Remote died in few months for unknown reason

Low rating is due to failure of the remote. It simply stopped working within a few months and I had to buy a new one. Was not dropped or abused. Have to assume poor quality control. Very disappointing when buying a new remote costs almost as much as a new player including the remote. Support was slow to respond.

Excellent picture

Love the roku streaming stick+ that I purchased. I had a roku 1 and moved it to a bedroom. The only thing I could wish for is a mute button on the remote. I am a senior citizen and have to mute the TV when the phone rings. Otherwise I absoulutly love it.

Video is great, remote is terrible

I've been using my SS+ for over a year now and can say that it works great, when the remote works. Since the remote doesn't use direct IR it has to connect to your wifi to connect to the SS+. If I'm running a network heavy game, I lose this remote's connection, which happens a lot. There are times when I can't connect it at all and have to use my phone as a remote. When that happens I have to restart my router, the SS+, and the remote (remove/reinsert batteries). I recommend looking at a different Roku device if you are a heavy streaming/gaming user.

Horrible

This device worked for a few months and then all of a sudden says low battery ... so I plugged into a power outlet. That resolved that issue but now it constantly says not connected ... even though the internet works and nothing else is off line. I tried everything and this is only 6 months old and is awful. It hasn't been working after resetting and restarting, unplugging 100 times. Awful awful!

Started working then stopped

I just bot it. it worked and then the next night the remote started re-setting itself. Everything is frozen. Roku wont work and teh remote's green light continues to blink. i have tried taking batteries out, pulling ROku stick out - nothing is working.

Best streaming stick out there - AirPlay 2.0

Overall by far the best streaming stick out there. The voice search and interaction is really amazing compared to other platforms. Fast, high quality, great picture. The most amazing addition is the software update to AirPlay 2.0. Even my older streaming stick from 3 years ago got this update for free!

Roku Stick No Longer Connects to WiFi

This is a known problem and Roku appears to be doing nothing about it. When my first Roku Stick failed to find my WiFi, I replaced it with a new one after trying all of things you do to get the Roku to work again. The new one worked great for 1 month and I had the same issue. My WiFi network was invisible to it. I reset the device to factory settings and that appeared to work for a couple of weeks and I got the same error again. I tried to reset to factory defaults again and that did not work. The device is shot. This is not my WiFi network it is Roku. I suspect they have made some software updates and have completely screwed things up. I have an very old Roku2 and a Roku TV. Both of those work fine. It is not my WiFi network. Read other comments. They know it's a problem and do nothing. After many years of using Roku, I am extremely dissatisfied.

Still going strong!

I have had two of the Roku Streaming Stick + for several years. They are still performing extremely well to this day. Easy to navigate and frequently updated. All of my favorite apps - Netflix, Disney +, YouTube TV, Hoopla, Peacock, and Pandora. I am a big Roku fan!

No 5.1 digital audio

I've spent days trying to solve the problem of not being able to get 5.1 Dolby. I've tried every recommendation in set up and support searches but nothing works. I can only get 2 ch stereo. Even plugging the Roku directly into the HDMI input of the AVR only gives me stereo. I plug my other brand streaming device into the HDMI input and I get Dolby 5.1 no problem. The specs for the Streaming Stick+ indicate Dolby Digital and DD+ but I haven't found a way to make that work. I would recommend this if you don't care about audio, otherwise I don't recommend it.

Overheating Issues

While I love My Roku+ when it's not overheating. Overheating continues to be an issue no matter what I try. Roku provides lots of FREE channel options along with low-cost channel add-ons. While I bought the Roku+ to avoid tv upgrade. I think I will go with Roku tv next go around.
