I think I made a bigger production of using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert than was necessary. I didnt shave for an entire week and announced to my husband that I was not to be disturbed while using for the first time. I showered shaved and then broke out the Gillette Venus silk-expert. It's actually very easy to use and extremely intuitive. I really like how the lights on the side light up blue or red while using to guide you and let you know if you are getting the right amount of contact. The gliding method over the larger, smoother areas worked well. The direct contact on singular areas was easy as well although there is a bit of a snap to it, I like the glide method better but I appreciate being able to cover a lot of different areas. The idea of not having to shave is extremely appealing and I'm looking forward to using this again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of the box, the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert Powered by Braun had a great feel. It is solid and packaged nicely. I was wanting instructions that were a little more clear (or easy to find in the box). But once I got the hang of it - it made sense. I worry a little about the brightness of the flashes of light -- should I be wearing sunglasses? Yikes! Even if you aren't looking straight at it, it's very bright. The little "zaps" from the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert Powered by Braun aren't too uncomfortable. But it is noticeable in the more sensitive areas (bikini line and underarms). It's easy to reach any areas that you're trying to "treat." I received this product for free from Braun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have not had a lot of change in my hair growth but that could be due to the corse hair that I have. There are requirements for this product. I think it would work well for someone that has hair that isn't corse and light skin. My hair is thinning a bit though so I will be continuing to use this product to see if I have more of a result. By the way, you do have to have a clean shave on the area BEFORE you use this product. I received this product free from Braun to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this free from Braun to test and give my unbiased opinion. I have been using this weekly for about 8 weeks and have to say I am impressed. It's easy to use, just slowly glide it over your body. For more difficult areas like your knees, you can use precision mode. I do notice a small feeling of heat when it pulses, and in some areas the feeling of being lightly flicked, like by a rubber band. Otherwise it doesn't really hurt and isn't very uncomfortable. It doesn't take long either! I have been using it on my legs and have noticed a dramatic decrease in hair, which is awesome! I have pale skin and dark hair which is very noticeable, even a few hours after shaving. Now I don't get that odd 5 o'clock shadow on my legs and they stay smoother much longer. My hair and skin color are pretty much the ideal combination for something like this, and I definitely recommend it to anyone whose coloring is similar!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In my first review I forgot to mention that I have dark hair and fair skin, which is why it's working so well for me. After six weeks I have about half the hair growth, as claimed. I even forget to shave now, which is unheard of for me! I used to shave every day/every other day - now I need to every four days! I realized that soon I'm not even going to need to buy a razor, or if I do, it'll last me much longer. How crazy is that? This Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert by Braun is a game changer! It does take a little while to do my legs (I do both calf and upper thigh - put a pin in that) but I just do it as I watch TV which helps (and keeps my eyes from looking directly at the flash!) Also, I used to get ingrown hairs on my upper thigh and never shaved there, but I figured I would shave it to try the IPL on them, and I have hardly any ingrown hairs! I think over the full course they will all be gone as there will be no hair to grow. I suffer from KP (keratosis pilaris) on my upper arms and am going to try it on my arms next (my only hesitation is it's the summer and I live in Florida so I'll be exposed to the sun a lot, maybe in the winter) but I'm really loving this so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes when this arrived. After reading the instructions, I gathered that with certain skin colors, this device will not work. For the record, I am a very light skinned African American person. I quickly aligned my skin tone with that of the pamphlet as it stated it would work and went for it! Lo and behold, I was disappointed. The only place I could use it was on my stomach...no legs, no bikini line. The device simply will not work if it thinks that your skin is too dark. Overall, I would love a product that would work...but this just wasn't it. I received this free from Braun in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, if I hadn't received it free, I would be a bit disappointed.

So I tried it on underarms ,and very easy to use,no pain ,lightweight really like it Haven't done enough to see any significant results yet but am anxious to keep trying and see the outcome ! Going to try on legs soon to,I have 2 small kids and usually don't have time for this sort of thing but it's fast and easy to use,takes no time at all,looking forward to great results

I have used this specifically for my legs but will be using it for other areas after my leg treatments are finished. This product is so easy to use and you can't mess up. I have noticed less and less hair growth over the last few weeks and have found that instead of shaving my legs every 2 days, I have now begun to only shave my legs once a week, the day I use this machine. And when I do shave on the one day a week, I am not even sure I need to do it then, but you are supposed to shave before using so I just do. It is going to be a great summer with low maintenance hair-free legs. Next up....armpits!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the longest time I wanted to have a permanent hair removal treatment done, but I never got around to it. So when I was given a chance, by Braun, to try the product for free, I couldn't have been more excited!!! I think I checked the mailbox a million times waiting for it to arrive. The box finally arrived, and I dove right in. I began by reading thru the instructions. I found them easy to understand, but I felt a little intimidated by the Silk-expert (probably because I read it could be a little painful). To begin, it is suggested that you do a 24-hour spot test to be sure there is no negative reaction. That was the longest 24 hours ever!!! I was so excited to get started. I'm three weeks into treatment now, and have found the Silk-expert very simple to use. Most areas are easy to reach, but you might have to change direction around the ankles and others places where the area is too narrow to activate the Silk-expert (it does not work unless it is fully pressed against the skin). So far, I only have two little downsides...First, the light is very bright. The instructions say you don't need eye protection, but that you may want to look away from the light (however, it's hard to look away and watch what you're doing.) Second, I was surprised by the sting of the full strength light. I switched over to gentle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will admit I've become extremely lazy when it comes to shaving my legs so I was pretty excited to try the Venus Gillette Silk Expert IPL which was sent to me free by Braun. The instructions were very easy to follow . The only prepping you need to do is to shave prior to using the IPL system. The device has two modes. One which is for gliding , such as on your legs . The other mode is for spot treatment which I used on my knees. The device warms up a little and when using it feels like a tiny zap. By no means uncomfortable . It also let out a burned scent however that decipitated quickly. The instructions indicate that you'll see results in as little as eight weeks . Once again , thanks to Braun for this free device . I'm very excited to getting back to you all with my eight week results .
