Very Good, Just Missing One Thing...

I bought one of these about a month ago and am purchasing another one for my bedroom. I already have two Roku Express units however they do not run on 5 GHz only 2.4 GHz and I was having some buffering on YouTube TV no matter so I thought I would give this a try. This model did give me a better signal and so far my buffering issue has gone away since connecting to 5 GHz. Additionally my wife is happy to use only one remote to power the TV, volume and mute, as well as controlling Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube TV. Myself, I use two remotes so I can control my home theater but to her it was a big deal. The one thing missing and that I absolutely hate is that you have to order the HDMI extender and wait a week for it. I would rather Roku charge me a dollar more and have it in the box with all the other parts to get started. Looking at the Roku stick configuration, 99% if the TV's with HDMI are going to need this extender. It is a pain because you cannot pre-order the extender, you need a serial number to order it from Roku, then Wait until it arrives to you so you can set up your Roku. Short-sighted in my opinion to try and save a tiny bit of money while spending it on postage and to mail it to you anyway. Just include it in the box and add a dollar to the price of the product. Other than that it does work flawlessly and the picture quality is much better than the Express model. Do yourself a favor and paid a little more and get the Roku Streaming Stick+ before getting the lower models, I wish I would have done so a long time ago. Hope this helps.

Issues with remote

After about 4 months we started having issues with our remote control. It constantly disconnects from our tv, and we have to re-set the device up. I've tried contacting Roku customer service thru email abc phone and have had no luck getting in touch with anyone. Extremely disappointing

Upgraded From Basic Roku & Dont Regret It!!!

I have Roku devices all over my house for all of my tvs, love them! Have used them for years and will continue to use them till the tvs give out and then I guess I'll upgrade to smart TVs. Anyways, in my daughters room which is furthest from the router I kept having buffering issues and the Roku would completely stop working and say no connection. No connection yet I'm having no problems with other tvs or cell phones. I was so frustrated I was going to give up on Roku till I did a little research and found this, works like a charm in her room keeping the internet connection going even though it's soooo far from the router. Definitely recommended!!!! Sooo easy to setup and now I can control the tv power and volume with the Roku remote, how awesome!! I'm so jealous, wanting to upgrade every room now!

Older Vizio with HDMI capability....doesn't work.

Roku claims their streaming devices work with any HDMI capable TV. That used to be true with my Vizio TV but no longer. I have tried two Streaming Stick + neither connected with the TV. I purchased an Amazon Fire Stick, connection was simple and it is working great!!!

Didn't Work!

I already have a 2 year old plain Streaming Stick that works very well. But I bought another TV w/4k, so I thought I'd upgrade. After installation, I would get Error message; Can't Authorize! and Blue Screen! I called Roku support, spent over 2 hours on the phone and couldn't resolve. So I just put my old one back in and returned the new one to the store for a refund. The old one working great and its $40 cheaper than the + model!!! Customer service was Customer No-Service!

Easy to set up

The stick works fine, although there were a few signal dropouts the first evening (not since then). I suspect those were from using the USB connection for power, instead of plugging it into an outlet. I had thought the whole point of the Stick was to eliminate the cables!

Terrible Remote!

I had a Roku 3 for years. I lost the remote so I replaced it with this. My AV reciever is located in a closet and the old Roku 3 remote work perfectly. This one did not! I have gone to the trouble to rework my system so that the Roku stick is plugged directly into one of the hdmi ports on the tv in the same room and then used the HDMI ARC from the tv to get the sound back to my audio video reciever. Still having trouble... Every day sometimes two, I have to remove the batteries from the remote, unplug the power to the stick which is behind the wall mounted tv and then put it all back again to get it back working. Talk about a pain in the rear! I wish I had my old Roku 3 back!

Bouncing screen everyday

I bought this product and it worked great once connected until the next day. The next day the screen started to bounce when I turned the TV on. I could not get to any channels. I had to unplug the devise to get it to work again. I have to do that at least once per day. I got a lemon. I hope the company will send me a new Roku before I have to send the old one back, so I will not be without TV for several days.

Lousy Enhanced Remote

I bought this product in August 2020. It doesn't get used very often. The remote uses two AAA alkaline batteries; I buy Duracell brand. There's no switch to turn the remote on or off. As a result it seems to be always on. I have to replace them every 2-3 weeks! The only alternative is to remove them after each use.

Best way to make your TV smart

Love this! I have bought 4 for my not smart TVs at my house and cabin. even bought one for my aging mother. So easy to set up and use. Love the remote on my phone feature. When on the treadmill I plug in my headphones to my phone and am able to hear the tv. Love, love, love! Need one more to make all my TVs smart
