I have been using it for five weeks and I havent noticed a difference yet. I have only been using it on my armpits, but I am pretty disappointed.

I love having the convenience of an IPL device for at-home use and to bring along during time away. It's exciting to have the means to achieve long-term to permanent hair removal at your convenience and comfort. I've had laser and IPL hair removal sessions at the spa and I know how time-consuming and costly these can be. This device is great as a means to touch up in between sessions at the spa or medical office or on its own. Depending on how many areas of your body you are seeking to treat, the cost of the device runs about half the cost of a package of 5 sessions for one verrry small area while this device can treat your entire body until you reach the results you desire. It takes patient and consistency to yield long-term to permanent results, but it's easy to hold and use, and in the convenience of your home you can use it while watching TV or during commerical breaks so it seems like a win-win. It's a great item to consider as a gift to yourself or to place on your wish list and add to your at-home beauty ritual. I can already see results in the few short weeks I've been using it and look forward to achieving even better results over time.

I had just been discussing wanting to try an at home high tech hair removal product when I was invited to participate in this. It couldn't have come at a more perfect time! I was so excited to try the Gillette Venus Silk-expert and couldn't wait for my package to arrive. When I opened the box, the laser was nicely packaged with great graphics on the box. The outside of the box gave a really great explanation as to what to expect from the product inside. I was really impressed and even more excited to try it now! The instructions and safety information regarding how to use the product were very detailed and easy to understand. Preparing the treatment area prior to using the product was very easy. Having used similar products in the past I was impressed by the features such as the sensor that lets you know if you have applied the device to your skin correctly. By clicking a button, the device then flashes a pulse of light. I'm very impressed by the ability the device has to sense your skin tone and adjust accordingly. It was a breeze to use and I'm really looking forward to see how well this works as time progresses!

I'm really happy to say that the Gilette Venus Silk IPL unit (so far) is completely painless and was VERY easy to use. Understanding how to use it was simple because I read the entire guide thoroughly and watched a video to make sure I understood. I waited about a week for my hair to grow out a bit because I really want a before and after throughout the course of my reviews in order to be as honest as possible. Using the product is easy. It comes with a supply cord that stays plugged in so there are no batteries required. There is a glide feature that is FANTASTIC and makes the process very quick. You do feel heat sensations but no pain whatsoever. You will need to make sure that you are freshly shaven as it can burn you if you have any actual hair growth (so says the manual) and it only works with lighter skin tones so may not be for someone who has darker skin. I really, really love that it has 300k flashes so it should last for a few years and you don't have to continually buy replacement cartridges. I'll keep posting updates as I move through the next several weeks but so far so good! I'm ecstatic to see the end result! I've posted a picture below of the treated area (armpit) directly after use so you can tell there is no redness, swelling or discomfort. Only a little razor burn which is why I decided on permanent hair removal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good! I was so excited to get this from bzzagent. I have used it twice so far on my underarms. I haven't noticed a significant change in my hair growth just yet but I know I will. I plan on starting on my legs in two weeks when I get back from vacation as the directions say to not be in direct sunlight for seven days after use. I can't wait to use it on my legs! It is very easy to use and the directions are easy. It is a weird sensation when you use it but that goes away in like two seconds. Not too uncomfortable to stop using it or anything. While I know I still have to use it quite a bit more to get to where no hair grows, but I do believe that the hair on my underarm is already growing back more slowly then before the two times I have used the silk expert . I am excited for the next few weeks of use!

My hair on my legs is growing in slower and less of it. I am not needing to shave as often. Yay! The grip is a little awkward and larger than I like but the more I do it the easier it is.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this unit for several weeks now as directed and the results have been amazing. I have used this specifically for my legs but will be using it for other areas after my leg treatments are finished. This product is so easy to use and you can't mess up. I have noticed less and less hair growth over the last few weeks and have found that instead of shaving my legs every 2 days, I have now begun to only shave my legs once a week, the day I use this machine. And when I do shave on the one day a week, I am not even sure I need to do it then, but you are supposed to shave before using so I just do. It is going to be a great summer with low maintenance hair-free legs. Next up....armpits!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The box was easy to open and contained the unit, power cable, a Gillette Venus razor, and the instruction manual (pictured). I read through the whole manual before I tried it to make sure I knew exactly how it worked. I was a little scared about shooting myself with a laser! The manual says to not use it on freckles, moles, dark spots, etc. I am fair skinned with dark hair (the ideal for using this product), but I have a ton of freckles and moles on my legs, so using it on my legs without hitting one of those is impossible. Also the manual stated that you should avoid sun exposure for 7 days on the treatment area. This is probably doable in the winter, but it's summer now and a lot of my body is getting sun exposure every day. So I recommend that if you want to do arms or legs to start use this product in the winter so you can follow that rule. Due to this I decided to use this on my underarms and bikini area. I followed the instructions and prepared by shaving the treatment areas with the included razor. I plugged it in and a loud fan starts to run. Figuring out how to do the treatments took a little practice, but I feel like I had mastered it by the third time using the unit. At first it is hard to figure out if you are putting the treatment areas close enough together, but you can see the areas you missed as the hair glows back in. For me some areas had finer hair and slower growth, then there were strips between these areas with normal hair, so I could see I needed to do the treatments closer together. The treatments feel like when you accidentally touch your curling iron to your skin for a second (really hot, but it doesn't burn). For me the skin looked the same after being treated and wasn't even red. There was also a slight burned hair smell. I have done three treatments one week apart so far and I'm seeing results. The hair coming in is finer and growing slower. I'm going to continue using the unit because it's so nice not to have to shave my underarms every day! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Venus Silk-expert for over a month now. I used in on my underarms. The directions were easy to follow. The pulsating light felt warm with a little sting every time I pressed the treatment button. I became used to it very quickly though. The light is a little bright so I would not recommend looking at it directly. I used it once a week and noticed a significant decrease in the number of hairs growing back under my arms. It's so easy to use and I'm so happy that I don't have to shave every other day anymore. I can't wait to try it on other parts of my body.

I don't want a stranger up, close and personal in my business and touching my body. No, thank you! I especially don't want them to to be in any of my personal areas....I am just that type of person I guess. So this device for me is fabulous! It allows me to take care of hair removal on my own and not feel like I need to "bare all" to someone I have never met before. I will say though that I do feel like the size and shape could be improved. I have awkward areas that I would like to remove hair from. Toes, ankles, chin...you can't do that with a device like this as the great safety features protect you from it not going off on smaller areas. But hey- who/what doesn't have room for improvement?
