I had guests over and made the always great Velveeta/Rotel dip. I served my guests and put the mostly empty bowl of dip in the sink. About 15 minutes later, I added water to the bowl and began scrapping the dip from the bottom of the bowl. I found a dead fruit worm in the remaining leftover dip which was about an inch long. I was so sickened! How many worms did we eat? I could not even imagine finding a worm in my Rotel! So shocking!!! I've used this product my entire life. I had to wonder how a worm made it through the processing in one piece. Based on many poor reviews of Rotel recently, I do not find it unbelievable anymore. What has happened to Rotel?

WHAT HAS HAPPENED? The last 2 cans of Rotel original that I bought is completely devoid of taste - in fact, it tasted like it had been made with half rotten tomatoes! The entire can contents tasted like bad tomatoes in watered down tomato juice - it was terrible! It all went down the disposal! In other words, IT WAS TRASH! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ROTEL ANY LONGER!

We use Ro-tel for a ton of different dishes and its always so awesome. We use it to make cheese dip, we use it for sauce picante, and we use it for Dorito casserole. The original is a great choice for cooking for a family because it has lots of flavor, but its mild enough that the children can eat it.

How can you make the infamous tomato and cheese hot dip without several cans of the original Ro-tel tomato and peppers. They have a great flavor that is just spicy enough to compliment the soft cheese. I use them when I make a King Ranch style chicken dish and the flavor really brings everything in the dish together.  They are the wonder in a can..

Every time I use Ro-tel instead of diced tomatoes in any recipe, people rave about the flavor and ask what magical secret I have. Ro-tel is genuinely the best version of canned tomatoes and chilies - the right balance of flavors to enhance recipes without overpowering the flavors of the food.

Tried to find a number to call with our batch number to help Rotel out w quality control... can of Rotel chilies only had fluid w maybe 10 tomato & 5 chili pieces. Oh well, maybe they read reviews. Don’t want anything. Got a pic of the batch # if they want it. Meanwhile- still love and recommend their products.

Original rotelle is the very best variety. It is best and many recipes. However my go to favorite is rotelle cheese dip with tortillas. Rotelle is inexpensive and easily accessible. I would totally recommend it as a pantry staples and every household

This is my go to when I don't have fresh tomatoes and peppers. This week add flavor to all your meals. This on any types of eggs for a quick easy meal. Rotel is also great with Velveeta for a great twist to plain nachos. I always have to have this in the pantry. 

I love Rotel! Seriously, love this company and their products. I'm a native Texan and make a LOT of Tex-Mex recipes and so I use Rotel all the time. I have an entire shelf in the pantry w/just their products. Whether it's enchiladas, queso, rice, beans, casseroles, soups/stews, etc., Rotel never lets me down! Always an excellent balance of ingredients to make any recipe taste wonderful! I've tried generic store brands that are supposed to be “like” Rotel but only Rotel has this level of excellent ingredients and quality. Ro Tel Original

Rotel is a must have for my cheese dip recipe. It's great when melted with velveeta cheese and served with tortilla chips for a quick appetizer. To kick it up a notch, I add velveeta, diced onions, and a little butter and melt it all together in the microwave before serving.
