4 or 5 litter boxes set-up at the same time.  Lugging 30 or 40lbs of litter at a time is a work out but paying almost twice as much for the same volume of litter is definitely cost prohibitive.

I've bought all of the differant scents/formula's at least once, and it has quickly become my prefferred to use. It's easy to lift and carry, and easy to pour. I don't have to worry about gettig nthe litter all over the place, and it smells good to!

I recently purchased two 3.86kg canisters of the new Tidy Cats Lightweight litter. We have two cats and two litters...so I bought the '24/7 Performance' for one litter and the 'Instant Action' for the other one. I just wanted to see what the cats preferred. To my amazement, both cats were sneezing like crazy and neither of them wanted to go into the litter. One of them tried and sunk right in...probably because of the lightweight. I guess it felt like quicksand for her and she was soon out of there. The other one took a snif and did her poopoo outside the litter. This litter may be human friendly because of its lightweight and scent, but it sure didn't impress my two felines. On top of it, the ingredients states: Natural ground clay and 'deodorizing system'. Now what the heck does this 'deodorizing system' consists of? I threw the stuff out and went back to my President's Choice UNSCENTED clumping natural ground clay...which the cats love. It's heavy, cheaper and my cats purr. Purina needs to keep in mind that what may be a solution for humans, may not necessarily be best for our little furry loved ones.
