I started out switching one of the litter boxes to this litter. The cats would use it at the beginning, but after a couple days, they stopped using it. I'm not 100% sure why the cats stopped using it, but I think it's because the litter is too light that when they dig, it brings up a lot powdered dust (I realized that when I was scooping). Also, the fragrance is waaaay too strong. The cats would not use the litter box even if I mixed half and half (lightweight vs regular tidy cat), so the whole tub went to the trash.. not worth trying... (they're not cheap to try!)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some of the biggest problems with litter are that it is so heavy to carry, and it really doesn't control smell. I am really please with the Tidy Cats litter overall, and the Tidy Cats Lightweight makes shopping and getting it in the house and pouring it in so much easier. Lets face it when your cat has a stink bomb...nothing really helps with that, but for urine the Tidy Cat's litter is a big help, because it works!

I switched to this because I am 72 and would rather not carry 50 lb bags of litter around. Now that I have used it for several months, I find there are several negatives: 1. It is light, so the cat throws MORE of it out of the box, and to greater distances. 2. It does not clump as well as the old litter; they break up forcing me to dip out lots of little pieces instead of one big chunk. So, the only good thing is the weight when I top off the litter box every ten days or so, and the bad things occur several times a day. NOT a good trade off -

It is good litter control and is lightweight but it is so lightweight that it gets all over everything my cat goes on my bed, the furniture, I am always vacuuming and she is long haired so it gets and sticks all over her too. I don't recommend this for someone with long hair cats. Other wise it will probably work fine.

I love that it is so light weight very easy to carry & lift! It clumps easily so its very convenient to scoop. The fact that it clumps easily makes the odor control a lot better! I switched to another new litter just to try it bc it was cool looking granules of clearish white & blue colors & it was a sad disappointment. This litter controls odor way better than the others.

I bought this litter because it said that it is 99.9% dust free and has continuous odor control. Both are a completely false. A quarter of the litter is made up of dust. I can't scoop the litter without covering my face because the dust is so bad. It has no odor control. I have to clean the litter box 2+ times a day because it smells bad. By the 5th day I had to dump the whole litter box because I couldn't stand the smell.

We have 3 big beautiful cats that are quite picky with their litter. We have literally tried almost every litter brand and type there is. Now that we have an automatic litter box we have to use premium litter. After trying 4 different brands and scents/unscented we found this. It really is light weight and works extremely well. There is some dust, but what do you expect...its litter! Recommend this to all picky cat owners!

I have bought tidy cat litter for 11 years so I thought I would give this new lightweight litter a try. I love it. Even my husband who rarely deals with the litter pan commented how much he liked this litter. We love it for the clumping and lightness and the way it eliminates odors.

If you don't need light weight litter than stick with regular litter. I purchased this litter because I needed some while at the store, I had never bought light weight litter before. This litter was ALL over my house and I mean everywhere! I change the box every morning and sweep daily also but with this litter I had to sweep and vacuum several times a day just to keep it under control. If you can't carry other litter and need light weight then it makes sense to get it as it is easy to carry around but you might need a maid also.
