[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the Venus Silk-expert every week for the past 7 weeks, I have to say I'm really impressed. Whenever I shaved my legs and underarms in the past, I'd have stubble within 24 hours and noticeable hair growth by the 2nd day. It took just 2 weeks using the Silk-expert for me to first notice the hair growth slowdown between weeks (I only shaved on the days I used the Silk-expert). By the 5th week, I had just a few short hairs crop up on my legs by the time I shaved (nothing on my underarms), and after the 7th, I'm still waiting for any hair to show up after my last treatment almost a week ago. The biggest benefit is that I no longer suffer from the 2nd day itchiness that always plagued me when I exclusively shaved. One curious thing - maybe a benefit. I have a couple of small dark brown spots on my legs - kind of like freckles. At some point the Silk-expert seemed to kind of zap them, turning the freckles a gray color. After a few more treatments, these freckles have almost entirely faded. Interesting. At any rate, I love not having to shave every other day. And my skin feels and looks much smoother than it ever has before.

I can see a very noticeable difference between the leg I've been using it on and the one that I haven't. While I'm not hair free on the right leg, there is significantly less hair than the left and I can only imagine it will continue to lessen as I use the device! The Silk-expert has been painless and pretty quick to use once I got the hang of it! There are a couple of things that I wish were included with the Silk-expert- -Sunglasses! Even though the light is supposed to be safe, I wore sunglasses when I used this because the light is SO bright! Even when I looked away it seemed too bright out of the corner of my eye. -Storage and protection. I really wish this came with a protective cap for the active end of the unit. I was concerned about damaging it so I kept it in the box it came in which is HUGE and made storing it difficult. A protective cap and a cute storage bag would be great! I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a simple to use product to reduce hair growth. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really didn't have high expectations of the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun®. Luckily, I do have the best combo of skin tone & hair color for the tool (fair skin with dark hair). First, you shave your legs as you normally would, then use the tool. It emits a light pulse that affects the hair growth - slowing or possibly even stopping it. Since I have been using the tool, I have gone from needing to shave every other day to 3-4 days between shaves. And that is without using it every week as directed - I am sure I would have even better results if I had been able to use it weekly! It is a little time-consuming to use it, as the light window is small compared to one's legs! My daughter would like to use it too, but she has blonde hair, so it may not work for her as well as it does for me. We may try it though! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I suffer from eczema, so shaving is always an annoyance, especially in the winter when my skin is extra dry. Typically, i end up with dry, irritated skin that's flaky/ashy and easily cuts, so I end up with a little red stripes decorating my legs. Using the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® a much more enjoyable experience and definitely has reduced the irritation of dry, flaky, and cut up legs after shaving. I can now go at least an extra day or two between shaves, and my hair seems to grow back slightly thinner each time. My legs are MUCH nicer and smoother to the touch. I'm really looking forwards to using the Silk-expert over the winter, when I typically "hibernate" from shaving due to irritation and discomfort. I would recommend this produce to anyone who has issues with sensitivity or suffers from razor irritation, or just wants an easier and more effective way to shave. No more shaving - messy waxing - Yeah!
Before Silk Expert, had to wax legs + bikini + pits every few weeks especially during 'bathing suit season.' Now all areas stay hair free for months! After regular use, what hairs do pop up are baby fine. I'm able to literally go months (plural) with no hair, which is especially great during the summer when those areas get exposed. Go on a 2-week beach vacation & not worry about needing to de-hair? Yes Please.
The GOOD: When used as recommended it works great! Most hair is gone for good & the few that come back are much finer (less visible) softer (no itchy grow back). You can be hair free for months. It's well made, sturdy & lasts for years.
The BAD: It is not entirely pain free, although not really any worse than waxing. If you have a low pain threshold, the 'feather' setting helps. The UGLY: It's not inexpensive. Definitely less than laser treatments. Given how long the Silk Expert works (I've had mine for several years) it pays for itself especially if you're getting professional wax treatments. It would take a lot of razor blades to equal the cost, but then you're not going to have to shave every day!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Gillette Venus Silk-expert powered by Braun is super easy to Use. After shaving the desired area, you just plug it in and go. I have been using it for several weeks and do notice fewer hair, but it takes 12 weeks to see full results. It really doesn't hurt but gives slight tingling sensations that take getting used to.

My first impression of the unit is that it's made very well and isn't too heavy when I hold it. I made sure to follow the instructions upon my first usage. During my first try, I was a bit cautious since I have never tried any type of laser hair removal. It took a little getting used to the sensation. Some parts of my leg felt nothing while other areas were a bit more sensitive. The sensation feels a bit like a rubber band flick on the skin. It's not painful. It did take some getting used to in terms of figuring out the best way to position the device on my leg, but once I got the hang of it, it took 5 minutes at most to do both legs. After a week, I did notice that my leg hairs grew a bit more slowly. I'm on my 3rd week now and have noticed a significant decrease in hair growth on my legs. Can't wait to see the final results in 9 more weeks.

I have used the Silk Expert over a period of several weeks and am fairly impressed with the product. The device itself is somewhat heavy but not unwieldy and about the size of a rolling pin. I'm impressed with the results of the device - over a 3 week period, I have noticed fewer hairs and less noticeable hair where it has not gone away completely (I have light skin and dark hair, which is supposedly the combination the Silk Expert will be most effective on). I was initially concerned with the IPL technology because I didn't want to be causing myself undue skin damage, but everything I read indicates that (as of this time) it doesn't put you at an increased risk for skin cancer. The downside to the product is its initial cost, however it pales in comparison to the expense of repeated professional skin treatments. There is a learning curve, but it's not difficult to master. The process takes more time and care than shaving with a regular razor, but I believe it's worth it in the long run and I was grateful to have had the chance to try this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading through the instructions and doing a test area to make sure there was no adverse reaction, I used my Gillette Venus Silk Expert on my legs. It's so cool to "shave" my legs in bed! I placed my IPL device on my leg near the ankle and waited for the white lights to appear letting me know it's ready to go then, I pressed the button. A bright, red light flashed and I felt the pulse of heat just slightly. I chose to lift the device up and place it back down on each section of skin but you can glide the device over your leg for a more continuous motion. It's going to take some getting used to but overall, I'm pleased with how easy it is to use! I was also worried that it would be uncomfortable but I'm happy to reports that it's not bad at all!! When it was all saiid and done, I spent 20 minutes to complete both legs.

I was apprehensive before using it, and thought there was NO WAY that it would reduce my hair growth . I woukd normally shave daily, otherwise the stubble was noticeable not only to the touch but to the sight . I've been using this product now approximately 5 weeks , going on to six , and the results are AMAZING !! I've been able to easily go all week without having to shave. The hair has diminished greatly in such a short amount of time. Even the hair under my arms is starting to show less . I have raved to all my friends and coworkers to run out and by one . Definitely more convinient and affordable than going in to a salon to get it done . While I understand everyone's results will vary , I can honestly say that mine have been fantastic . Will continue to use it !! Thank you #Braun for making me one of the lucky individuals to have received it for free. I only have good things to say about this product . Love it !
