Don't be nervous about this product, I have heard people say they are worried it is going to hurt, it's not that bad and the results are worth it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Venus Silk-Expert every week for the past 6 weeks. I was a little nervous to start because I have done professional hair removal before and it was absolutely NOT painless. This was a breeze. Slight pinch but only in areas where I didn't shave as carefully. I started on the lowest setting and worked my way up as I got comfortable. I was up to the highest setting within the first three weeks. The light is extremely bright, so some eye protection would be a good idea. I wish something had come in the box - just a thought. I really liked the indicator on the side that told me if I had good contact or was in an area that was not suitable. The unit is easy to hold and not too heavy. Getting into the areas I want to treat is pretty easy. Each session only takes about 20 minutes and I am working multiple body areas. As I have not used it the full 12 weeks, I can say that the hair is definitely slowing down but not gone yet. The regrowth is less dense and I have high hopes for the remainder of my treatment. I am giving 4 stars as I have not seen anything dramatic...yet.

I am sold by how efficiently this device works. Having tried it underarms and on legs this works, have had no redness and very minimal hair growth in the past weeks. Have been using weekly since a month and I can claim that my hair has shrunk in size. My skin is not bumpy and has not shown any other ill effects which makes me happy. Infact my husband mentioned the other day that you look ready for summer with your waxed legs and I told him I did not wax and showed him how the IPL worked. As soon as he saw how easy it was he wanted to try it on his hairy chest btw it is not an easy job to convince him to try something especially that relates to his body and hair. So good job IPL in making me hair free and hopefully you will work your magic on the hubby bear (cause he is hairy like one and sheds like one too)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading through the instructions and doing a test area to make sure there was no adverse reaction, I used my Gillette Venus Silk Expert on my legs. It's so cool to "shave" my legs in bed! I placed my IPL device on my leg near the ankle and waited for the white lights to appear letting me know it's ready to go then, I pressed the button. A bright, red light flashed and I felt the pulse of heat just slightly. I chose to lift the device up and place it back down on each section of skin but you can glide the device over your leg for a more continuous motion. It's going to take some getting used to but overall, I'm pleased with how easy it is to use! I was also worried that it would be uncomfortable but I'm happy to reports that it's not bad at all!! When it was all saiid and done, I spent 20 minutes to complete both legs.

I have come to the conclusion that my skin is reacting to the treatment after about 5 weeks in. The first time it happened I thought maybe they were bug bites. It wasn't immediately after the treatment. They popped up within a day or two. Second time it happened I thought I was having maybe an allergicle reaction to something. Started narrowing down things and narrowed it down to possibly the treatment. So the third week after this was happening, I decided to test a small strip on my leg to confirm whether or not it was the treatment. Unfortunately it was. I had the same reaction very itchy bumps. Then I started thinking why now? The first 4 weeks this did not happen. Could it be the razor? I had noticed the last two or three times that I shaved, the razor felt a little dull. So I'm thinking maybe it wasn't getting the hair short enough before treatment??? I'm not ready to give up on this thing just yet because it does work. I noticed a pretty significant change in the hair growth on my legs. Some were gone, some were softer, it took longer to grow back, etc. I had all the right signs. But I knew I had to write this review before it expired... So I'm going to continue using to see if maybe it had to do with a dull razor. But those out there considering purchasing this... Don't let this review deter you. It could be just my skin personally, I don't know. But like I said earlier I'm not ready to give up on this thing yet. I do want to thank Braun for allowing me to try this product absolutely free. And I also want to thank BzzAgent for making that happen!

I was really excited to try this, my only qualm is that I can't use it very often and I have to be patient to see results. Thats okay though, I look forward to using it again. Directions were easy and the product itself was easy to use and I didn't feel any burning or pain, or get any irritation after using the product. This is great because I have pretty sensitive skin so it is exciting to be able to use this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here are my first impressions of the Gillette Venus Silk-expert: *Very easy to set up. *While larger and heavier than I expected, it was still easy to use. *The safety warnings in the booklet were overwhelming. *Per the booklet, I tested a small test patch on my leg. I was nervous about mild discomfort, so I used gentle mode and did not experience any discomfort. *Now that it's been 24 hours since doing the test patch and there has been no reaction, I will be trying to use the Gillette Venus Silk-expert on the rest of my legs. I'm a bit nervous about making sure I treat all areas without treating an area twice. I'm looking forward to using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert for the next few months to see if I notice a reduction in visible hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really didn't have high expectations of the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun®. Luckily, I do have the best combo of skin tone & hair color for the tool (fair skin with dark hair). First, you shave your legs as you normally would, then use the tool. It emits a light pulse that affects the hair growth - slowing or possibly even stopping it. Since I have been using the tool, I have gone from needing to shave every other day to 3-4 days between shaves. And that is without using it every week as directed - I am sure I would have even better results if I had been able to use it weekly! It is a little time-consuming to use it, as the light window is small compared to one's legs! My daughter would like to use it too, but she has blonde hair, so it may not work for her as well as it does for me. We may try it though! I received this product for free from Braun in return for my honest opinion.

My initial impression was that this was going to be a difficult item to use... it was intimidating. But... i was proven wrong. With only a few parts - the main unit and some cords - it was super simple. The instructions were clear and is was just as easy to use as set up. Put on your skin and press a button. I did have discomfort on the highest setting, felt like i was being "zapped" but once i changed the setting as directed in the instructions - it was fine. This was my first experience with this type of product and it was all positive. I hope the results are as good as i expect.

I've used it a few times and it has been simple and actually faster than I thought it would take. I can see my hair growth growing sparse in some areas, so to ME, that means IT WORK!!!! I can't wait to see the end results and ditch my razor forever!
