I don't want a stranger up, close and personal in my business and touching my body. No, thank you! I especially don't want them to to be in any of my personal areas....I am just that type of person I guess. So this device for me is fabulous! It allows me to take care of hair removal on my own and not feel like I need to "bare all" to someone I have never met before. I will say though that I do feel like the size and shape could be improved. I have awkward areas that I would like to remove hair from. Toes, ankles, chin...you can't do that with a device like this as the great safety features protect you from it not going off on smaller areas. But hey- who/what doesn't have room for improvement? I first read all the directions that came with this product, and decided to give it a try. I started with the 24-hour sensitivity test like the product called for. I plugged the product in and did as it stated, ran it over my skin. I didn't fell a thing. There is no pain, no pulling of hair, nothing. I checked that area 24 hours later and I was perfectly fine. I shaved my legs with the razor they sent me and then proceeded to try my entire legs. What a breeze. This took approximately five minutes to do. I am just waiting to see how it grows in. I will keep you updated.

I've been looking for something like this for a long time now and am glad it's found me through a free sample from Braun! Though it's still too soon to see results, initially I am very impressed with this product. You can easily sit on your couch, in a chair, or any where that you are comfortable to use this amazing tool! I used it for the first time the day after I shaved. I ran it down my lower leg and it didn't hurt to use. You might get a bit uncomfortable on sensitive skin. I used this tool on both of my lower legs, bikini area, and underarms. The most uncomfortable would have been my bikini area. I would want to know what to expect from someone that has already used it prior to purchasing. I believe that this is an amazing product and I have already recommended it to all my friends and family.

I love having the convenience of an IPL device for at-home use and to bring along during time away. It's exciting to have the means to achieve long-term to permanent hair removal at your convenience and comfort. I've had laser and IPL hair removal sessions at the spa and I know how time-consuming and costly these can be. This device is great as a means to touch up in between sessions at the spa or medical office or on its own. Depending on how many areas of your body you are seeking to treat, the cost of the device runs about half the cost of a package of 5 sessions for one verrry small area while this device can treat your entire body until you reach the results you desire. It takes patient and consistency to yield long-term to permanent results, but it's easy to hold and use, and in the convenience of your home you can use it while watching TV or during commerical breaks so it seems like a win-win. It's a great item to consider as a gift to yourself or to place on your wish list and add to your at-home beauty ritual. I can already see results in the few short weeks I've been using it and look forward to achieving even better results over time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have received the Gillette Venus Silk-expert from Braun for free. This product works. I absolutely love home IPL technology. It is much more cost efficient than laser hair treatment at the spa. I can touch up needed spots at any time. It's so convenient to have it with me at home. I no longer have to shave every few days. I have used it on my underarms, bikini line, legs and face. My hair has reduced dramatically. I just wish I had this years ago. To be clear, I have light/medium skin tone and black hair. So I happen to be the perfect candidate for IPL. It is a little big and bulky to use, and the window of light is somewhat small. I wish it had a better marker of which sections I've completed. It takes some patience to cover large areas, like your legs. I don't use the continuous glide feature because I want more control of where I'm flashing the light. But it's still worth it. I'm not 100% hair free, more like 90%. So I'd recommend the Gillette Venus Silk-expert as long as you expect having to do some touch-ups.

I have to admit when I started using it I was apprehensive about it working, much to my surprise though I no longer have to shave! At first it feels a bit uncomfortable but that passes quickly as I got used to the sensation. I have used it once a week for twelve weeks on my underarms. After just a few weeks of use I was already only shaving once a week instead of every other day. Since I was going on vacation and the directions are clear about not sunbathing for seven days after use I waiting on using it on my legs. I have used it for five weeks so far on my legs and I definitely see a difference. I am currently shaving my legs once a week instead of every other day so I know it is working. I am sold by how efficiently this device works. Having tried it underarms and on legs this works, have had no redness and very minimal hair growth in the past weeks. Have been using weekly since a month and I can claim that my hair has shrunk in size. My skin is not bumpy and has not shown any other ill effects which makes me happy. It is amazing, and I highly recommend it! The first time I used it, it stung a little bit - sort of like a rubber band snapping, but nothing unbearable. However, with each subsequent time that I use it, it is virtually painless. From the beginning, this was an incredible easy and foolproof machine to use. You simply shave first and then glide it along the (dry) area you want to remove hair. You can either press the "zapper" button as you would like or you can hold it down and move the machine to a new area and it will automatically do it. The Venus Silk-expert came with easy-to-read instructions, and after doing it once, you don't even need to refer to them again - it really is THAT easy! It's quick, painfree, and best of all - you can do it in the comfort of your own home!

Every time that I use it, it is easier and faster than the last. Very simple to use machine and no real pain at all. You do smell some "burnt hair" smell but it's worth it! I have already noticed a HUGE decrease in the amount of hair on the test spots. Nice and smooth without the trouble of razors! The device itself is very chic and fits perfectly into my hand without being heavy or awkward. Will definitely recommend this to family and friends.
