[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have just gotten the Gillette Silk expert free from Braun to try. I have used it 1 time. I will write another review after a few weeks. I love the way it looks. The instructions are simple to follow. So I am ready to go. I shaved a small section of my leg and tried it. Waited 24 hours as instructed. No reaction. I shaved my legs and armpits and tried it out. It was simple to use on my arm pits. The regular setting was great. Just took a couple minutes. It was warm but didn't hurt. On to the legs. It was bulky and difficult to get started around my ankles at first but once I found a position that worked, it was great. I had to switch it to gentle for my knees and behind my knees. I found it was faster to push the button each time rather than hold it down. By the time I finished my first leg, my hand was tired. I think it would be better if it was slightly smaller. Overall, it was easy to use and fairly gentle. Now I am waiting to see the results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first heard about this product I was so excited to try it, I mean who doesn't want to "not" have to shave so often or even at all. It's simple enough to use, with easy to follow directions. It really does have an intense light flash so be prepared for it as it can be blinding. Product itself was not really what I expected and thought that I'd have better results. My hair on my legs are very fine and if I do t shave, it's not visible to the human eye. So, my first couple of uses, I felt like there's a delay between when you push the button for the intense light pulse that there would be spots missed. Also, please be advised that you must be freshly shaved! It was maybe the 3rd day, so there was barely hair, but when I used it on my legs I literately felt like I was getting shocked! If you have hair it will burn the hair (I could smell it) and you'll feel intense heat like you got burned. I continued to use for several weeks, but barely noticed a visible reduction in hair growth. There were some areas with no hair and areas with hair, I'm honestly assuming those were the areas where there is a delay when pushing the button. Personally, I did not find this product helpful or useful to me. It may work better for someone else, but not for me.

This is a lot larger than it looks in the advertisements, however I did not think it was heavy. After reading the instructions I was a little afraid to use it, as all the warnings scared me. When j first tried it I put it on gentle, I could not feel a thing! Going on to the second leg it felt warmer against my skin but that was all. I am used to having to shave every other day no matter what, it has now been 4 days and there is very little new growth as of now. I believe this is a product every woman should own, I had no itching or redness after using the product, when I get my eyebrows waxed I never swell or get red either so I can't say for sure if it is my skin or if the product would be irritating. The picture shows my leg 5 minutes after treatment.

Presentation and packaging was beautiful! Excited to give it a go upon arrival! Used today for the first time on my legs, underarms, and bikini line. I used normal strength on legs and the gentle cycle on my underarms, and bikini line. Very easy to use! There was a slight warm feeling, but not uncomfortable . I also wore my sunglasses, as the pulseing light was bright. I may invest in darker protection sun glasses. Over all- quick and easy! Looking forward to seeing results!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initial thoughts: I used this on my armpits and bikini line as I'm not supposed to expose treated skin to sunlight (and its summer)! Just plug it in and snap. However, I wish the "gentle" button was a switch. Hit it once and gentle mode is on until it's hit again. I thought I had to hold it down while snapping. It's warm when it flashes and I'm itchy afterwards for just a few minutes. It's hard to not look at the flash to protect ur eyes. Maybe uv glasses would be a nice add into the package. I like the feature of automatically adjusting to skin type. It's difficult to know if the area was treated or not so that there isn't overlap as instructed. If I can't look at the flash, and there's no indication that there was treatment, I'm not sure how to avoid overlap. I got the unit for free from Braun.

OMG! This truly works. I have light skin and DARK, THICK, COURSE hair I have only used it 3 times and the hair in my underarms has almost disappeared! It is quick and easy to use. I would not describe the feeling as discomfort at all. It just feels heated sometimes. And sometimes you can smell burnt hair. Which I think just makes you feel like you are really doing something. I'm so excited! I don't mind if I have to do my legs 10 or 20 times... if I know it is gonna work in the end! BTW, I've done laser hair removal at a doctor's office. I spent thousands of dollars and the results of this are already better and quicker. So impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now been using the Venus Silk-expert Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) system for over 8 weeks now. I continue to be impressed with my results. It is safe, fast and effective. The system is super easy to use, straight out of the box. I just prep the skin before by shaving to remove any traces of visible hair, plug in the device and 3 bars will light up and you will hear the fan running. Then I press the treatment window against my skin and then the treatment button. The device will flash and you'll feel a warm sensation, continue moving the device along the skin until the entire area is treated. That's it! Since using this device for 8 weeks I've seen a great reduction in hair growth, not completely hairless but so much better. I will continue using this device each week until I'm completely satisfied with the hair removal. Overall this is the best device I've ever used to get rid of hair permanently!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes when this arrived. After reading the instructions, I gathered that with certain skin colors, this device will not work. For the record, I am a very light skinned African American person. I quickly aligned my skin tone with that of the pamphlet as it stated it would work and went for it! Lo and behold, I was disappointed. The only place I could use it was on my stomach...no legs, no bikini line. The device simply will not work if it thinks that your skin is too dark. Overall, I would love a product that would work...but this just wasn't it. I received this free from Braun in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, if I hadn't received it free, I would be a bit disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little worried trying this product as I eagerly would love to eliminate the need to shave but was concerned that this might be too uncomfortable or painful. Boy was I wrong!! The Gillette Venus Silk-expert was SOO easy to use and very pain free! I have fair skin and can get a tan when exposed to the sun, my hair however is very dark. The ease of use for this product was amazing, simply plug and play and you are ready to start zapping hair growth away. Caution- you do have to make sure that you have removed all of the hair in the treatment area first otherwise you get to smell the not so pleasant smell of singed hairs. Due to the summer time and our multiple beach visits, I was able to complete 4 weekly treatments and I can already tell the outstanding results! I usually have to shave my legs every 2 days to get rid of those unsightly hairs. After my first treatment I noticed that i went almost 4 days with minimal hair growth. After more treatments the timing grew before I had to shave again. The picture I attached are of my legs not having been shaved for an entire week and half and I can barely see any hair growth! This product is a must have for anyone looking to eliminate the need for shaving in a convenient pain free way. The only downside is that it is not instant and will take some time to see permanent results but lucky for me the results were noticeable in a very short amount of time. Braun did provide me this item complimentary as a review, but given the success, I would definitely invest in purchasing one for myself or friend in the future.

The package contained one Gillette Venus Razor, one hair removal device, and one power supply. I didn't experience any discomfort and have seen results right away. The light is a little warm against the skin, but it wasn't anything to be bothered by. You are able to get into the hard little areas with it. This a must for anyone wanting to get rid of hair.
