I bought this to replace my Apple TV. Nothing necessarily wrong with the AppleTV but I hate the ATV remote. Its way too sensitive...I like the Roku setup much better. That being said, I stream via DirecTVNow and the Roku does not work well with DirecTVNow. I get the blue box of death way too often, making shows completely unwatchable. I don't get this with the AppleTV and DirectvNow. So while I want to use the Roku (BTW, I have two other Roku devices) I can't until the issue with DirecTVNow is resolved. I may have to upgrade my Comcast internet service but I'm already getting 75+mb down speeds

Love it. Major improvement in speed and definition over our older generation streaming stick. Simple setup. The picture on our ultra 4K TV is outstanding. So long cable and satellite. We have a Tablo attached to an OTA antennae and it works beautifully. Also use Netflix, Amazon, Sling, and HBONow.

I just bought this device on November 30 2019. I will not do anything. I would select a language and then enter my wifi. After that it wanted to update which it wouldn't do. Once the update was finished it would go straight back to the select a language. I was in a chat with one of the support teams and they informed me that I had a defected device and to exchange it for a new one. I did exchange it for a new one and the same thing is STILL happening. This time I called the support number and all of a sudden it started to work. Once I got off the phone with the team member, I was about to set up all of my accounts but as soon as I went to set up my netflix account it would not load the app. Then it did a reset on it's own and ended up going back to the select a language page. I called once again and explained what had happened and I was told that there is nothing wrong with the roku device and that it was my internet. Well let me tell you it is not my internet because if it was then NONE of my other devices would be connected. I will NOT reccomend this streaming stick to ANYONE there is too many problems with it and the support team doesnt know how to help. I will be going to amazon fire stick.

I opted for ROKU when my Apple TV bit the dust. This is soooo much easier and using the iPhone app makes it even easier to navigate around and enter your username and passwords to the sites you subscribe to. Considering that this was half the price of the next generation Apple TV, there was not question. The only thing I do not have is streaming what is on my iPad on the TV screen - but that is a minor inconvenience.

I set this this stick up on tv that had cable. Set up was quick. I as already had Roku account and device on another tv so all my channel selection easily transferred to this tv. I picked the stick because it mated to the tv and is the only remote needed.

This is the 3rd Roku and 2nd Roku streaming we have purchased for our household and we upgraded to the 4K streaming stick to go with our 4K TV. The remote for this stick is able to turn on/off your TV and control the volume, which is great when it works. I would estimate this capability works about 95% of the time, which is better than the response we get from the actual stick itself. Our Roku stick becomes unresponsive about 25% of the time, but the remote will still control the TV just fine. We have had it for only a couple months and have already changed the batteries wondering if this would help solve the issue. We have had to disconnect the power to the stick to reset it multiple times when this happens. It's irritating when you spend money for a product and it doesn't work 100% of the time. At that rate, it would have been just as well to buy used.

I have enjoyed Roku for many years, but with one (two?) complaint(s) —- always needing TV remote to turn on & off and most particularly volume control. The latest Roku generation solved my problem(s), so I upgraded. Now if there was only a TV Input Button to switch HDMI ports I could totally put the TV remote in a drawer.

I was skeptical about what the quality would be streaming. I hung a spare television in the garage for when I work out. Anyway, I was skeptical what the streaming would look like since the garage is far from the wireless router. The quality is top notch no interruptions.

Love the features and YouTubeTV has stopped buffering. Hate that Rokus go obsolete so fast. Have to buy a new device frequently for some streaming services as updates don't seem to keep pace. The new streaming stick + has nice features, but it's so long compared to the previous one, that it cannot be used on many TVs. People cannot buy all new streaming devices and TVs every year. I wish developers of devices amd services would better address this. I'm retired, on a fixed income. TV is about my only escape. Looks like that will be taken from me soon as well.

This is my fourth ROKU player. This ROKU Streaming Stick + was purchased to replace one of the original ROKU players purchased years ago when ROKU came out. Purchase was necessary to get all the current streaming channels (specifically DirecTV Now). This is a fantastic player that allows access to all the streaming channels and provides "voice search" and lets me turn the TV off and on and also control the volume.
