[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive the Gillette Venus Silk Expert for FREE for my honest review from Braun. I have been wanting to get laser hair removal for some time but dont have the time nor the funds to get it done. So this awesome product will be tackling my arm pits and hopefully removing it forever or at least giving me some space between shaving. I have dark armpit hair and very fair skin so even when I shave it looks like there is hair there. Looking at this thing it is very sleek and sturdy looking. It has different settings, one where you can run it continuously over an area or over larger areas like your legs or a spot setting where it can be concentrated to specific areas as you move it spot to spot. I have only used this a handful of times and it says it can take up to 12 weeks to show results. The instruction booklet that comes with it is substantial and should answer any questions people have. I dont find that the process is painful, maybe like a very dull elastic band snap is the best way I can describe it. I will update again soon with results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] (I am trying this product for free from Braun.) When I began using the Venus Silk Expert, I decided to try it on just one leg. I wanted to be able to compare after the recommended time and see if there would be a noticeable difference. I'll share my results in a minute, but let me fill you in on the Silk Expert!!! I have wanted to try a hair removal system for the longest time. I especially wanted to try it on my face (upper lip/chin). I was quite disappointed to read that it was not to be used on the face. I've seen some info on the internet that said it can be used on the face, so I found this confusing. I am still unsure of the answer. That being said... the product is extremely easy to use. The first time I tried it, I experienced a little pain, but after just a few tries, it was relatively painless. I tried the Silk Expert in gliding mode. It is important to note that you need to take your time on this. It is not a long process, but if you go too fast, you will miss hairs. I've used the product about once a week for the last 8 weeks. The directions state that it can take up to 12 weeks to see results, so as I am writing this, I am not yet finished with the full process. So with that in mind... here is my findings. While I feel that the hair on my leg is growing a little more slowly, I'm not able to say for sure if this will be a permanent solution. I plan to continue using the Silk Expert until I see the desired results!

I was so excited to receive this product and opened it and tested it out immediately. I was surprised at how little it hurts and it's very quick, especially for smaller areas. I used it for my underarms, bikini and some tiny facial areas like upper lip etc. I'm excited to start seeing results!

I treated just my lower legs to start, since it's the easiest place to reach plus the easiest place to tell if it's working. I swear the hair grew back a little slower than it usually does! Normally I can only go 2 days before desperately needing to shave again, but this time I went 3. I treated again today (week #2), and we'll see if the results are even better this time! I did feel a little stinging with the pulse occasionally, but it's not even as painful as tweezing a hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I was skeptical that this product would work, and I assumed I would just find patches of areas that it worked and patches where it didn't work. I was pleasantly surprised that just after a few weeks of doing this hair on my legs grew slower and slower. What was most surprising to me was the fact that I could go days without shaving my underarms. To me, this was a big deal because I have very dark hair and very pale skin so hair is very noticeable on my underarms. After only 5 weeks, I noticed that the regrowth had slowed down – which was an amazing thing! Normally, I would see regrowth by mid-day! I have been overwhelmed with the effect this has created for me, as we are getting into warmer season where more skin will be showing. I am thrilled with the results, and have not stopped talking about how well it has worked. It has saved me time, money, and has even been a confidence boost when I head to the gym after work. I had tossed around the idea of going and having professional laser hair removal done, but I feel this product offers the same results – and the benefit of doing it privately in my home on my time is a huge bonus! I can't say enough positive things about this product. I followed the instructions in the manual to ensure that I was doing the process correctly, and made sure to refresh my memory before each session. The great thing about this is that it takes so little time to do both legs and under arms, and you can choose the intensity setting for each area. My only complaint was that on certain areas of my legs, especially my knee pits, the sensation was ticklish and slightly uncomfortable. However, it quickly went away and did not deter my efforts to get my entire leg. After about 5 weeks I noticed that the frequency with which I needed to shave decreased drastically. I was amazed at how only just patches of hair was growing and my time shaving was reducing with each use. After using weekly for going on 7 weeks, I am very impressed with the effects of this product. As I will be traveling a great deal this summer, I am happy to know that I can easily get by without having to pack a razor with me. Not to mention as summer approaches the need to shave will accomdate the ability to wear shorts, skirts, and dresses. I have been praising this product to so many people - who are all as equally shocked that an at home product like this actually works well! Even compared to the spendy price tag of this item, it is far less than having it professionally done and it accomodates your schedule! I am very happy with the results and will continue to for the full 8 weeks and from there just do touch up spots as the manual suggestions. I do recommend a thorough reading of the manual and to follow it's instructions. While it's hard to be patient, it is well worth the end results! Fantsic product!

I was a little nervous about trying it, and I wanted to be sure I understood. The package inserts made it very clear how to proceed. I followed the directions to do a small sensitivity test and it all went well. I was surprised by the feeling initially. It was a small jolt of heat that surprised me, but certainly didn't hurt in any way. I had no adverse effect from the sensitivity test, so I went forward with doing my entire leg the next day. It took awhile, but not an outrageous amount of time. I have been using the IPL every week as directed in the package insert and have noticed that the hair growth on my legs has been much less than before.

I've been a huge fan of the Venus since my teen years, but this was my first time using an IPL product and wasn't sure what to expect. Product claims & Benefits: 1. Permanent visible hair removal. 2. Safe and tailored to your skin. 3. An effective at-home solution. 4. Fast treatments. 5. Gentle and virtually painless. 6. Convenient. My response to Product claims & Benefits: 1. I haven't yet been using the product long enough to see the long-term results myself. 2. The product seems safe and there are settings to tweek to make the product fit your individual needs. 3. This is a nice alternative to having to make an appointment for hair removal. 4. These treatments are definitely quicker than professional appointments. 5. I didn't experience any discomfort. The light seems a bit warm against the skin, but it didn't bother me. I should point out that I do not have sensitive skin though. 6. It's definitely convenient! My initial feedback is that this is definitely something I'd like to try for a few months to determine long term effects.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this free from Braun to test and give my unbiased opinion. I have been using this weekly for about 8 weeks and have to say I am impressed. It's easy to use, just slowly glide it over your body. For more difficult areas like your knees, you can use precision mode. I do notice a small feeling of heat when it pulses, and in some areas the feeling of being lightly flicked, like by a rubber band. Otherwise it doesn't really hurt and isn't very uncomfortable. It doesn't take long either! I have been using it on my legs and have noticed a dramatic decrease in hair, which is awesome! I have pale skin and dark hair which is very noticeable, even a few hours after shaving. Now I don't get that odd 5 o'clock shadow on my legs and they stay smoother much longer. My hair and skin color are pretty much the ideal combination for something like this, and I definitely recommend it to anyone whose coloring is similar!

So when I was given a chance, by Braun, to try the product for free, I couldn't have been more excited!!! I think I checked the mailbox a million times waiting for it to arrive. The box finally arrived, and I dove right in. I began by reading thru the instructions. I found them easy to understand, but I felt a little intimidated by the Silk-expert (probably because I read it could be a little painful). To begin, it is suggested that you do a 24-hour spot test to be sure there is no negative reaction. That was the longest 24 hours ever!!! I was so excited to get started. I'm three weeks into treatment now, and have found the Silk-expert very simple to use. Most areas are easy to reach, but you might have to change direction around the ankles and others places where the area is too narrow to activate the Silk-expert (it does not work unless it is fully pressed against the skin). So far, I only have two little downsides...First, the light is very bright. The instructions say you don't need eye protection, but that you may want to look away from the light (however, it's hard to look away and watch what you're doing.) Second, I was surprised by the sting of the full strength light. I switched over to gentle.

I have tried the tria and the flash n go and both were ok but this is better. The machine itself is smaller and seems like the flashes go quicker. The only thing I would mention is that the power pack on the plug seems to weigh the cord down and sometimes it gets disconnected. Otherwise I am really liking this product and can't wait to see even more results.
