I've had Roku's before but they were always set up by ‘the man of the house'. Suddenly finding myself with no installer, I was forced to tackle the setup of a new unit by myself. Much to my surprise and delight, the instructions were clear and simple and readable. The installation actually proceeded just as the step-by-step instructions predicted. Within a short period of time, I had functioning TV service. Who needs a man around the house? I can do it myself.

Great product we now have 3 of them operational in our home and all are working well with at time minimal interruption, the only negative is we just recently lost streaming for WGN Channel 9 out of Chicago, and when we called and did an on line chat with Customer Service the agent we spoke to said we would have to contact them to find out the reason, was not happy about that as all I was trying to find out was the reason why we lost it, if it was a restricted marketing thing for our area the agent we spoke to should have been able to tell us that and not ask me ot do it on my own, this channle provided only tape delayed broadcasts, we had it origininally but it has since stopped streaming????

I've been a loyal Roku user since 2012 (donated my old 2500 device) and currently have 3 newer Roku devices. I have 2 Roku Express that I got about a year ago and recently bought a Streaming Stick + back in June that works great with the Directv Now streaming TV service. With Directv Now there is no need to pay cable set top box rental fees and they don't have or charge for duplicate and infomercial filler channels. Roku offers so much other content that makes it easy to cut the traditional cable TV cord like my wife and I did back in January.

Received as a gift. However this is my 4th Roku. It seems as though the signal strength of my newest addition is stronger. Yay..they just keep getting better and better. I got rid of cable years ago and could not be happier with Roku. There are soooooo many channels and variety. Love it

Bought the Streaming Stick Plus about a year ago and it's worked great up until a couple months ago. The new enhanced remote constantly disconnects from the Roku and I have to reboot the Roku and re-pair the remote, which may take 2-3 tries. It does it on a weekly basis now and it drives me crazy! Before this issue started I was going to buy a couple more Rokus but not now. I'll be getting an Apple TV in the future. I'm done with Roku.

Streaming Stick+ failed. Won't power up. Tried different TV's, different outlets, different power cords, USB, etc... It won't power up. Contacted Roku - item is out of warranty (1 year warranty) and Roku isn't standing behind the product. Not a happy camper. Won't be purchasing Roku products again.

I've been using Rokus for 3 years, since cutting cord. I have 3 Streaming Stick+ and 2 Streaming Stick scattered around the house. I am extremely happy with all of them. I never have connection problems, as long as my router is connected (like any networked device, there will be the occasional network outages). I did upgrade my router when I cut the cord about 3 years ago. I have recommended these to many friends. I use Roku in lieu of my smart TV function, so all my TVs work the same. If you're still considering cord cutting, just do it! These work great with any TV (smart or not).

I don't know what the whining is about in other reviews, I have two TVs with it and one with express. It works very well and there is ample selection to watch free. I suggest the lazy people turn it off if they are not watching or buy a modern TV that has a screensaver. Cant wait for it to go on sale to get another one

set up was easy, works well with my tv. YouTube works with out using a browser!, has many Apps, Although it is pretty fast when loading Apps, I didn't give it 4 stars even though I wish it was faster and volume button was on the front instead of the side and had a sleep mode so I know its not using any WiFi bandwidth and possibly leaving a possible way for someone to hack in my network. When registering and setting up an account I had to put in card number(debit or credit). I don't intend to buy anything, this should be a option in my opinion. These are all minor nitpicks for me.

Roku did the one thing that I missed and was most frustrated by using my older Streaming Sticks - they provided power and volume controls. Wished they offered a keyboard so that I could move through the search process quicker - or at least find an improved way to accomplish this function. Do wish they provided an e-mail address to address problems.
