I had a first generation standard Roku Stick and was never happy with it. I actually bought a first generation FireTV Stick because the Roku was so slow it was frustrating. I started seeing some stories about the new Ultra and Streaming Stick+ with good reviews and info on the better wifi antenna and faster processor. One day I got an offer from Roku for the Stick+ for a good price and I decided to take the chance. I am so glad that I did. This stick is so much faster than the first generation basic stick that you can't even compare them (and I never lose wifi). There is no dancing Roku symbol to wait through every time you try to use it, you don't have to hit a button multiple times to get it started when it first starts up. It just starts up and is rolling as soon as you are ready. One thing I never thought I would use was the TV power and volume functionality because in these situations they usually don't work that well and tend to lose connection. Because the Roku is using the HDMI port to control the TV and not IR or wifi (I'm pretty sure that is what it's doing) it works great. In my bedroom I don't have cable, I just stream and now I only need my Roku remote for everything. I HIGHLY recommend the Streaming Stick+ unless you need the ports available with the Ultra. The experience is outstanding.

Rochester, NY TV cable box users are buying Roku's like crazy. Cable company scrambled signal. A friend and I have bought 5 Streaming+ units and are having excellent results. The drawbacks are no channel number entry, too many clicks to get to the Spectrum app channel desired, steep learning curve for accessing various features, navigating the Roku and Spectrum “screen settings” and knowing where you are, and two left arrows and Home button to master. HOWEVER it soon becomes easy to do, the picture is great, navigating channels is quick, AND you can access ALL the other non-cable company apps like Netflix with a couple clicks. It is a great solution to the money grubbing cable company boxes. Thanks Roku!

This is the 3rd Roku and 2nd Roku streaming we have purchased for our household and we upgraded to the 4K streaming stick to go with our 4K TV. The remote for this stick is able to turn on/off your TV and control the volume, which is great when it works. I would estimate this capability works about 95% of the time, which is better than the response we get from the actual stick itself. Our Roku stick becomes unresponsive about 25% of the time, but the remote will still control the TV just fine. We have had it for only a couple months and have already changed the batteries wondering if this would help solve the issue. We have had to disconnect the power to the stick to reset it multiple times when this happens. It's irritating when you spend money for a product and it doesn't work 100% of the time. At that rate, it would have been just as well to buy used.

I have been researching this product and needed to upgrade from my wonderful Roku 1. This product has delivered beyond expectations (and mine was very high because of my love of my Roku 1). I needed to upgrade and this stick blows away my original. Wow, ease of use, amazine setup. A powerful remote that paired with my tv like it was family. Just bought this and it was so easy to install into the TV. It updated itself once it was connected to the Internet. It found the WiFi automatically, I put the password in and I was on my way. No box on the table as it is hidden behind the TV. Great invention and the WiFi signal is strong with the stick.

Hookup was very easy but wouldn't it be easier to have one long cord instead of piecing it together. Also, you still have to point at the tv to make it work. Other than those 2 things I found it to be great. I like not having to see another piece of equipment on the shelf. This is hooked up to a new smart tv that did not give me my Acorn channel. Now I have it and easy to use and see again. I love my Roku! I have 3 and couldn't imagine not having it. Don't like streaming thru game box.

I bought this to replace my Apple TV. Nothing necessarily wrong with the AppleTV but I hate the ATV remote. Its way too sensitive...I like the Roku setup much better. That being said, I stream via DirecTVNow and the Roku does not work well with DirecTVNow. I get the blue box of death way too often, making shows completely unwatchable. I don't get this with the AppleTV and DirectvNow. So while I want to use the Roku (BTW, I have two other Roku devices) I can't until the issue with DirecTVNow is resolved. I may have to upgrade my Comcast internet service but I'm already getting 75+mb down speeds

I just bought this. I've had it for 2 days. And on the second day the roku tells me that the USB On my tv cannot power my roku. When starting up, it always says low power. And it brand new. The remote is not very sensitive, I usually have to press the buttons twice every single time I want to select something or go back or any other button I need to press

I've used an Apple TV 4, fire stick and the tried the Roku Stick+. The roku interface is simple and intuitive. The remote replaces the TV remote for power on/off and volume control. Unlike the Apple remote, there no accidently changing of channels. You also get amazon prime which Apple seems to be rolling out sometime, maybe? I wish The Roku would have been available when I signed up for Directtv Now. It would have saved me much frustration with Apple TV 4 and the very buggy fire stick. I have fast internet net and while the Apple TV is a solid streaming device, the absence of A prime and the sensitive touch remote makes the roku my streamer of choice. I also have a roku tv, the interface is superior to regular TV's. Wish Samsung, Sony or LG would adopt the Roku OS! Try it and you'll understand why the have over 50 % of the streaming market.

I have had a roku for some time. My first was the 3 which was top of the line and costed as much as an apple tv at the time and have loved it. I purchased this stick for another tv, but decided to use it on the main tv, glad I did. I have had no issues with this product. I like the fact that I did not have to run a power cord to it and can power it from my tv.
