Good 4K quality, bad remote connection

When first setting this up, the Roku froze at the auto detect 4K feature. After googling, it seemed like this wasn't uncommon. I unplugged it, waited, and it proceeded to connect after that. However now whenever I turn it on for the first time that day, I seem to have to put the remote directly next to the streaming stick for it to initially work, then I can go sit back down and it will function properly. The 4K is wonderful; a big difference between my older roku.

Very pleased/great product!

I've been using Roku sticks for the past 5 years and been very pleased. But, I was having some problems with a new installation because of the distance from my router. This new stick took care of that and I am very pleased to now only have to deal with one remote, thanks to the power on and volume control feature.

Fine, except for the pop-up spec screen?

Can someone explain why there's a pop-up screen that appears/disappears/reappears in the top left corner that displays "LCD TV" and several boxes (it looks like technical/spec stuff, but not sure)? It happens across apps, and covers navigation and screen while watching programs. Super annoying and despite searching high and low, can't seem to find clear instructions on how to make this pop-up disappear. I've seen other tutorials about other ad pop-ups on Roku, but not this specific one. NEVER had this problem with Firestick. It's intrusive, annoying and ruins the watching experience. Freely admit this could be user error/easy to fix, but so far ... haven't found anything that addresses this problem for the Roku Streaming Stick+.

Love this new item, works great!

Great product we now have 3 of them operational in our home and all are working well with at time minimal interruption, the only negative is we just recently lost streaming for WGN Channel 9 out of Chicago, and when we called and did an on line chat with Customer Service the agent we spoke to said we would have to contact them to find out the reason, was not happy about that as all I was trying to find out was the reason why we lost it, if it was a restricted marketing thing for our area the agent we spoke to should have been able to tell us that and not ask me ot do it on my own, this channle provided only tape delayed broadcasts, we had it origininally but it has since stopped streaming????

So simple to install even a grandma can do it.

I've had Roku's before but they were always set up by ‘the man of the house'. Suddenly finding myself with no installer, I was forced to tackle the setup of a new unit by myself. Much to my surprise and delight, the instructions were clear and simple and readable. The installation actually proceeded just as the step-by-step instructions predicted. Within a short period of time, I had functioning TV service. Who needs a man around the house? I can do it myself.

Answered my prayers

Roku did the one thing that I missed and was most frustrated by using my older Streaming Sticks - they provided power and volume controls. Wished they offered a keyboard so that I could move through the search process quicker - or at least find an improved way to accomplish this function. Do wish they provided an e-mail address to address problems.

Great Features, Easy to use Remote and Set Up Guid

I bought the Roku Ultra device about a month ago. I cut the cable and was able to watch live sports, local news and all kinds of free movie and live tv applications in minutes. My bill is only including the internet and an online subscription to SlingTV. The instructions were easy as soon as I figured out what I did with my Wi-Fi unsername and password. Thanks to the developers and CEO of Roku. My family is really enjoying our streaming experience on 3-4 devices at the same time.

This is great!

I already had a ROKU stick, needed a 2nd one and so ordered this one. The remote that came with this one INCLUDES the ability to sync with the TV and control off/on and volume (previous remote did not have that, we had to switch back and forth). I have had no problems with my old (and yes it's old) ROKU stick or with this one.

One time buy and enjoy free TV.

I bought the Roku Streaming Stick + six weeks ago and cancelled my high price cable company and never looked back. Very easy setup and user friendly menu. Hundreds of free movies and TV apps to choose from. Providers have very reasonable rates if you choose to use one. Wish I would have bought the Roku a long time ago and saved a ton of money. Love my Roku and you will too!!!

Poor Build Quality

I have 2 Roku Ultras bought within 2 weeks of each other. 1 Roku needs rebooted frequently for the past 16 months, now it is completely dead. Other Roku is starting to show the exact same symptoms. I have tried different power supplies and that hasn't helped. Of course neither is under warranty. Oh well no more Roku for me.
