Very Nice

Just bought this and it was so easy to install into the TV. It updated itself once it was connected to the Internet. It found the WiFi automatically, I put the password in and I was on my way. No box on the table as it is hidden behind the TV. Great invention and the WiFi signal is strong with the stick.

Faster and Sharper picture

This is my 8th purchase. I have bought other brand name streaming device before and nothing beats ROKU. My main reason to buy is they have more apps than anyone. This latest ROKU was for my Samsung Smart TV whose streaming apps are very lacking! Picture quality is obviously better than the previous one and it's much faster.

Much Improved

I fell in love with Roku about two years ago. Low and behold, my wife says, “this 32” tv isn't cutting it anymore...” we get a 55” 4K tv. My son took the small tv with the Roku stick. I looked and compared for two hours before deciding on the Roku+. Not even a little disappointed! This thing is AMAZING!!!! I get experience tv in such high definition in ways I did not know was actually possible, it was very quick to set up, and the response on this device is so much quicker. I don't have much intel on those other guys, but I love the fact that Roku has all the access to the channels out there; I can purchase channels that I actually want along with the streaming options of the big companies out there. All-in-all, I don't think I want to try another device because this really has all the options I want. Very satisfied!

Remote is a definite +

Good upgrade from original Roku Stick that died on us, the added volume and power buttons to control the tv are very useful. Other than an issue with the usb port from tv not supplying enough power to device haven't had any other problems after plugging into an outlet w/ included adapter and cable.

I'm impressed

I already owned two other models, but had been given a new TV that I intended to put in the basement with my bicycle trainer to make indoor riding less boring. After reading many reviews, I decided to take a chance on the Stick+. I liked the idea of not having a box sitting on the table, and the ability to adjust TV power and volume from the remote. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the TV's USB port had enough output to keep the Stick+ happy. I'm happy with my choice. I don't like, however, that there is no headphone jack on the remote. I won't need it for this application, but I don't like having to drain my phone battery if I want to keep from disturbing others.

very disapointed

Froze up,but my biggest disappointment was I use a universal learning remote because I use a sound bar and with the Streaming stick plus I am not able to teach either of my remotes its functions.I know the Roku remote programs to my tv but like I said I use a sound bar which does not program to the Roku remote. It will not let me.It works on my Roku 3 fine. I can not stand having multi remotes laying around .So I guess after my Roku 3 dies I will have to look for another brand.

I bought this one month ago. I recently moved to a new place in the country and did not want to spend money on a monthly satellite bill. I was able to connect wireless to my landlord's WIFI, which is located relatively far from where my TV is located. I have never had problems with the WIFI or signal, nor any interruptions due to poor WIFI connection. There is a large selection of free channels, and in addition, I can subscribe to Netflix or PureFlix for advertisement free entertainment. The streaming stick connects to the HDM1 port in the back of the TV, eliminating clutter.

Ensure the remote can control your surround sound

I am a longtime Roku user, since the XD, I've owned 2 TVs and 4 devices, and have been a cord-cutter since 2015. I currently have a 2015 OLED LG TV hooked up to a Sonos 5.1 system via optical out. I prefer Roku's interface over LGs smart TV and was excited to see this 4K stick with a power button (having one remote is key in my house of 5 kids). While the Roku remote easily controlled the TV on/off, and would have controlled the volume of the TV speakers, despite a 3hr google search there was no way to control the Sonos volume. I did, however, learn that this is a common issue for owners of various brands of flat screen TVs hooked up to a sound system. I had to buy a Logitech harmony smart control/hub to control the TV, Roku, and Sonos.

Great UHD picture, easy setup

Bought roku streaming stick+ for my new UHD tv, to be able to stream in UHD, it was super easy to set up, so far I'm happy with the picture, and remote's ability to control volume and tv's power on/off, which is very convenient. Also, stick is perfect for the wall-mounted tv.

Great device with a few minor annoyances

I purchased this particular unit over other streaming units primarily because of the ability to control the TV's power and volume with the remote. That feature was nice and surprisingly easy to setup. The next reason I went with the Roku is because of both the other major options are to busy fighting over each other's services that thier devices don't meet my needs. The device itself works great and is much better and faster than the Panasonic smart TV app I have. The apps on the Roku are always up today which really lowers the frustration level when using them. The device does have some minor downfalls, the keyboard with the phone app doesn't always sync correctly with the device so you have to keep an eye out for what you are typing (although it's better than the on screen keyboard option.). The device appears to require more power (USB) right at startup than my TV can provide so I had to plug it into the wall, which is hard to always remember to stop what you are watching when you turn off the TV. This is a case where it would be nice if the device was smart enough to know when you press the power button you want the video to stop also.
