I am a Tidy Cat fan. I like that lightweight is easier to carry than the regular tidy cat but it has too much dust. I buy the lightweight if I have a coupon because it is much more expensive than the heavier litter. I am not one to pay more for something just because it weighs less and does the same job. The biggest issue with the lightweight is that it puts out a lot more dust when I am pouring it into the litter boxes.

I am very loyal to my usual brand but liked the thought of not having to lug a heavy box home and up the stairs. I will give this product one star for an ergonomically designed container. It was very comfortable to carry. I was disappointed with the odor control--it was heavily scented and didn't seem to cover the scent, just mix a scent with normal litter box smells (not great on the nose). I was also disappointed with the clumping quality. clumps came apart easily and actually caused me to go through this litter quickly as I was scooping "unused litter" along with broken apart clumps. The worst problem for me, though, was the tracking. This. Litter. Got. EVERYWHERE. I live in a loft and have concrete floors, though I've never experienced anything like this even with lightweight natural litters. I even have a little rug outside the cats litter box to minimize how much litter gets everywhere but when I used this product it was strewn all over my house! I vacuum regularly (hard floors) but would have to vacuum multiple times each day to maintain this. I ended up throwing the rest out after about a week, when I was able to get my usual brand! Great idea and nice try, but it just doesn't work. I would more than not purchase this again - I have actually discouraged others from buying it!

My 2 cats have been using this for 1 day the litter tracks everywhere. Even after walking 30 feet to my bedroom granules of litter were still dropping from my cat's paws when he jumped on the bed. My cats are short hairs and do not kick litter out of the oversized litter box. I have swept up the litter twice, I would rather lift something a bit heavier than spend so much time with a broom in my hand.

I was so hopeful about this litter because of the "lugging around" issue of regular Tidy Cats. But I bagged it up and threw it away after two weeks. It scatters really bad, and the cats tracked it throughout the house. I also thought it seemed dustier than the regular Tidy Cats, and I don't think the cats liked it as much...I guess they felt like they "sank down" in it too much. So I'm back to Tidy Cats Clumping regular weight, and I really, really hope they don't discontinue it due to this newer litter.

I picked this up last week, and couldn't believe how light it was. It made my shopping trip so much easier -- from lifting it, to pushing the cart, to loading it in the car, to getting it home and dumping it in the litter box. It just makes those litter box chores soooo much easier.

We were helping a feral cat and needed some litter. My husband struggled to find one without fragrance, but was unsuccessful. It has been a long time since I have purchased cat litter, but the fragrance in this litter is WAY too strong and can't be healthy for a cat or humans. Nasty stuff.

Tidy Cat is a great product, and its all I use, thats not the question here. Do the math yourself. Do not always rely on their comparison per pound prices. They are notoriously wrong and what you think may be a bargain is not always the truth! Sometimes the weight changes and they still go by the higher weight, and its less now. This makes a big difference on how much it costs by the ounce or pound!

This litter is so light that it sticks to my cats feet and he leaves it all over the house. I don't think it works as well as the regular Tidy Cats that I had been using. The worst part about Lightweight is the dust. When I clean the litterbox, the amount of dust generated is much greater than with regular Tidy Cats, and I don't think it works as well either. I will not buy this product again!!!

I have been using Tidy Cats products for several years. I saw this product in the store on my last visit and thought it would be an excellent buy, especially since I live in a second floor apartment. WRONG. This product is extremely dusty. I can barely scoop the litter box without choking on the dust. I will not be using this product again. It's back to the heavy litter for me.

I was so hopeful about this new litter, it really is so much lighter.  I emptied and washed the litter box and refilled it with the new lightweight litter.  The first thing I noticed was that it is very dusty, had a different texture to it and is very "perfume-y".  My cat would not even get into the litter box!  I kept thinking that when he had to go badly enough he would use it, but no such luck.  After 2 days I went back to the store and purchased the regular Tidycat I had been using.  He used the litter box right away.  I guess it was the heavy perfume smell that kept him away.  If they make an unscented version of the lightweight litter I might try it again, although I do have concerns that the "feel" of it is different and might pose another problem.  Please don't stop making the regular Tidycat in favor of this stuff!
