I was so excited to receive this product and opened it and tested it out immediately. I was surprised at how little it hurts and it's very quick, especially for smaller areas. I used it for my underarms, bikini and some tiny facial areas like upper lip etc. I'm excited to start seeing results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Gillette Silk-expert for a little over a month now and have had great results. The hair on my legs has diminished greatly. I used to have thick, fast growing dark hair. It has now come in thinner and in most areas it is gone. There are just some small patches. It seems as though they are in areas that I must have missed. The areas are usually in a line and the same shape/size as the laser window. I haven't had to shave under my arms in 2 weeks (no, not because it's winter but because its gone!) I have been so impressed with the results this far! I am completely sold on it!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's only been a week, but I've used it for my lower legs and underarms. I read the instructions, although it is simple to use. Shave first, make sure there's no oil or lotion on the spots you are treating and that's it. Took me less than 10 min to do my underarms and lower legs. I felt no pain on my legs, but used the gentle mode on my armpits. No redness or irritation occurred. I didn't have any issues with treatment, although I did turn the device perpendicular to my ankle because both skin sensors didn't touch otherwise. Now, waiting til next week to treat again. :) Braun sent me the device for in order to test and review.

The hair growth is very light and I don't feel the need to shave them every time I jump in the shower. I still have no pain from the process and the more I handle the device the easier it is to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate to shave, so I was excited to have the Chance to try the new Gillette Venus Silk-expert! I was super impressed when I opened the box. It looks and feels like a solid and expensive piece of equipment. . I started by shaving both of my legs with the included razor. I decided to only use the Device on my right leg so that I will be able to compare the results at the end of the trial period. I held the treatment window to my leg and the LEDs lit all the way up, indicating a very light skin tone and the highest power setting. NOTE: there is a Gentle Setting you can also use, but I went with the automatically detected setting. You can hold down the button and it will flash every couple seconds or you can press the button for individual flashes. I used both methods depending on where on my leg I was applying the device. The flashes are very bright, l and for the most part I only felt a little heat at the area but it was not painful for me. It only took a couple minutes to finish my leg and now about a half hour later I am not experiencing any negative side affects. I Really hope this Gillette device works as promised and will continue to use it weekly and will provide further updates!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's so difficult as a busy working parent to find time to shave! I was given the opportunity to test the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert for free. This product removes unwanted hair using UV light, similar to going for hair removal treatments. I was excited to try this product as it's from Braun but also was skeptical how well it would work. Surprisingly it works well but does take a lot of time. The first time I used it I went fast and missed a lot of places. The second time I used it I went much slower to hit more areas which seemed to work better. I did notice some issues like knowing where you already hit or missed. You also need to make sure you have good contact with the skin, which is why going slow is important. Under arms and legs contain many hard areas to hit (knees, ankles, ect) so it's hard to make sure you hit the spot. Third, it's hard to see what you're doing when you shouldn't look at the bright light. Relax, catch up in some of your shows and take your time and you'll get good results! Such a cool product to be able to get professional treatment at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had first heard about IPL (intense pulsed light) on the radio from someone else who had tried it. She had dark leg hair and said she was perfect for it and it worked great! I looked it up and having this done can cost thousands of dollars, so I was not interested. When I heard that Braun made IPL devices for personal use, I thought what a great idea! They sent me one to try in exchange for an honest review. The full treatment cycle takes 12 weeks, so I have yet to see the final results but I will tell you all of my thoughts so far. The fancy packaging contains one IPL device, cords, one razor and a user manual. I read the user manual front to back before use which is very important. I learned many important things from the manual, first is that the device only works optimally on mid to light skin tones and darker shades of hair. Perfect for me, but wouldn't work for someone with very dark skin and very light hair. A few more important notes I learned is that it is not intended for use this on the face. I have a few dark hairs on my upper lip I had intended to try this on, but now I know that is a no-no! However it's perfect for women on the legs and underarms and bikini line, and even men who think they have too much back hair can give it a try as well! I was a little intimidated to use the device because of what it is. I had in my mind that it was a laser beam is be focusing on my skin and that it would be easy to hurt myself with it. However, thankfully I found it very easy to use, as easy as simply shaving! I also thought that it would be awkward to use all around my legs. The flat front of the device needs to maintain constant contact with the skin and legs are round! However I never had any issue with the device loosing proper contact. It was easy and quick! No discomfort and no negative reaction. If I see good results I would recommend this product to everyone, I am so impressed!

I have tried the tria and the flash n go and both were ok but this is better. The machine itself is smaller and seems like the flashes go quicker. The only thing I would mention is that the power pack on the plug seems to weigh the cord down and sometimes it gets disconnected. Otherwise I am really liking this product and can't wait to see even more results.

You really have to commit to using this as per the directions but if you do results will be visible. In the beginning I thought I would never see a change but after using this for several weeks and having it become part of my grooming routine, I can actually say that I have seen less hair growth. I know understand that all hairs grow back at different speeds and rates and this is why you need to be really disciplined in using it but I have to say the results speak for itself. Once you start seeing results you become more motivated to use it to continue to see the results you want. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The device was easy to put together and use and I found it glides easily over all areas it's designed for.
