Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this coffee system. It is amazing! At first I thought it was going to be difficult to use, but turns out it's quite simple. It makes single serves or up to a whole pot. What I like most is that I can feel the carafe up with ice, using the Over ice Brew function. It turns out really well. Another function that I favor is the frothing device. It makes my creamer nice and frothy, making it like a Cafe style coffee within seconds! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for these types of functions as well as simple coffee. My family and guests have also enjoyed this very much.
I would give this zero stars if possible
Bought this at Sams. Moved a month later, so didn't take it out of the box as I wanted to use it in my new kitchen. Opened it up yesterday and tried to do the run through of 2 carafes of water before brewing a pot. Ninja made 2 pumps of water into the carafe. Did all the troubleshooting the booklet said. Tried 10 more times..still the same. Called Ninja and they walked me through more troubleshooting. Still same story...oh and by the way your warranty is out and doesn't cover this! ????Really. This is a brand new pot. Unfortunately I have now read on line this is a common problem with Ninja. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!! My $20 pot is still working after 2 years. $100+ Ninja is now going to the garbage. Only consolation is I can give a brand new carafe to Goodwill!!
Does not measure water correctly!
Brand new out of the box, this machine never worked right. I referenced the manual and info online and it pumps way too much water through for every brew setting I pick. I thought maybe I wasn't understanding or doing something wrong until I got a measuring cup and found out the regular/classic cup that's supposed to brew 9.5 ounces was putting out a little over 11 ounces of water. I tested every other brew setting (cup, XL, Travel as classic/rich/over-ice) and each cycle had the same results; way too much water, making each cup weak and nasty. It's not worth this amount of money when it can't even function as it's designed. I really wanted to love this machine and get away from Keurig, but it didn't live up to it's reputation. Sorry Sofia, you can have it back!
Good when it works but not for long!
This machine made some good coffee but didn't last more than 10 months before it broke, its temperamental with coffee not liking some brands and over extracting them to bitterness. The worst is the customer service and the fact that a class action investigation is pending because of all the problems. I got 2 one for my son and one for me. I wish I spent the money on Bonavita, KitchenAid or some other good brand. :(
Chemical/Plastic Smell
We have this coffee maker for about 3 months. We ran a pot of water in the clean mode. We have done this with every coffee maker we've ever purchased. With that being said, it brews just fine for the most part. We have had 3/4 of a pot brew on the full pot cycle. Whatever that's easy to deal with. The major issue we have with this product is the STRONG chemical/plastic smell and taste. It is so bad my husband can't and will not drink anything brewed from this coffee maker. It has literally made him sick! BUYER BEWARE! (We will be writing the company with a complaint.)
I love Ninja products, not this one...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several Shark-Ninja products at home. I have never been disappointed in how they work, or how they look, until now. I've had this "Ninja Coffee Bar Glass Carafe System CF090" for several weeks now, and have only just now been able to get it to work. I even had to call customer service to get some idea if it was my fault, that perhaps I wasn't doing something correctly. I followed all the directions to set it up, just like I always do with a new and unfamiliar appliance or tool. After following all the added suggestions of the person at customer service, I finally put it through a cleaning cycle, as he suggested. That only added to my disgust with this product, as this was a brand new out of the box appliance. Why should I have to put it through an intense cleaning cycle before I could get it to work properly? It's supposed to know how much water to draw from it's reservoir, after you choose size and type of brewing you want to match with the mug or carafe you are using. Nope! No matter how I set it, it wanted to draw all the water out. It's finally working, although I don't trust it enough to walk away while it's brewing, only to come back and find coffee all over the kitchen! About the only part of this machine I do like is the frother. However, I can't see spending $$ just for a fancy frother. The other thing is that it is labor intensive to clean. Much more work that is necessary for a single cup of coffee. I think I'll just go back to my standard coffee maker, until I do more research and find a Specialty Coffee Maker that is easy to use and clean.
Nice curb appeal, but...
This Ninja coffee bar can do about anything you want from brewing one cup of coffee to making nice lattes. However, the issue is that the base leaks water. I had purchased one of these machines and returned it to Sam's Club for this issue, only to have the other unit do the same thing. When I called the support line, they told me they would send me a new base but they would have to charge me $20 for shipping. I returned it to Sam's Club and got my money back for $0.00 charge.
So far loving it, but the model number is CF091A
Sam's shows the model number as CF090A, but I received mine and the model number is CF091A. The CF090A apparently came with a pour over ice carafe but the CF091A does not. I don't really need the carafe but still was not happy that I didn't get what I thought I was getting for the price. Having said that, the coffee maker works like a charm! I had an older Ninja Coffee Bar and it was OK but I like the shape of this one better, plus it has an additional coffee selection, more mug sizes to select from and a frother. I've only had the coffee maker a day, but so far so good.
Buyer Beware!
This was a great coffee bar and did everything we wanted it to....THEN 1.) the CLEAN light came on after 2 or 3 weeks. We would clean it and clean it but the light wouldn't go out. 2.) it stopped brewing full pots after about 3 months. You have to stand there and keep pushing the button to turn it back on. 3.) It won't even brew one cup without shutting off. I tried to do some research and found hundreds of complaints on their Facebook page of the same issues. I tried multiple suggestions to no avail. For as much as this thing cost, it should definitely have a longer lifespan.
