Normally, I use Rotel tomatoes by opening the can and dumping into what I am making. I will not so that anymore! Last night I was making dip and was very disappointed to find large amounts of skin. The can almost looked like the ‘bottom of the barrel'. Some of the peels were a couple of inches in length and even the top where the stem connected! I still love rotel tomatoes but will not have confidence in their product for a while. Inspect the contents... just saying...

I read so many negative reviews that I almost did not buy Ro-tel tomatoes. However, they were inexpensive so I thought I would take a risk. I have never used Ro-tel tomatoes before so I don't know how many chilies there are supposed to be. My cans (original and mild) had some chilies in them and were pretty spicy. I used them to make salsa that tastes great. There may have been a little "can" taste but that is usual for things that come in cans. Maybe I just got lucky, but I will buy these again.

I opened my can of rotel, and poured it into my velveeta cheese. As I poured, I noticed something that did not quite look like diced tomatoes. It was a piece of wood! A piece of wood came out of the rotel can! It was not small either, by any means, at least 1’’ by 1’’. As this is unacceptable in a product of food, I give this a poor review.

The amount of tomato skins left in the dip is getting annoying. After reading other reviews I agree there is fewer green chilies. I gave you 3 stars and a yes on recommend. That could change if the quality continues to go down. Please make some changes for the history of your past success

we have loved rotel for years...i came here for the first time to see if they had changed their recipe, or if it was just me. the flavor was bland with no ‘kick’. now I see others are coming to the same conclusion: no green chiles. our two cans tonight had none, either. hope this is a fluke and gets fixed soon. :(

I just have a question. Didn't you used to put jalapenos in your ingredients? I used to eat the Original, but recently had to stop because I've now become allergic to the jalapenos. I noticed on the ingredients lately that jalapenos weren't on the can. Is this true?

Picked up two cans of the original with green chilies, Seemed pretty bland overall not even decent tomato flavor. Extra disappointing was neither can appeared to filled proper. So weighed them out and were filled 8.5 oz and 9 oz… overall disappointed

Ever tried to mimicking this sauce? You can't! The flavor is unique, it has the right amount of seasoning. I've tried to replace with stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, etc. Doesn't hold a candle. Will continue to purchase rotel for all my special recipies.

i have used rotel for years for the last few years I have noticed fewer and fewer green chilies yesterday the can i opened did not have even one green speck in it and no flavor but tomato. I guess I will next time and a can of green chilies and mix them myself.

I use Rotel very often for dips for tailgate parties and whatnot. I always get a lot of compliments and are quick to suggest the product. Last night, I made a dip for lunch at work today and found a little surprise. It was dark in color and hard, almost like a small chip of wood. I ended up discarding the whole dip. It was meant to be shared at work and I couldn't take the chance of someone getting a piece that I may not have noticed. It was disappointing because I was looking forward to bringing something in to share with coworkers on a Friday, and had to settle for showing up emptyhanded.
