[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say that I'm impressed with how well the Silk-expert have worked for me! I can see a very noticeable difference between the leg I've been using it on and the one that I haven't. While I'm not hair free on the right leg, there is significantly less hair than the left and I can only imagine it will continue to lessen as I use the device! The Silk-expert has been painless and pretty quick to use once I got the hang of it! There are a couple of things that I wish were included with the Silk-expert- -Sunglasses! Even though the light is supposed to be safe, I wore sunglasses when I used this because the light is SO bright! Even when I looked away it seemed too bright out of the corner of my eye. -Storage and protection. I really wish this came with a protective cap for the active end of the unit. I was concerned about damaging it so I kept it in the box it came in which is HUGE and made storing it difficult. A protective cap and a cute storage bag would be great! I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a simple to use product to reduce hair growth. This is a lot larger than it looks in the advertisements, however I did not think it was heavy. After reading the instructions I was a little afraid to use it, as all the warnings scared me. When j first tried it I put it on gentle, I could not feel a thing! Going on to the second leg it felt warmer against my skin but that was all. I am used to having to shave every other day no matter what, it has now been 4 days and there is very little new growth as of now. I believe this is a product every woman should own, I had no itching or redness after using the product, when I get my eyebrows waxed I never swell or get red either so I can't say for sure if it is my skin or if the product would be irritating. The picture shows my leg 5 minutes after treatment.

My legs and underarms are hair free! This is easy and best of all it works! The light takes some getting used to but other than that no pain and now I have very little to no hair at all on my legs!

It was very easy to use and didn't take a lot of time for me to do my legs. I have noticed the hair on my legs getting sparse as each week passes so I am thrilled!!! I am loving the fact that I can have shave free legs at home without salon prices or pain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Braun sent me the Gillette Venus Silk-expert hair removal device, and I was skeptical at first. I've tried professional laser treatments as well as many at home hair removal treatments, and all of them are either painful, impossible to actually do, or they don't work. I watched a short video on how to use the Gillette Venus Silk-expert device and read the instructions. Seemed easy enough so I gave it a whirl! I was really pleased, as it did not hurt one bit and was a breeze to use! The machine fits nicely into my hand and is foolproof, as it reads your skin tone and adjusts to match. It then emits the hair-removing laser, which feels like a tiny snap but nothing painful. I am in the early stages of trying this out, as you need to use it once per week for 12 weeks to see results, but my first response is two thumbs up based on the ease of use!

I don't want a stranger up, close and personal in my business and touching my body. No, thank you! I especially don't want them to to be in any of my personal areas....I am just that type of person I guess. So this device for me is fabulous! It allows me to take care of hair removal on my own and not feel like I need to "bare all" to someone I have never met before. I will say though that I do feel like the size and shape could be improved. I have awkward areas that I would like to remove hair from. Toes, ankles, chin...you can't do that with a device like this as the great safety features protect you from it not going off on smaller areas. But hey- who/what doesn't have room for improvement? There is plenty of areas to remove that make me happy! Thank you Braun for sending me this item FREE to review!

I have always been curious about products like this but the price always deterred me from buying it! I am not seeing much results so far but it is a long process to get the results I am looking for. The process is very easy to do and pretty much painless! I can not wait to see the progression and how well this works! It would definitely be nice to not have to shave so frequently!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initial thoughts: I used this on my armpits and bikini line as I'm not supposed to expose treated skin to sunlight (and its summer)! Just plug it in and snap. However, I wish the "gentle" button was a switch. Hit it once and gentle mode is on until it's hit again. I thought I had to hold it down while snapping. It's warm when it flashes and I'm itchy afterwards for just a few minutes. It's hard to not look at the flash to protect ur eyes. Maybe uv glasses would be a nice add into the package. I like the feature of automatically adjusting to skin type. It's difficult to know if the area was treated or not so that there isn't overlap as instructed. If I can't look at the flash, and there's no indication that there was treatment, I'm not sure how to avoid overlap. I got the unit for free from Braun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used silk-expert for the first time and it worked just like going to a professional for laser hair removal. I had profession laser hair removal done in the past and it was expensive. This product is a fraction of the cost. I am looking forward to seeing a reduced amount of hair. When using it, there is a flash of light and a slight tinge of pain, but it wasn't bad at all especially if you have had done wax or eppilator hair removal. That can be very painful. The silk-expert may more painful to some, but well worth it for a reduction of hair growth.

The Silk-expert was really easy to use. I read the instruction manual, plugged it in, and did a test patch on my leg. On my first try, I guess I left it in place a little long (2 pulses) and it was REALLY hot. I turned it down to the lowest setting, and continued without burning myself. Immediately after, I had no side effects. 24 hours later, there are no red marks, and it doesn't itch. Still no side effects. I had a little trouble getting the skin tone sensors to read my skin tone at the shin, and I had to turn it sideways on that area, so it was a little different from shaving my legs. I plan to use the device on my legs and underarms, if I can get the skin tone sensors to work in my pits. I guess I'll see how it's all going in several weeks. I like that it came with a razor, as my current razor is about ready to be replaced.
